Story
Meet Zuzu — she didn't lose a home because of anything she did. She just got caught in the middle of life. Zuzu's story starts the way too many good dogs' stories do — found as a stray, landed in an overcrowded Detroit shelter, and waiting for someone to see how special she was. A wonderful foster family stepped up, and it didn't take long before she found her forever home... or so we thought. Zuzu was adopted in April 2025 and by all accounts, she was everything a family could want. But when her parents' marriage ended, she found herself without a home through absolutely no fault of her own. She didn't do anything wrong. She just needs someone new to love her — and trust us, she has so much love to give. Here's what makes Zuzu so special: This 2-3 year old, 48-pound sweetheart is the whole package. She's potty trained, crate trained, and currently lives happily alongside kids AND cats, who she absolutely adores. She is gentle, affectionate, and the kind of dog who just wants to be near her people. Give her a toy, a bone, a walk, or a spot on the couch and she is in heaven. Zuzu has already proven she can thrive in a loving home — she just needs another chance at one. Zuzu is: 2-3 years old 48 lbs. of pure sweetness Spayed Up to date on vaccines Microchipped Potty & crate trained Dog, cat & kid friendly Adoption Fee: $250 She's already been the perfect dog once. Let her be yours. Application: https://peaceloveandpawsrescue.com/adopt%2Ffoster-application

Story
Lieutenant Dan! Ice cream! No shrimp boat required — just a couch, some snacks, and a heart ready for unconditional love. Meet Lieutenant Dan (aka Dan the Man), a 60-lb velvet pillow who has seen some things but still believes life is like a box of chew toys — you never know what you’re gonna get, but it’s probably adorable. Dan may not run across America, but he walks like a dream on leash, is house-trained, crate-trained, and has officially mastered the art of being a proper Southern gentleman. He’s calm, sweet, and prefers cuddles over chaos. This is not a ping-pong-chasing lifestyle dog. This is a lean back, watch the world go by kind of guy. He’s: *1-2 years old *60 lbs of HUNK *Neutered, UTD on vaccines and microchipped *Dog Friendly *Great with kids *A champion cuddler and elite people-pleaser *Unsure about cats (still waiting to meet one… probably would ask their name politely) Apply Here: https://peaceloveandpawsrescue.com/adopt%2Ffoster-application

Story
Meet Bubbles! The name says it all — Bubbles is pure joy in pittie puppy form. Bubbles is a happy-go-lucky girl, she is playful, easy going, and has the kind of natural confidence that makes her a dream to work with. Bubbles is settling into crate life nicely — she might let you know she'd prefer to be out, but she calms down quickly and gets with the program. She is working on potty pads and has already started venturing outside too, so she is well on her way. She currently lives with five other dogs and holds her own beautifully. She listens to corrections from the other dogs, plays hard, and knows when to dial it back. Her favorite playmate is her foster mom's 11-month-old shepherd, and together they are an absolute riot to watch. She loves tug, running at full speed (and she is fast), and is food motivated enough to pick up training quickly — which means she is going to be a joy to teach. Car rides? No problem — she has logged plenty of hour-long trips without batting an eye. Meeting strangers? Tail is already wagging before they even say hello. She has been introduced to all kinds of people, places, and situations and takes everything in her stride. Fair warning: Bubbles gets vocal during play — she has a lot of feelings and she is not afraid to express them. Bubbles is the kind of puppy that does not come around every day — confident, adaptable, social, and endlessly fun. She just needs a family ready to channel all that wonderful energy and help her grow into the incredible dog she is already becoming. Bubbles is: 11 weeks old Utd on age appropriate vaccines Fecal tested and dewormed Microchipped Spayed Apply here: https://peaceloveandpawsrescue.com/adopt%2Ffoster-application

Story
Pipster the Hipster is ready to steal your heart and maybe your spot on the couch! Pip was scoop up from a local shelter after being found on the streets of Detroit. He was scared and skinnier than any puppy ever should be. Fortunately Pip is tough and has grown into a confident and energetic pup in his foster home! He loves running around and wrestling with his foster siblings. He is still working on his confidence meeting new people though. A treat or two will do the trick to winning him over. He met lots of people at the pet store and was quickly going in for all the pets and cuddles. Pip is very food motivated which helps with training. He is a very smart boy who learned sit the first day! He runs right to his room at meal time to sit and wait to be served. He is crate and pee pad trained. He is getting better at alerting when he needs to go out but will need some patience in this as he is still a puppy. Pip is: 💙 6-7 months old 💙 UTD on vaccines 💙 Neutered 💙 Microchipped 💙 Kid and dog friendly. Cats unknown but anticipate will do fine. Story
Biggie Smalls: The Notorious S.N.U.G.G.L.E.R. Don’t let the name fool you—Biggie Smalls may be only about 20 pounds, but his heart (and love for snuggles) is absolutely huge. This handsome 2-year-old Schnauzer is the perfect mix of playful explorer and devoted cuddle companion. Biggie’s favorite place in the world? Right next to his person. Whether he’s curled up on your lap, relaxing beside you on the couch, or riding shotgun on a car ride (he’s wonderfully calm in the car!), Biggie is happiest when he’s sharing life with his people. When it’s time for adventure, Biggie loves going on leisurely sniff walks, taking in all the sights and smells the world has to offer. Afterward, he’s more than happy to head home for some quality cuddle time—and maybe a little pampering. Biggie is quite the fashion fan and happily models cozy sweaters, hoodies, and winter coats like a pro. This smart little guy is eager to learn and loves working with his humans. He already knows sit, look, and touch, and he’s currently learning place and “with me” while walking. He’s also comfortable settling in his pen. With his intelligence and eagerness, Biggie will thrive with someone who enjoys continuing his training and helping him grow. Biggie has done great with the small dogs he’s met so far, though he can be a bit unsure around bigger dogs. He does best with slow introductions to new people and would likely thrive in a home with adults or older kids who can give him the time and space he needs to feel comfortable. Biggie is considered a special needs dog, so he’s looking for a patient, understanding adopter who is willing to continue guiding him as he builds confidence and learns new things. In return, you’ll gain a loyal little companion who will reward you with endless affection, companionship, and snuggles. If you’re looking for a sweet, smart, stylish sidekick who will happily join you for walks, car rides, and cozy nights on the couch, Biggie Smalls is ready to be your ride-or-die best friend. *2 years old *20 lbs. *Neutered, UTD on vaccines, and microchipped *Dog friendly with proper introductions *Loves walks and car rides *Potty Trained Adoption Fee: $300 Application: https://peaceloveandpawsrescue.com/adopt%2Ffoster-application
