Story
We acquired Freya through a friend when she was 8 weeks. Freya grew up with another Sheperd mix but she isn't great with other dogs and can be very barky. She listens well and knows her basic commands. She is 11 years old but she is healthy. She can experience bouts of allergy issues but with some minor medications/shampoos that is alleviated. My wife & I never anticipated rehoming Freya but we had a baby almost 2 years ago and Freya shows some anxieties around him and we would rather play it safe by rehoming her to a loving family, preferably with no dogs and no infants or very young children. That being said, she is such a sweet and loving girl and still very active. Loves playing fetch and chasing things and loves to cuddle. Freya has not shown any signs of hip issues or any other health issues. She will require a fully fenced yard and she is leash and crate trained, however she has not used a crate in a few years and can get nervous on walks if there are strangers or other dogs.

Story
Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue, The Artemis Project, in Arkansas. We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee. MICHIGAN RESIDENTS—>PLEASE CLICK THE LINK BELOW TO FILL OUT THE ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://new.shelterluv.com/form/other/TAP/2450-michigan-adoption Before we can change your new furbaby’s status from "adoptable" to "adoption pending," the $50 transport fee must be paid to secure the adoption. At that time, we will stop accepting applications. The entire adoption fee must be paid prior to the transport in order to ensure your new baby has a spot on the transport. Thank you SO MUCH for giving a homeless Arkansas pup a chance at a real life with a family of their very own!
