Mildred is so loyal to her people and likes to warn them whenever a stranger is around. Once she's comfortable, she is a loving and constant companion. One-on-one, she seems to be in her element. She will likely benefit most from a quieter home with consistent people and little unsettling activity. Millie does not respond well to cats, small dogs, some larger dogs, but has done great with polite, playful dogs. Although she has male friends she trusts, she definitely seems to prefer women to men. She will need to placed in a home with no young children. Millie has thrived within her ROAS family of staff and volunteers, but we know there is someone who out there who checks all her boxes who will take her home and be her forever family. Chrissie is totally low maintenance. Absolutely self-sufficient as long as you give her food, lovin's, and a place to poop...and don't expect her to warm up to you until she's good and ready. She is not a cuddler, per se, but she will gracefully accept your affection and your presence on her terms. She has definite (strong) opinions about most other dogs and would do well to avoid being in the same vicinity. She ADORES cats. She is petrified of leashes and shouldn't be expected to go on walks or unfenced excursions. If you're calm, quiet, patient, a little socially awkward, totally independent, enjoy quirky free spirits, and like having a companion who doesn't expect you to entertain them, Chrissie may be your dream dog. Meet Melon, You will fall in love! Sweet Melon is about 30# and around 9 months old. She is currently at the shelter learning to be brave and getting there every day. She is there with her brother Mango. They both are looking for a wonderful foster or adopter. They do not need to be adopted or fostered together, this is just the current situation she is in and we love the puppy playtime in the meantime. Melon is a bit on the shyer, quiet side which may change once she gets more confident. We already see her coming out of her shell. She can be the only dog or would be happy to have a dog brother or sister that can show her the ropes, with slow and proper introductions. If sweet Melon looks to be your match, please fill out an app for her, she is waiting. *Cats and Kids are unknown. Breed is a guess based on appearance.
