Story
Bo was my dad’s dog before he passed away a little over a year ago. I took him in but can no longer keep him. He is a very energetic 12 year old dog who loves to play fetch and enjoys hanging outside. He’s very expressive and funky when he plays, he enjoys turning his butt towards you and kicking his back leg out. He’s an avid tug of war player and will always greet you with a toy when you return home. I am looking for someone living in a house with no other dogs or children for him to live, thats the best environment for him to thrive in. He deserves a loving home where he can relax for the rest of his life. He loves to be scratched and sunbathing.

Story
Hi! My name is Bear! I was found wandering the streets cold and skinny. I do not have a microchip and no family came looking for me. These nice people found me, gave me food and a warm bed, all of my shots, and they neutered me! I am nice to other dogs.. I’m actually really submissive to the little dog I am living with. Ive met and hung out with some kids ages 10 and up. I liked them so much! I am smart, food motivated and eager to please! Im an easygoing guy! I just want to be fed and loved. I am learning my leash manners like a champ, taking walks is so much fun! I am crate trained and housebroken, ready to snuggle with my forever family.

Story
A little different. A lot of love in Kalamazoo Polaris is a stunning 8 month old Aussie pup with a story - and a heart - you won’t soon forget. Born as the result of double merle breeding, Polaris is deaf and has very limited vision. When he couldn’t be sold, he was dumped to fend for himself, along with his blind and deaf sister. But he’s since shown that he’s more than anyone expected - resilient, loving, and full of life. Despite his challenges, Polaris is a happy, affectionate pup who’s never met a stranger. He finds comfort being close to his person, especially outside, and will thrive in a home with a fenced-in yard where he can safely explore by your side. Fun Facts About Polaris *Loves to play inside - especially fetch with his ball! *Occasionally barks at things he can see, but a gentle touch and quick reassurance calms him right down. * Needs the same love, training, and exercise as any Aussie pup - he just does it his way. * Sweet, social, and ready to love big. * He loves to swing with his person on a porch swing. Polaris is looking for a furever home that understands that having special needs doesn’t mean less - just different. He is looking for his best friend; someone to take him with them and keep him by their side. Polaris is UTD on his vaccines, neutered, microchipped, and on HW and flea prevention. He currently weighs about 45#. He is housebroken; he has learned to go to the door when he needs to potty. (He will need some time, and patience, to figure out where the door is in his new home.) He is well on his way to being crate trained. He will need work with his leash skills, although he walks well beside his foster mom in the yard. If you think Polarais is the perfect pup for you, please fill out an application at https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application. There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new furever family. Polaris is currently located in Kalamazoo, MI.

Story
Hello! My name is Buddy. My story is unknown. I was turned over to animal control after a series of stories that do not make much sense. I am petrified of everything currently, except men, I am what you could consider a, 'Man's bestfriend' I am in search of a foster to adopt as I need to get used to house life. There has been a lot of progress with me. I allow shelter staff to pet me and take me on walks, though I am still very scared. I also like being in the presence of people, but I observe things from a distance. The shelter staff guess that I was chained and possibly beaten, though nothing is known for sure. They always tell me they wish I could talk. Please give me a chance, I deserve it.

Story
URGENT Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Grosse Pointe, MI *This dog doesn’t belong to ASF and hasn’t been evaluated by ASF.* Meet Paco! is a 6-year-old Australian Shepherd and weighs 51 lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Paco is good with older children, farm animals, cats, and dogs! No younger children, due to his reactivity! Paco is an extremely loving and velcro dog! He goes on 2-3 runs a week, as well as has free roam of the house and fenced-in yard. He loves frisbee and walks well on a leash! He is very active during the day but turns into a couch potato at night. Paco bit the owner’s young son after he chased him around a room and tried to hug him. He also attempted to bite the neighbor’s young daughter who poked her face through the fence. The owner is surrendering him because he doesn’t do well with younger children. He needs to go by 7/11! If you think you can provide a great home for Paco, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever, for their assistance in placing Paco. The owner is willing to cover this fee for his next adopter. Story
Honeybee came in as a surrender due to her owner's medical status. He was unable to care for her long-term, as he was checking into a long-term care facility that day. Keeping her until the last moment he possibly could, he drove away with tears in his eyes and the only thing to remember her by; her collar. She is such a sweet girl with lots of love to give. She's the biggest snuggle bug and can be playful. Honeybee is a quiet girl and can come off as shy, but will make the best four-legged friend once she opens up. She would do best in a quiet home as a man's best friend.
