Story
Winston, male pit bull mix (amputee) Winston was shot with a 12 guage rifle in November of 2015. He lost his leg because his owner failed to keep him in a safe environment (fenced yard). While he was wandering the area, he was shot in the leg. Unfortunately, he lost his leg, and his home after that, as his owner couldn't take responsibility for his vet care either. Winston is a ton of fun. He plays ball like a champ, click here to see him go! https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=915137805263915&id=381107812000253 He's not so good with other dogs, but he loves men, women, and kids!! Winston has a requirement for a fenced yard, and no other pets. He has accepted neighbors dogs after some time getting to know them through the fence in his foster home. He knows sit, fetch, leave it, and is house trained, crate trained (iif needed, but he's generally a good boy), neutered and a big lover. Please email us about Winston at muttsofmotownrescue@gmail.com

Story
Meet Tanner 🐾💛Tanner is a 2-year-old tan and white mixed-breed with a big smile, a happy heart, and energy for days! This fun-loving guy is truly happy-go-lucky and is looking for a family that can keep up with his playful, upbeat personality.Tanner previously completed basic obedience training and knows commands like sit and stay. He’s been friendly and playful with other dogs, making him a great candidate for a home with a canine sibling (meet-and-greet recommended). He doesn’t have a known history with cats, so if a feline friend is in the home, slow and safe introductions would be the way to go.This boy loves to play and would thrive with regular exercise, enrichment, and activities that let him burn off some of that joyful energy. A fenced-in yard would be a bonus, but it’s not required—what Tanner really needs is an active family committed to giving him the time, outlets, and love he deserves.Tanner is ready to trade shelter days for couch cuddles (after playtime, of course!) and can’t wait to find his next forever family. If you’re looking for a loyal, energetic companion to share life’s adventures with, Tanner just might be your perfect match 🐶✨

Story
Meet Stone 🖤Stone is a 2-year-old neutered male Cane Corso who has truly shown what resilience looks like. When Stone first came into our care, he was incredibly underweight and unsure of the world around him. Thanks to a loving foster home, he’s gained much-needed weight, started learning to trust again, and begun positive reinforcement training—and wow, has he made progress!Stone is a sensitive, intelligent boy who thrives with patience, consistency, and kindness. He’s done best with positive reinforcement training, which should be continued in his forever home to help him keep building confidence and skills. Because of his size and learning style, children should be 10 years and older, and any other dogs in the home must meet Stone prior to adoption to ensure a good fit.In his foster home, Stone also spent time around cats and did well with them, showing appropriate behavior and no chasing, which is a wonderful bonus for a large-breed boy like him.Stone is heartworm positive, but don’t worry—his treatment will be fully covered by us. What he truly needs now is a committed, understanding family ready to continue the journey he’s already started.Stone has come such a long way and is such a good boy. He’s ready to keep growing, keep learning, and finally get comfortable with a family who will love him for the rest of his life. If you’re looking for a loyal companion and want to be part of an incredible success story, Stone may be your guy. 🐾Stone's adoption fee has been sponsored by a generous donor.
