Zuzu's story starts the way too many good dogs' stories do — found as a stray, landed in an overcrowded Detroit shelter, and waiting for someone to see how special she was. A wonderful foster family stepped up, and it didn't take long before she found her forever home... or so we thought. Zuzu was adopted in April 2025 and by all accounts, she was everything a family could want. But when her parents' marriage ended, she found herself without a home through absolutely no fault of her own. She didn't do anything wrong. We met this sweet boy, instantly fell in love with him and swooped him to safety. We estimate Rupert to be 2 years old and he currently weighs 17 lbs. he is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. Rupert is both cat and dog friendly, although he would do fine in a home as the only dog. He is working on his potty training but is a very smart boy. With consistency and routine we feel he will master it in no time. He is comfortable in his crate and does well when his foster mom is away. Rupert also knows how to SIT and is eager to learn more.
