Story
Chiquita is a loving, cute, and energetic 7-year-old Labrador Retriever/Beagle mix who still has plenty of playful energy. She loves going on walks, exploring her surroundings, and stopping to smell everything along the way. She can still run and truly enjoys being active. She is very social and likes being around both people and other dogs. She often approaches others with curiosity, but does best when she can ease into interactions at her own pace. Once comfortable, she enjoys being pet and staying close to her people. She also has a funny and affectionate habit of going in between your legs to be near you. Chiquita knows basic commands like sit, lay down, wait, and give paw. She is smart and capable, and would benefit from an owner who is enthusiastic about continuing her training and giving her attention. She is looking for a home with someone who is active, patient, and excited to give her the time, care, and attention she deserves.

Story
"Meet Friend! His name says it all. Friend is a handsome black male greyhound born on August 20, 2021, and if you're looking for a calm, easy-going companion who simply enjoys being part of the family, Friend may be the perfect match. This sweet boy is the definition of laid-back. He is quiet, well-mannered, and content to take life at a relaxed pace. Friend is the kind of dog who doesn't create drama, doesn't demand constant attention, and is simply a pleasure to have around. Whether you're relaxing at home, taking a leisurely walk, or enjoying a day by the water, Friend is happy to be by your side. One of his favorite places is the beach, where he can soak up the sights, sounds, and smells while spending time with his people. He has also been around children aged four years and older and has done very well, making him a wonderful candidate for a family home. Friend travels beautifully and shows no signs of stress in the car. He has some crate training and settles easily into new situations. During his assessment, he walked nicely on lead and remained completely relaxed throughout. While some dogs feel the need to be the center of attention, Friend was content to quietly observe his surroundings, taking everything in stride. When he met his assessor, he offered a polite sniff, enjoyed some affection, and happily interacted without being overly energetic or demanding. His gentle nature and calm confidence make him incredibly easy to be around. Friend also has excellent manners around other dogs. He gets along well with both large and small dogs and showed no signs of possessiveness around treats or food. In fact, he was so unconcerned that he didn't seem to mind when another dog helped itself to his treats. His relaxed attitude and friendly disposition make him a wonderful companion in multi-dog households. That said, Friend's independent nature means he may also be perfectly happy as an only dog, soaking up all the love and attention from his family. He doesn't seem to rely on other dogs for confidence or entertainment and appears comfortable simply being himself. If you're searching for a loyal companion with a gentle soul, easy manners, and a wonderfully relaxed outlook on life, Friend is ready to become exactly what his name promises—a true friend for life. Friend sounds like the kind of greyhound many adopters dream of: calm, uncomplicated, affectionate, and content just being part of the family."

Story
Tom (racing name Fly Tom) is a handsome black greyhound who was born on March 16, 2021. At five years old, he's left his racing career behind and is ready to devote his energy to something much more rewarding—being someone's loyal companion. If there's one thing to know about Tom, it's that he loves being part of the action! Whether it's family time, a walk around the neighborhood, or simply hanging out while you're busy, Tom wants to be right there with you. He's a friendly, affectionate boy who happily seeks out people for extra pats and attention. Tom is active, cheerful, and full of personality. He walks beautifully on lead, making him a wonderful partner for daily strolls, and his happy outlook on life is contagious. He's also a social butterfly. Tom gets along well with both large and small dogs. When he first met a small dog during his assessment, he was understandably excited and curious, but he quickly relaxed and disengaged, showing that he responds well with appropriate introductions. Because of his enthusiasm, he'd do best with slow, thoughtful introductions to smaller canine companions. Tom has also spent time with teenagers aged 16 and older and enjoys being included in family life. His affectionate nature and love of people make him the kind of dog who will happily follow you from room to room, always ready for a cuddle or a scratch behind the ears. If you're looking for a fun-loving, people-oriented greyhound who will greet each day with a wagging tail and an eager heart, Tom is ready to become your newest family member. Could Tom be the companion you've been waiting for?"

Story
"Bear (racing name Kingsbrae Bear) is a handsome white and blue greyhound who will celebrate his 6th birthday on November 10. With his calm nature, easygoing personality, and gentle spirit, Bear is more interested in enjoying life than racing through it. Wherever Bear goes, he settles in quickly. During his assessment, he adapted easily to a new environment, remained relaxed, and happily took everything in stride. He's the kind of dog who makes himself at home in no time. Bear is a pleasure to walk. He has lovely leash manners, walks calmly by your side, and enjoys exploring without pulling. His laid-back personality makes him an ideal companion for leisurely strolls and relaxed days at home. This sweet boy also has wonderful manners. He showed no signs of resource guarding, even when toys were involved, and demonstrated the calm, trustworthy temperament that makes retired greyhounds such wonderful companions. Bear also met small dogs during his assessment. He was calm and appropriate around them, happily sharing the yard and even chasing a ball alongside a small dog. The only time he became excited was when several small dogs and puppies began splashing and playing in a pool. The sudden movement and excitement briefly caught his attention, but once the activity settled, Bear relaxed right along with it and returned to his easygoing self. Bear is a lovely boy with a kind heart, a relaxed personality, and just enough playful spirit to keep life fun. He's ready to leave his racing days behind and become someone's loyal best friend. If you're looking for a gentle companion who enjoys walks, playtime, and quiet evenings at home, Bear may be the perfect addition to your family."
