Hi, I’m Luna. I’m 1 year 3 months old, and my family surrendered me to Baldwin Park Animal Care Center without giving a reason. Luna is a 50-pound female Husky mix currently with her foster in Washington, where she is slowly settling in and beginning to feel safe. She is a very special girl who has already been through a lot in her short life. In the shelter, she was timid and unsure, often overwhelmed by her surroundings. Now, in a calmer environment, Luna is starting to come out of her shell. She is still building confidence around people, but she is improving every day with patience and gentle guidance. She is dog-friendly and benefits from being around other dogs who help her feel more secure. Luna will thrive in a quiet, loving home that gives her the time and space she needs to fully open up. With consistency and kindness, she will continue to grow into a confident and devoted companion.

Hi, I’m Zorro. I’m 2 years old, and my family surrendered me to the Baldwin Park ACC because they said they had “too many dogs.” Zorro is currently safe with his foster family in Knoxville, Tennessee, where he’s beginning to decompress and learn what stability feels like. He is a 60 pound male Belgian Malinois with a sweet, affectionate nature and a strong desire to be close to his people. He loves one-on-one time and often leans in for comfort, showing just how much he values connection. He shows interest in other dogs and has the potential to do well with proper introductions, though he is still building his confidence in new environments. Like many dogs who have experienced sudden change, Zorro benefits from patience, consistency, and a calm, reassuring routine to help him continue coming out of his shell. During his time at the shelter, volunteers noted how well-mannered and gentle he was outside of the kennel. Given the chance, he showed his true personality — a loyal, soft-hearted companion who simply wants to feel safe and belong. Zorro has been through uncertainty, but he hasn’t lost his ability to trust or love. With the right home, he will continue to grow into a confident and deeply devoted companion.

Hi, I’m Petunia. I’m a 9 years old, senior girl who came to Baldwin Park Animal Care Center as a stray with a painful hip injury before getting my second chance. Petunia is a petite 30 pound brindle sweetheart currently safe with her foster in Los Angeles, California and is available for adoption. Despite everything she has been through, she has never stopped loving people. She has the gentlest soul and is happiest when she is receiving affection and spending time with her humans. Petunia gets along well with both dogs and cats, making her an easy companion for many homes. She has a calm, loving personality and simply wants to be close to the people she trusts. After arriving at the shelter with a hip injury, she received surgery and has healed beautifully. Now that her recovery is behind her, she is ready to focus on what she has always deserved — a loving forever home. Petunia’s journey to safety was not an easy one, but she never gave up. Today, she is finally able to relax, feel safe, and enjoy being loved. All she needs now is a family of her own to give her the happy ending she has been waiting for. Madeline’s Story Madeline is a 3 years old, female Shar-Pei weighing 33 pounds who was recently rescued from the Baldwin Park ACC and is currently fostered in Surprise, Arizona. When she arrived at the shelter, it was clear she had been neglected for a long time. She was underweight, frightened, in pain, and struggling with severe eye issues. Despite everything she has endured, Madeline has remained gentle and is slowly learning that she is finally safe. After arriving in foster care, Madeline finally has the opportunity to rest, heal, and experience the love and stability she deserves. Despite everything she has been through, she has shown a sweet spirit and is settling into her new surroundings. Madeline is dog-friendly and has enjoyed the company of other dogs. As she continues to decompress and gain confidence, we are learning more about her personality each day. Madeline is currently receiving veterinary care and will undergo entropion surgery to correct her painful eyelids, followed by her spay procedure and any additional medical treatment recommended by her veterinary team. Her focus right now is on healing, recovery, and getting ready for the bright future ahead of her. Madeline will be available for adoption once she has completed her medical treatment, recovered from surgery, and been spayed.

Meet Portia, she's a stunning little wirehaired chihuahua terrier mix, she is super cute, her face and underbite are just adorable. She is dog friendly and will play with the big dogs and wrestle with the small dogs. She definitely likes to be the boss but she is very sweet and easy to train. We rescued Portia after she was abandoned WHILE GIVING BIRTH to dead puppies at South LA Shelter. Even though her puppies died and she was in a good amount of pain, she managed to overcome so many obstacles to fully love humans and gets very excited when foster mom comes home from work. She is a total love bug and very healthy, she is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped and ready to go home! Portia will do well with any age kids too. Do you want to meet Portia? He is housebroken, and his foster mom is working on obedience training. He is an eager to please fellow who is a Velcro dog and loves to be with his human. He is great with other dogs, in fact having another dog would be ideal for him as he loves to play with his foster's dogs. Buddy will chase cats, so a home with a cat may not be a good match. He is healthy, up-to-date on shots and has been neutered. He weighs approximately 25 pounds and will no doubt grow into a medium sized dog. Buddy is located in Los Angeles, CA.
