Story
18 month old Angelo lost his home due to divorce and landed in a shelter.  The shelter staff contacted GSROC as he had quickly become a shelter favorite. Angelo spent a few days at the home of one of our volunteers.   He is a happy guy who got along well with the other dogs in her home.  Angelo is always ready to play and have fun.  After all – he still has lots of puppy playfulness inside. This boy sometimes takes his role of protector a bit too seriously.  He needs an experience owner who will provide him with the structure and limits he craves.   For that reason, we recommend him for a quieter, adult home . Please go to our website and complete an adoption application at: /https://www.gsroc.org/application/  An adoption counselor will contact you to go over your application and assist you in determining which dog may be best for your particular situation. Story
Lucille is a small, energetic girl whose human became could no longer care for Lucille and her brother, Dante. Lucille can be a little shy with new people, but she bonds quickly and will be loyal forever. Lucille is active and loves to play fetch. She will throw the ball/toy back to you to engage you! On her walks, Lucille is interested in everything she sees and smells. She could use a bit of leash training to contain her excitement. She loves her brother Dante, and they play well together, but she was never socialized with other dogs, so a home as an only dog, or with her brother are ideal for her. Lucille is a powerhouse looking for a safe, experienced shepherd-savvy home.

Story
Dalton is a spitfire! He is a busy, bouncy, nosy puppy who thinks that he is the center of the universe. Soon after arriving at GSROC, Dalton bounced his way into a fractured leg, so he had to wear a splint for several weeks. He found that most unflattering and annoying and he had a lot to say about it. Dalton is out of his splint now and learning boundaries. His ideal home will be familiar with a bossy puppy. He loves to play with other dogs. Dalton is fearful of strangers at first, but quickly warms up once he knows that he is safe. We recommend a home with older children as he doesn’t care for bikes, skateboards or roller skates. Dalton is a diamond in the rough that just needs a little polish. Someone patient, gentle and with GSD experience is all it will take to get him on the path to success.

Story
Buddy Boy was found with no collar, tag or chip. Good Samaritans tried and tried to find his original family, but no one ever stepped forward. Buddy is a rough and tumble kinda guy, approximately 6 years old according to our vet. Buddy is currently on canned puppy food and some supplements to balance out his gut health and help him feel better. Buddy needs a patient and gentle, but experienced hand. He bonds quickly and loves nothing more than to be around his person. He is house trained and excellent inside, very mellow, but he is a powerhouse on walks. Buddy has a very loyal and protective disposition. He is independent and smart and attentive. However, he can be protective of his resources as he gets to know new people. Buddy hasn’t received much socialization around other animals in his life and has decided he likes being an only dog and having all of the attention. Buddy is ready to please his person but needs some patient coaching on just what that means. Buddy Boy would thrive in a quiet, adult home where he can be your loyal companion.

Story
Knight is a gorgeous boy who has known trauma in his life. While playing frisbee, he fell into an empty spa and broke his back! We were heartbroken when we heard this news and made room in our lifeboat for him. Knight has spent time in rehab determined to overcome this injury. His triumphant return shows his spirit and true GSD-like determination. When this boy decides he is going to achieve something….he shows true grit until he does. Knight can walk, run and jump now – but he really needs to keep all 4 feet on the floor. You see – Knight truly believes he can fly! But, we all know he can’t. He needs a loving family who will care for him and not let him get hurt again. Knight walks about a mile each day but mostly loves to play with his toys. He admits he may have a bit of ball OCD but knows he’s cute enough to carry it off. This boy is strong and is loves to play tug of war with his ball too. Knight has gone through a lot in his short live and needs to be the only dog in the family. He knows he is one incredibly intelligent and handsome guy. He firmly believes with a dog like him in your life – you don’t need anything else. Come meet this boy and fall in love. Check out his latest video where you can see his happy and bouncy self. Knight is ready to find a home and family who will love and cherish him. He has lots of love to give and deserves a safe and loving home.
