Story
My family and I have made the EXTREMELY difficult decision to put our dog Buddy up for adoption. He is a great dog, but our hectic schedules and lifestyles don’t allow us to give him what he needs. Buddy was a shelter dog. He’s approximately two years old and we were told that he is a Jindo and Lab Retriever mix. He has been indoor dog since we adopted him, is great with people, kids, and our other dog. We trust him completely with our five year old and he plays great with her and our nephews. He is very vocal and jumpy but not aggressive. He’s VERY afraid of loud noises and is terrified of fireworks. We love him but he deserves more. He is high energy and stubborn and needs an owner with more time and a more active lifestyle that will give him the opportunity to run and get his wiggles out. He is neutered, chipped and has all his shots.

Story
Keanu is a happy-go-lucky little dude! This sweet senior loves to play with his toys! Keanu also loves to go for walks in the neighborhood and even enjoys car rides! He follows his foster family everywhere they go. Keanu is housebroken as well. He gets along great with smaller dogs and pays no attention to the big ones when he meets them. Keanu does have a chronic condition called Spondylosis in his spine. He is on medication for this and will be for life. This doesn’t seem to slow him down but it is why we recommend a home with older children and small dogs so as to not risk injury. Keanu does great on his meds and doesn’t seem to be in pain. If you’re looking for a funny little guy to hang out with and be your best friend look no further!    April 18, 2024, 4:29 pm

Story
Ridgina, a charming Rhodesian Ridgeback mix, is ready to steal your heart and become your newest family member! Rescued from a nearby shelter where she was found as an emaciated stray in a field, Ridgina's journey has been one of resilience and hope. At approximately 4 years old, Ridgina has already shown incredible strength and spirit. Thanks to a caring foster, she's on her way to being nourished back to health with a new vet recommended diet that is more consistent and tailored to her needs. While awaiting the results of her fecal test, her fosters report her poops look solid and healthy. Currently, Ridgina is also waiting for her rabies shot and spay until she has gained more weight. Her fosters are closely monitoring her progress and plan to reevaluate her condition in 2-3 weeks from her last appointment (2/29/24). Despite her challenging past, Ridgina is a loving soul who adores cuddles and playtime. She enjoys squeaky toys and loves spending time with her foster human and dog siblings. Her foster family is actively learning more about Ridgina and committed to working through any potential behaviors as they come up. If you're ready to open your heart and home to Ridgina and give her the second chance she deserves, don't hesitate to submit an adoption application on our website: www.barksoflove.org. Your love and care could be the missing piece to Ridgina's happily ever after! Let's give Ridgina the forever home she's been dreaming of. Adopt her today!April 18, 2024, 4:29 pm

Story
Sweet Nova was found as a stray in an alley exhibiting signs of severe neglect, but now she’s ready to steal your heart. Though a little shy at first, Nova blossoms into the most loving companion once she warms up to you. She’s always eager to cuddle up and be near her humans, making every moment together special. Nova also enjoys leisurely walks and is a champ at sleeping through the night and settles into her crate with minimal fuss. While she might let out a few cries in her crate at first, redirecting her attention quiets her down in no time. This intelligent girl is a toy enthusiast and even entertains herself by tossing them around. She’s doing great with potty training, reliably going after meals without fail. If you’re ready to welcome this loving, playful, and well-behaved furry friend into your family, submit an application to meet Nova today! &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143April 18, 2024, 4:29 pm

Story
Meet Squirrel, the resilient girl who was part of a trio rescued from an extreme hoarding situation at Devore Shelter months ago   &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Despite her challenging past, our incredible foster families have provided a safe haven for her to decompress. While Squirrel still grapples with anxiety, she's slowly rediscovering joy and the simple pleasures of being a dog. She finds solace in the company of other dogs and plays well with them, but human interaction remains a struggle. Although she happily accepts treats and will sit next to human friends on her terms, she's hesitant to receive pets from her fosters. We're immensely grateful to our understanding foster families, who exhibit the patience Squirrel needs to rebuild trust.    Squirrel has undergone her wellness exam, is up-to-date on vaccines, and is already spayed! Your continued support and donations towards her care are deeply appreciated.   We firmly believe there's someone out there for Squirrel, someone who understands the horrendous environment she escaped and is willing to work patiently with her through her trust and anxiety. If you're interested in meeting Squirrel, please apply for her adoption at www.barksoflove.org. Let's find Squirrel the loving home she deserves. April 18, 2024, 4:29 pm
