Story
Colby is a 1 year old dog. He needs to be walked about 2-3 times a day. He needs space where he can rome around. He is usually an outside dog but loves to be inside with his family sometimes. He loves treats and gets along with children and other dogs. He’s a rough player but he gets along with any type of dog. He was an outside dog and had a big backyard. Colby knows how to sit, stay and do a handshake. he needs a lot of attention and love. He was loved by his other family but we aren’t financiallyable to take care of his needs and don’t have the space for him to rome around and be a happy dog. he will brighten up your life and he will make your life more adventurous. He did that to mine in such short time. There is no adoption fee or money going to me. I just want to make sure colby goes to a good home because we all love him.

Story
Meet our precious Butterscotch. She is a Riverside Shelter survivor who was in danger of euthanasia due to having a seizure disorder. Butterscotch is a 1 year old Papillion/Corgi Mix and weighs about 12 lbs. She’s a sweet girl with a beautiful smile and a beautiful spirit. She’s resilient and strong. She currently lives in a foster home with other dogs and where someone is home 24/7. We are currently trying a new treatment for her seizures and are still trying to find the best approach to control them. Butterscotch has both grand mal seizures (seldomly) and focal seizures more frequently. Her forever family will need to be committed to her medicine regimen and also having patience with navigating her challenges. She will do best in a home with experienced dog owners who are patient and will also have the dedication to navigate through her challenges with her. She loves chew toys, she's very treat motivated, and she’s dog and cat friendly. She’s a happy girl with a beautiful spirit. She will bring her new family lots of love and joy. We are excited to help her find her new forever family. Adoption Interest applications are on our website www.jointhescars.org under “forms.” We thank you in advance for your interest in adopting one of our heroes and for your patience through the process. Thank you for choosing to rescue!

Story
Copper is a sweet 9 month old girl. We adopted her from a rescue who found her as a stray. Shortly after adopting her we learned that we were pregnant with our first child. Trying to balance this with her and our senior dog has been tough, so we have made the difficult decision to re-home her, as we can no longer give her the attention she deserves going forward. She is house trained and uses the dog door on her own to go in and out for potty. She knows her basic commands, she is very food motivated so training treats made teaching her easy. She loves to cuddle for naps and recharges her battery in the sunlight. We will be sad to part with her but know it is the best thing for her.

Story
Chewie is a real cute Yorkie who loves everyone! She likes to sleep at the foot bed and roll over to have her tummy rubbed. She is around 10 or 12 but has a lot of energy and folks ask if she is a puppy when we walk her. She grew up with another dog and three cats, but in dog parks fears the big dogs. She likes to go in the backyard a few times a day, but prefers to be inside. She barks at people who come near the home, so is good in alerting you to that, but is shy and loving to people when you let them in. She is "house trained" if you walk her after eating. If left alone in the home without walks, she will pee on pee pads and poop on the hard floor. We are relocating in July so need to find her a good home. She loves to sit with you and loves walks. Last exam was 12/26/2023. Her 3 yr Rabies vaccine was given then, so that up to date. She is. 8.8 lbs, 10+ years old.

Story
Hello everyone, I would like to be 100% transparent about our dog Choppa so anyone interested is not blind sided. Choppa is a very loving velcro dog like most Dobermans, he will follow you EVERYWHERE. He also has a lot of excitement, and is easily aroused in this excitement. He is crate trained, and loves attention like most Dobermans. Unfortunately, Choppa has severe separation anxiety and reactivity issues with male and small dogs the most. With female dogs he has co-existed fine in the past, as long as they were also around his size (80-90 pounds.) He is not leash trained and pulls hard on the leash. His tummy is also extremely sensitive and he does not do well when introduced to new foods in large quantities, mainly watery stool as a result. Unfortunately with work and soon to be school and our living situation, we have found it difficult to fulfill his needs as a working dog. Any questions please reach out!

Story
Faith was born in a park under a bush in Spring 2012 with her 5 siblings, and rescued, along with her Mom who was adopted out. She and her sister, Hope, (the white dog in the photos) lived with my family for 12 years. Hope recently passed away. They were raised in a home with 2 boys, and had multiple pet siblings over the years (I used to do rescue work myself). I am disabled, so while she does love to go for walks, she does not need them daily. She is trained to use a doggy door to go outside for potties, is current on all shots, flea prevention, and microchipped. Her rabies shot expires in 2026. She asks permission before hopping up on the sofa or a bed. She is the best girl and looooves belly rubs. My landlord decided to sell our home, and despite looking for 3 months, I could not find any place that allowed pets. Please consider giving Faith a loving home for her golden years or buy me a house so I can! (Haha, that is a joke, sort of.)
