Wingate is named after the sandstone layer that makes for really great crack climbing. A bit of background: While living on the road, my boyfriend and I came across a litter of 5 puppies abandoned in Southeast Utah. We managed to find homes for the littermates and wanted to keep him and his sister. However ultimately, we can’t keep two dogs with our current lifestyle. A bit about him: We have had him since he was 7-8 weeks old. We were told his litter likely comes from the Navajo Reservation, and that “Rez Dogs are good dogs”, with long lifespans and few health issues. He has an incredibly sweet and calm temperament. He would probably make a great therapy dog. He is food motivated and is easy to train. He knows so many basic tricks (sit, down, leave it, come and so much more). He‘s excellent on leash and we’ve been socializing him in many scenarios and working on impulse control so he’s already very relaxed in public. He also travels well in the car.
