Story
Lexi is a sweet, soulful girl who is estimated to be around 2 years old—though she could easily be a bit younger. From the moment you meet her, it’s clear that she’s craving affection, reassurance, and a place where she truly belongs. She loves being close to her people and is happiest either curled up in your lap or right by your side. Lexi has clearly had some training and is eager to please. She responds to her name, knows cues like leave it, walks nicely on leash, and has excellent car manners. She’s gentle, attentive, and very tuned in to her humans. While Lexi is still learning how to play with other dogs, she truly wants to join in. With time, patience, and positive exposure, she’s expected to gain confidence and learn the ropes from her foster siblings. Her heart is wide open—she just wants to be accepted and loved. Lexi would do best in a calm, loving home where she can continue to build confidence and soak up all the affection she’s been missing. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who wants nothing more than to be your best friend, Lexi may be the perfect match. Story
➡️ Adoption Application: https://frrescue.knack.com/db#adopter-application/ This handsome Golden Retriever is named Abbott because he's a bit of a comedian - spend a little time with him and he'll have you laughing in minutes. Given this, and his need for continuing education, we couldn't help but make the connection to the show Abbott Elementary whose themes align with this beautiful Golden Retriever: 1) Untapped Potential: Abbot's high energy and personality invites the need for guidance and structure. 2) Growth Through Guidance: Abbott is making progress with patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement. 3) Good Intentions, Imperfect Execution: Abbott's well-meaning nature is sometimes expressed in chaotic or comedic ways. 4) Joy Amid Chaos: Abbott brings laughter and warmth even while testing boundaries. 5) Supportive Environment Matters: Abbot thrives when given encouragement, understanding, and clear expectations. While he knows sit and down and takes treats oh-so-nicely, he still needs to curb some of his excitable behaviors, counter surfing, begging, and mouthiness. He is a big, handsome boy weighing about 100 pounds and would benefit from losing a little extra weight...especially since he thinks he's a lap dog. He's 2 years old and a confident, happy, curious, loving dog. Abbott sleeps in his crate at night and loves hanging out in it too. Belly rubs are one of Abbott's favorite past times and he enjoys chasing the water stream from a hose.  Abbott was lovingly surrendered to us by his family who cared for him deeply, but after welcoming a new baby, they realized Abbott wasn’t getting the exercise and mental stimulation he needs to thrive. If Abbott sounds like the star pupil you've been looking to share your home with, fill out an application.

Story
This 5-year-old Shepherd/Lab mix (we know his mom and she's a black Lab) is the perfect blend of loyal companion and easygoing best friend. Benny comes when called and has terrific manners, waiting until you say "OK" before heading out the door or enjoying his meals. Did we say he's food motivated? He sure is and it makes him a great lover of training sessions. He could be an easy dog to teach all kinds of tricks because he's really smart. Benny does well in the car and loves to go on adventures to new places. His enthusiasm for walks can sometimes get the better of him, especially if he spies a lizard or two, but his foster mom has been working with him on loose leash walking and he's doing great. In truth, Benny is really happiest when he's at home with his people. He loves being by your side, will follow you around the house, cuddle, act like a lap dog if you let him. If you work at home, he will be your quiet companion not interrupting phone or Zoom calls, just snoozing at your feet. He is perfectly house trained and sleeps in his dog bed through the night. Of course, if you want him to, he would LOVE to share the bed with you. Benny doesn't beg for food and won't chew your belongings or rugs or baseboards; he's way past that stage. Just roll a ball in his direction and he's your friend for life. Benny has lived harmoniously with cats and two other dogs, but he can be selective so careful intros are always best practice. He also shared his first home with a couple of children and proved to be a very gentle buddy. Benny thrives in a calm, kind environment, where someone is home most of the time. Most of all, he wants to be by your side, wherever you are. If you’re looking for a devoted, low-maintenance, and loving companion, Benny’s your guy. **Follow Benny on Instagram: @frr.bennyboy](https://www.instagram.com/frr.bennyboy/)** **Apply to meet him — your new shadow is waiting!**

Story
Gemma is a very pretty chocolate Lab mix, estimated to be between 18–24 months old, with the perfect blend of playful energy and sweet affection. At just 48 pounds, she’s a petite Lab with a winning personality. She arrived in rescue underweight after giving birth to puppies, but now she’s thriving, fully vetted, spayed, and ready for a fresh start with a family of her own. What truly makes Gemma special is her joyful, loving nature. She’s the kind of dog who lights up every room she walks into — always happy, eager to make friends, and happiest when she’s close to her people. She loves other dogs and plays nicely with pups both big and small. Her play bow is the best ever. Smart, food-motivated, and eager to please, Gemma is picking up training quickly and already learning great manners, including mastering “four on the floor” greetings. She’s wonderful on walks, obsessed with fetch, and would happily spend her afternoons chasing tennis balls and soaking up attention. Gemma already brings the ball back and is quickly learning the final step — dropping it at your feet. With her intelligence and desire to please, there’s no doubt she’ll master it in no time. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will bring affection, fun, and nonstop joy into your home, Gemma is ready to meet you.

Story
Meet Penelope – the bravest cuddlebug you'll ever meet! Penelope is one of the sweetest souls we’ve ever rescued, and she’s finally ready to find her forever home. After enduring unimaginable trauma early in life, Penelope landed in a shelter where she was placed on the euthanasia list due to overcrowding. Thankfully, we were able to step in just in time and begin her journey to healing. During her initial veterinary assessment, we discovered something heartbreaking — Penelope was missing her tongue. We’ll never know exactly what happened, but from that moment on, it became our mission to help her heal, both physically and emotionally. Now, months later, Penelope is thriving in foster care and full of love to give. She adores people — especially kids! She loves following little ones around to see what they’re up to, and being a part of playtime is her favorite. She’s a total cuddlebug who wants nothing more than to snuggle up with her people. When she’s not curled up with you, she enjoys sunbathing in the yard or snoozing peacefully in her crate. Penelope is also a social butterfly with other dogs — both big and small! She lives with two canine foster siblings and absolutely lights up when friends come over for playdates. While she prefers the energy of larger dogs for more active play, she’s gentle and respectful with smaller pups, too. The only thing on her “no thanks” list? Cats. You might be wondering about her care needs — especially with her missing tongue. Thankfully, it’s very manageable! She eats “mini meatballs” twice a day and has made amazing progress, transforming from underweight and frail to strong, healthy, and absolutely beautiful. Penelope has shown us nothing but resilience, love, and joy — now it’s time for her to share all of that with a forever family.

Story
Meet Frappuccino! Frappuccino is a 3-year-old, 80 lb mastiff/pit bull/Great Dane mix with a big body and an even bigger heart. He’s healthy, neutered, microchipped, and ready for a home of his own. In foster care, he’s proven to be the total package. Gentle, playful, and incredibly respectful in the home, he’s fully potty trained and crate trained. At bedtime, he happily tucks himself into his crate and sleeps through the night without a peep. During the day, he’s just as easygoing, lounging nearby while you work or keeping a watchful eye on the house. Frappuccino is a medium-energy boy who loves a good routine. His perfect day includes a long walk, lots of fetch (his absolute favorite), and time spent with his people. He’s very toy motivated and eager to learn, making him a great candidate for continued training. He adores people of all ages, including kids, and is friendly and respectful when meeting new faces. In the home, he enjoys the company of other dogs and prefers having a companion to hang out with. On leash, he can get a little excited, but he responds very well to corrections and guidance. He’ll do best with a confident handler who can continue working with him. He’s well-mannered indoors, doesn’t get into things he shouldn’t, and settles nicely. A home with a secure yard is ideal so he can run, play, and burn off energy doing what he loves most: chasing balls. Frappuccino is looking for a family who will give him structure, consistency, and lots of love. In return, you’ll get a loyal, affectionate companion who just wants to be part of the action.
