Story
Who can resist those cute freckles and ears? Nate is about 2 years old and has the happy energy you would expect from a young Lab mix. He loves to play fetch, has shown promise when introduced to K9 scent work, is a whiz at doggie food puzzles, loves his toys and can also be chill and cuddle on the couch. He is crate trained, fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped and weighs in at a trim 51 pounds. Enthusiastic and ready to go for a walk anytime (see the video where a 10 year old is walking him), Nate also loves to play with other friendly dogs and could be a best friend to a dog already in the home. Smart and athletic, patient and well mannered at outdoor cafes, he would be a great companion for people who want to include him in their daily activities. Nate is ready to find his forever family, so head on over to the adoption page and fill out an application!

Story
Meet Hudson, just a sweet and furry homebody! Hudson's original family had to make the tough decision to surrender him to us when their work situation involved transfer to an overseas location. A Lab/Great Pyrenees mix, Hudson will be 4 years old in October. He is healthy, vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. His mellow, affectionate personality reflects that he grew up in a home with two other dogs, a couple of cats and a little boy. They called him their gentle giant, an accurate description since he is very gentle with everyone. He weighs 85 pounds. He loves being outside on the grass where he can chill, enjoy nature and watch the butterflies. Hudson prefers lounging around the house and is totally content not going on walks or hikes. Some of his best qualities are that he is friendly, good with kids and pets and housebroken. Even though he is 3 and a half, he is a low energy dog. If you're looking for a sweet, calm dog that wants nothing more than the security of a loving home and companionship with his people, Hudson may be your boy.

Story
Meet Sloan! While her past has been riddled with trauma (she experienced a home invasion resulting in the death of two canine companions, and was also attacked by her kennel mate while at the shelter), Sloan shows incredible forgiveness and invites/requests that you show her plenty of love! Despite all she has endured, she has just the sweetest, most tender personality (she definitely knows how to get you with “the eyes”). At the perfect age of 7-9, Sloan has plenty of pep for long walks and fun outings, and certainly enjoys her down time (aka snoozing for most of the day, as dogs do). Sloan gets along fantastically with her foster bro, but appreciates her space with dogs while on walks. Proper introductions are a must. Sloan has some understandable anxiety due to her past, so a patient and gentle home is important for her to experience safety and security. If you can give your heart to Sloan, she will undoubtedly give you hers.

Story
Phoenix is our “second chance at life and rising from the ashes” puppy mill dog from Ohio. When this 2-year-old Golden Retriever came to us he was very shut down, fearful and always laying in a corner with his head towards the wall. But we are excited to see how much progress he has made. He is shy and timid, however we are confident that he will become a fun loving and affectionate guy. We have seen him opening up to his foster canine brother by running and playing with him. He has even learned to fetch and has discovered soft toys. Eating is a favorite thing for him, and he has even trusted his foster to hand feed him. We did not know that landscaping was one of his talents until he chose an area to till the earth and then lay in his creation. He loves being outside so his new home must have space for him to run and romp as he is still unsure about the big world beyond. He will also need a doggie sibling to lean on and mentor him along his journey in becoming a treasured and loved family member.

Story
Wyatt lives up to his name; Brave and Courageous Rescued from an area shelter, Wyatt had come in as a stray.  They suspected that he had been attacked because of the multiple injuries and lacerations on him.  He also had hundreds of foxtails embedded in his fur that took days and finally a medicated bath to clear out.  When we saw the photos sent out by the shelter, we knew that we had to help.  Through it all, Wyatt has been sweet and very tolerant of all the handling he needed, even by strangers. This handsome boy is young (about 6/8 months old) and was in desperate need of some extra TLC and medical care.  We are happy to report that he is healthy and healing well.   He is meeting lots of new friends, human and dog, and seeks out affection and play.  He loves toys, which he likes to carry, toss and de-stuff himself.  He is comfortable on the soft couch and dog-bed but he also likes hanging out in the backyard.  He is currently getting some basic training which includes leash walking.  He appears to be house trained but, as with any puppy, his new home will need to supervise and reward where he needs to do his business.  Wyatt is gaining the confidence, training and experience a youngster needs.  We anticipate that he will be a large adult as he is still growing.    He is not going to be the dog to go on long walks or hikes but he will enjoy playtime.   If you are looking for  a very sweet, affectionate boy who is looking to love and be loved, then Wyatt is your guy.

Story
Emma is beautiful, affectionate and perfect! Our rescue partner sent this amazing dog to us after the local shelter had called them for help.  7 year old Emma arrived immediately after having a mass removed from her right rear leg.  She has been the absolute sweetest and easiest dog from the get-go.  She moved right in with three other dogs and made herself at home on the couch, on the bed and always with her foster people.  She is house trained and knows some basic commands.  She enjoys going on walks and doesn’t even mind when her car rides end up at the vet, and she has been to the Vet many times.  Sadly, Emma had a mass on her shoulder and the results from the first mass removed came back as cancer.  Emma had another surgery to remove the new mass and to get better margins on her leg.   She has been a perfect patient and even likes to greet everyone when she visits her doctors.  Unfortunately, because the cancer can come back Emma will require regular visits to her vet to monitor for more growths.  In the meantime, life is great, happy, fun and full of love for sweet Emma.
