Story
Amber is a sweet, confident, loving, goofy gal. She loves long walks, hikes, and treats. She is very mellow and does well if left home alone while you work. She has a strong spirit and a silly personality and has a lot of love in her heart. Amber is about 5 years old and was rehomed with us from another loving home 4 years ago. Since then, she has been a member of our family alongside our other dog, Reggie. This past year my husband and I welcome our first human baby. While Amber has been respectful of our child and his space, she has had a tough time with Reggie. Amber has gone through years of private training with a behavioralist to combat leash reactivity and has done very well. Until recently, with all the new change, it has been a difficult transition for Amber. After much tearful consideration we believe it would be best to rehome Amber. Amber would do best in a home where she can be the only dog. She has done very well with our baby, but not tested with kids.

Story
🐾 Meet Jack Jack is a 9-year-old Husky with a big heart and an even bigger derpy personality. Hes one of those dogs who makes people laugh without trying goofy, curious, and full of love. he was the first and only puppy in his litter, so he grew up strong and ended up bigger than both of his parents. Despite his size, he’s a gentle soul who just wants connection and comfort. He loves playing ball, but only in short burst about 10 minutes before he happily gives in to his lazy side and settles down. Hes the perfect mix of playful and chill, making him a great companion for someone who enjoys light activity followed by lots of downtime. Jack is: Loving and affectionate Curious and sweet Goofy/derpy in the best way More short play, long relax these days He would thrive in a home that appreciates a senior dog with a young spirit, someone patient, kind, and ready to give him the calm, stable love he deserves.

Story
Meet our precious Butterscotch. She is a Riverside Shelter survivor who was in danger of euthanasia due to having a seizure disorder. Butterscotch is a 1 year old Papillion/Corgi Mix and weighs about 12 lbs. She’s a sweet girl with a beautiful smile and a beautiful spirit. She’s resilient and strong. She currently lives in a foster home with other dogs and where someone is home 24/7. We are currently trying a new treatment for her seizures and are still trying to find the best approach to control them. Butterscotch has both grand mal seizures (seldomly) and focal seizures more frequently. Her forever family will need to be committed to her medicine regimen and also having patience with navigating her challenges. She will do best in a home with experienced dog owners who are patient and will also have the dedication to navigate through her challenges with her. She loves chew toys, she's very treat motivated, and she’s dog and cat friendly. She’s a happy girl with a beautiful spirit. She will bring her new family lots of love and joy. We are excited to help her find her new forever family. Adoption Interest applications are on our website www.jointhescars.org under “forms.” We thank you in advance for your interest in adopting one of our heroes and for your patience through the process. Thank you for choosing to rescue!

Story
Radio was adopted from a shelter in Pomona at 8 months old. She was sick in the shelter, but after a week of TLC she came out of her shell. Radio is a very high energy and smart dog. She goes on three walks everyday and loves car rides. She is still young and very wary of other dogs and people (mostly men). We're looking to place her in a home with lots of room for her to run (she's still learning to play fetch) and owners that can match her high energy. We're still training her to not nip at us or bite while playing. An experienced dog owner would be best for her. Radio is a very good girl, we're just having trouble keeping up with her. Some supplies provided.

Story
Chani was rescued from the L.A. shelter, where she was listed as a Cairn Terrier mix. She is about 4 years old and weighs a healthy 12lbs. They said she was super sweet and friendly, and they were not wrong. Chandi can be a little shy at first, but will let you approach her if she knows she will get pets or treats. After that she can be your best friend. Needless to say, she is great with people and just wants to be near her person and snuggle up next to them. She loves pillows too and when she has her favorite, she does not share. She is great with other dogs. They all seem to love her sweet nature. Chandi blended in immediately with her foster dogs and found a playmate with one of them. They chase each other until they can’t no more. She can be talkative, like she’s trying to tell you something. You just have to figure out what. She is good on walks, uses a doggie door, is potty trained and loves cuddles. We have her updated on her vaccines, is spayed and micro chipped. We think she is deserving of all the love, affection & commitment that a new pet parent or family could offer her. If she sounds like the right fit for you or have any questions, please email us at heartandhomerescueorg@gmail.com.

Story
Meet Simon – A Shy Guy with a Big Heart and Terrier Spark Say hello to Simon, a 2-year-old Terrier mix with a curious mind, playful energy, and a heart that's slowly learning to trust. Rescued from a shelter, Simon is taking life one paw-step at a time — and he’s looking for a special someone to walk beside him on his journey. Simon may be shy at first, especially around new people. He’ll need patience, consistency, and someone who understands that good things take time. But if you're willing to earn his trust, the reward is priceless: a loyal companion with a goofy personality, a love for toys, and a real zest for life. He absolutely thrives with other dogs—especially playful ones—and would do great in a home with a confident canine friend to help show him the ropes. Whether it’s chasing toys or engaging in a friendly game of tug, Simon lights up around dogs. Simon’s Highlights: ?? Great with other dogs ?? Food-motivated & quick to learn ?? Loves toys and playtime ?? Curious and full of energy ?? House-trained (or nearly there!) True to his Terrier roots, Simon is smart, spirited, and always on the lookout for something interesting. He’ll benefit from continued training, socialization, and mental stimulation—think puzzle toys, scent work, and structured play. An experienced adopter who knows the Terrier temperament will be the best match for Simon’s bright but sensitive nature. If you’re the kind of person who finds joy in helping a shy dog come out of his shell, Simon could be the perfect companion for you. All he needs is a bit of guidance, a lot of love, and a home that understands the beauty of second chances. ? Email us at heartandhomerescueorg@gmail.com ? Or call 951-708-0626 to learn more about Simon.
