Story
This is sweet Mellow. She is a German Shepherd mix and she is the cuddliest puppy! She loves giving kisses and getting belly rubs. I got Mellow from a new doggie owner that wasn’t able to keep her due to living situation. I’ve had Mellow for a month, however, it has become so hard to give her all the attention she needs as she still is a puppy and needs a lot of attention and training. She is currently 10 months old and is up to current with her shots. She is very friendly with kids and dogs. I believe she would have a blast in a house with a yard. But she is also a great house company. I just think she needs a little more training with chewing things when she’s bored.

Story
URGENT!!!!!  Carter is an eight year old american bulldog/sttaffordshire terrier mix.  he is quite loving and sweet with people.  he is best as the only dog. currently he is living with one other calm dog and gets along fine.  he will get excited and can be assertive with energentic dogs.  Carter is a good dog, he just needs the right forever home. he has been in foster almost ONE YEAR!  We need to get him his own home asap!!!  We rescued him from the shelter where they were going to euthanize him for his imperfect behavior with other dogs.   While he is safe and in foster, we are hoping to get a home for Carter sooner rather than later.  Once adopted, we can save another dog at risk of being killed in the shelter system. Please check out our facebook and website for more pictures and updates on all our available dogs.  818-636-1522. goldenyearsdogsanctuary@yahoo.com  ##1263726##

Story
Celsius is adorable!  she is loving, friendly, kind, gets along great with other dogs.  She is playful, energetic, but puppy crazy energetic. She would be the perfect pet for an active person who likes to take walks, or hike.  She is housebroken. She has no history of a bite or aggressive behavior towards people.  She is not doing great in our sanctuary with many other dominant dogs.  She would do best in a home as the diva of the hourse!. She does have a high prey drive.  NO CATS required in her new home.  We saved her from certain death at the SEAACA shelter. She had kennel cough, a fever and no appetite.  Of course we treated her and now she is great!  She really needs a home of her own with someone who can give her attention and love.  The shelter said she is 10 years old. her frosted face makes it seem that way, but she acts more like a 6-7 year old. ##1452021##

Story
Catya needs a forever home! She can be a forever foster or adopted. She would do best in a home with a large yard. She has medium energy and would love to be able to run around.  She is currently working with a trainer as she can be leash reactive and gets nervous in her current foster home.  We think she wants doggy friends, but her current fosters are not able to do any dog introductions.  She is just too much dog for her current fosters. Here is her story: The shelters are so full that 72 hour notices are being given on nice adoptable dogs!  Catya,  called Kona from the Downey shelter, found herself incarcerated on December 8, 2022.  She is a 10 year old Germán shepherd that is friendly with people and nervous with other dogs.  She was given a 72 hour notice after only being in the shelter for two months. She was on our radar but we needed a foster to save her. Luckily someone reached out to us.  We need a home for Ctya asap. She is a nice dog. She deserves a good home. ##1728529##

Story
URGENT NEED FOR A HOME!!!!!!  Crankshaft, is a 10-year-old neutered male staffie that came to the shelter as a stray and sat in a kennel for 100 days! He was a staff and volunteer favorite. And yet, no one wanted to adopt him!  We rescued him on September 22, 2023. Crankshaft is very friendly and sweet with people. He is great on a leash and can even walk with other dogs by his side or in the yard. . He was great with other dogs at the shelter in play groups.  He is great with female dogs, but does not like male dogs.  As such, he has to stay kenneled.  So we saved him from 100 days in a small kennel at the shelter to a large kennel with us.  HE NEEDS A HOME!  he is the sweetest dog!!!!!!!   We did not save him to put him back in a cage. He needs a home NOW! ##1851633##

Story
Carnation is a 12 year old siberian husky who we rescued from the Downey Shelter on October 16, 2023. She came to the shelter as a 12 year old stray. Despite her appearance, she is super friendly with people. We have been introducing her to the pack and she is friendly with other dogs, both male and female.  When she first arrived she was not spayed and had a huge tumor in her eye. As can be guessed, she was leary of dogs and "greets" them with a growl and a jump,   She has been spayed and had her tumor removed. She is still not living with the pack and therefore has to be separated.  We  did not save her to put her in a kennel. She needs a home now!  She is the sweetest, most people friendly dog.  She gives licks and just wants to be with you.   We are so saddened to see her confined to a large kennel. She needs a home!!!! We desperately need a foster or adopter for her.  ##1851635##
