Story
🐾 Meet Felix – Looking for His Forever Home! ❤️ Meet Felix, an adorable young male, approximately 1 year old, who appears to be a Maltipoo with possibly a little Poodle mix. Felix's story began with a frightening start. He was found darting through traffic on a busy street before a kind Good Samaritan stepped in and saved his life. He was scanned for a microchip and lovingly cared for while waiting over three weeks for an owner to come forward—but sadly, no one ever did. Thankfully, Felix is now safe, loved, and ready to find the forever family he truly deserves. ❤️ Why You'll Love Felix 🚗 Loves car rides 🐕 Excellent on a leash and a true gentleman in public 🐶 Gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes and loves to play 🐱 Currently living in a foster home with several cats and does great with them 🏡 Doing an excellent job with potty training and learning his house manners in foster care 😊 Confident, affectionate, and always happy to be around people Felix is currently living with four large dogs and multiple cats, making him a wonderful candidate for a home with other friendly pets. 🩺 Medical Care Felix is currently being scheduled for his neuter and will be fully vaccinated before adoption. Since he arrived without any history, we're making sure he receives everything he needs to begin his new life healthy and happy. 🏡 The Perfect Home At this time, we believe Felix would do best in a home with older children or adults only. Felix is also learning what it means to be part of a loving family. He's making excellent progress with potty training and is doing wonderfully in his foster home. He is eager to learn, responds well to routine and positive reinforcement, and continues to gain confidence every day. Every day he blossoms a little more into the happy, playful, loving companion he was always meant to be. ❤️ Could You Be Felix's Forever Family? If you'd like to learn more about Felix or schedule a time to meet him, please call or text (626) 488-7487.OR, Email: oneheartrescue@yahoo.com for an application. PLEASE NOTE: The Adopt A Pet adoption applications DO NOT reach us directly. We use our OWN application forms so please email us or TEXT/CALL providing your email address so we can send you an application. Thank you! An adoption application is the first step in the process, and we're always happy to answer any questions you may have. Felix has already been given a second chance at life. Now he's waiting for someone to give him the forever home he's been dreaming of. Could that be you? 🐾💙 "Rescued from traffic. Restored with love. Ready for forever." 🐶💕

Story
Meet Samantha—better known as Sami! This adorable 4-year-old Shih Tzu is a tiny 9-pound bundle of love who is ready to find her forever family. Sami is an absolute love bug. She loves nothing more than cuddling with her person, playing with her small foster dog friends, and curling up beside you on the couch. She has a sweet, affectionate personality and would be happy living with other small dogs or being the center of attention as your one-and-only companion. Sami is house trained, uses potty pads, and is learning to walk nicely on a leash. She’s the kind of little dog who will quickly become your shadow, your snuggle buddy, and your best friend. She is in great health, spayed, up to date on her vaccinations, and recently had a dental. Sami is ready to fill that special empty spot in someone’s heart. Could you be the family she’s been waiting for? No apartment living. No out of state adoptions.

Story
Say hello to Titus! Titus is a distinguished little gentleman with a big heart. At just 2 years old and 12 pounds, he still has some puppy energy and loves playing with his foster dog friends. When he’s ready to relax, Titus enjoys settling in with his foster dad to watch Perry Mason reruns on those hot afternoons. Titus would do wonderfully with other small dogs or would be perfectly happy being your one-and-only. He is house trained, uses potty pads, and is learning to walk nicely on a leash. Titus can be a little shy at first and may take a moment to warm up. But give him just a little time, and before you know it, he’ll be your very best friend. Titus is in great health, neutered, and up to date on his vaccinations. He’s ready to find the perfect family to call his own! Could Titus be your new bestie? No apartment living. No out of state adoptions.

Story
Buddy was born in October 2018 and is about to turn 8 years old. He was given to my son as a gift and has been a very special part of our family. Since we don’t know his exact birth date, we celebrate his birthday during the last week of October. Buddy is playful, loving, and still acts like a puppy at times—that’s just his personality! He loves playing ball, swimming, hiking, and being outdoors. He also loves peanut butter, watermelon, and salmon. He is smart, follows commands, and understands both English and Spanish. Buddy is great with kids and enjoys spending time with people. Buddy cannot be around other dogs, especially small dogs, so he needs to be the only dog in the home. I’m looking for a loving home where someone can give Buddy plenty of attention, play with him, and enjoy an active lifestyle with him. Most importantly, I want him to be loved, cared for, and treated like the special companion he is.

Story
Meet Maple! This pretty girl originally came to our rescue in 2020 when we rescued her from a Riverside Shelter. She is now 6 years old. It was immediately apparent that Maple did not come from ideal circumstances. She was extremely fearful of humans. When approached she would run, yelp, and scream to try to avoid being touched. She had stress patching and wouldn’t eat dog food out of a bowl, however, she knows exactly what people's food is. She was placed with a great foster that worked with her on trusting people. Slowly she began to gain confidence and progress into such a good girl. Once she had some progression and was easier to work with Maple was adopted. We were so happy that she had a home that could accommodate her. Through the years of regular pictures and videos, she seemed to be living her best life with her family. She was going on trails with horses, camping, swimming in her pool, and keeping all the kids and dogs quiet and in line at her house. She grew to be a very independent dog but seems to dislike loud noises, people arguing or anyone touching her without her permission. Unfortunately, due to extremely unforeseen circumstances, Maple ended up at the Riverside Shelter at the end of October 2023. We pulled her as soon as the shelter would allow us to but it was still over a week and Maple became stressed and scared again. Maple was taken in by a new foster home to help her decompress and gain trust again. Although the shelter was hard on her she was definitely showing that she had progressed greatly throughout the years. Her current foster has allowed her to become independent, trusting, and even playful and loving at times with her person. She is still not a fan of being touched without permission but will let you know when she wants pets. Being picked up is still hard but with a blanket and some patience, it can be done. She loves to sit right next to you once you have settled on the couch or in bed. She can co-exist with other dogs and probably cats. We recommend a home with children 12 or older. Due to past trauma, she does not like leashes, collars, and harnesses, and therefore doesn’t go on walks. She enjoys her space, her treats, her blankets, and her person. Once she finds her person she will love and protect them for the rest of her life. She is currently using potty pads inside but will go outside, is crate trained and enjoys the sunlight and following her person around. If you would like to learn more about Maple to foster or adopt please email us at heartandhomerescueorg@gmail.com.

Story
Meet Simon – A Shy Guy with a Big Heart and Terrier Spark Say hello to Simon, a 2-year-old Terrier mix with a curious mind, playful energy, and a heart that's slowly learning to trust. Rescued from a shelter, Simon is taking life one paw-step at a time — and he’s looking for a special someone to walk beside him on his journey. Simon may be shy at first, especially around new people. He’ll need patience, consistency, and someone who understands that good things take time. But if you're willing to earn his trust, the reward is priceless: a loyal companion with a goofy personality, a love for toys, and a real zest for life. He absolutely thrives with other dogs—especially playful ones—and would do great in a home with a confident canine friend to help show him the ropes. Whether it’s chasing toys or engaging in a friendly game of tug, Simon lights up around dogs. Simon’s Highlights: ?? Great with other dogs ?? Food-motivated & quick to learn ?? Loves toys and playtime ?? Curious and full of energy ?? House-trained (or nearly there!) True to his Terrier roots, Simon is smart, spirited, and always on the lookout for something interesting. He’ll benefit from continued training, socialization, and mental stimulation—think puzzle toys, scent work, and structured play. An experienced adopter who knows the Terrier temperament will be the best match for Simon’s bright but sensitive nature. If you’re the kind of person who finds joy in helping a shy dog come out of his shell, Simon could be the perfect companion for you. All he needs is a bit of guidance, a lot of love, and a home that understands the beauty of second chances. ? Email us at heartandhomerescueorg@gmail.com ? Or call 951-708-0626 to learn more about Simon.
