Story
Puppy Kelpie is approximately 4month old female puppy. Her breed mix is possibly Australian Kelpie mixed with super cuteness. She is currently fostering in a home with other dogs and does wonderful with all. She is friendly with everyone and loves to play. She is crate trained and sleeps throughout the night with structured potty-training schedule as is being provided by her foster home. Kelpie would make an amazing companion for a family or person that is well versed with puppy raising and will continue to keep a structured schedule to help Kelpie grow into the best dog possible. She loves to play with toys and is a champ at fetching but definitely is still learning to bring the ball back and not paly 'keep away'. She is a lot of fun and is the cutest ever. Her color of fur is a gorgeous latte brown. Kelpie knows how to 'sit' and 'stay'... basic commands are being worked on currently. If you would like more information and an application for an opportunity to meet Kelpie, please Text/Call 626-488-7487 or you can also email: oneheartrescue@yahoo.com

Story
Rosie is Ready for Her Forever Home! Sweet Rosie was found tied up alone in the rain — no food, no water, or home. Thankfully, she’s now safe, warm, and surrounded by love in foster care. She’ll be spayed and fully vaccinated next week and will be ready to start her new life! Rosie is about 1 year old, 40 lbs. incredibly smart, friendly, and wonderfully social. She loves to play, especially with her puppy pals, enjoys car rides, and simply wants to be by your side. Whether it’s a hike, walk, swim, fun play date, or just relaxing at your feet during movie night, Rosie is happiest being part of the action (or the cuddle time). Our amazing rescuers and donors are generously providing her crate, bedding, food, and other goodies to get her comfortably settled into her forever home. Rosie is fully vaccinated and spayed. If you’d like to meet Rosie or learn more, please contact her foster at 512-850-8894.

Story
Chani was rescued from the L.A. shelter, where she was listed as a Cairn Terrier mix. She is about 4 years old and weighs a healthy 12lbs. They said she was super sweet and friendly, and they were not wrong. Chandi can be a little shy at first, but will let you approach her if she knows she will get pets or treats. After that she can be your best friend. Needless to say, she is great with people and just wants to be near her person and snuggle up next to them. She loves pillows too and when she has her favorite, she does not share. She is great with other dogs. They all seem to love her sweet nature. Chandi blended in immediately with her foster dogs and found a playmate with one of them. They chase each other until they can’t no more. She can be talkative, like she’s trying to tell you something. You just have to figure out what. She is good on walks, uses a doggie door, is potty trained and loves cuddles. We have her updated on her vaccines, is spayed and micro chipped. We think she is deserving of all the love, affection & commitment that a new pet parent or family could offer her. If she sounds like the right fit for you or have any questions, please email us at heartandhomerescueorg@gmail.com.

Story
Meet Simon – A Shy Guy with a Big Heart and Terrier Spark Say hello to Simon, a 2-year-old Terrier mix with a curious mind, playful energy, and a heart that's slowly learning to trust. Rescued from a shelter, Simon is taking life one paw-step at a time — and he’s looking for a special someone to walk beside him on his journey. Simon may be shy at first, especially around new people. He’ll need patience, consistency, and someone who understands that good things take time. But if you're willing to earn his trust, the reward is priceless: a loyal companion with a goofy personality, a love for toys, and a real zest for life. He absolutely thrives with other dogs—especially playful ones—and would do great in a home with a confident canine friend to help show him the ropes. Whether it’s chasing toys or engaging in a friendly game of tug, Simon lights up around dogs. Simon’s Highlights: ?? Great with other dogs ?? Food-motivated & quick to learn ?? Loves toys and playtime ?? Curious and full of energy ?? House-trained (or nearly there!) True to his Terrier roots, Simon is smart, spirited, and always on the lookout for something interesting. He’ll benefit from continued training, socialization, and mental stimulation—think puzzle toys, scent work, and structured play. An experienced adopter who knows the Terrier temperament will be the best match for Simon’s bright but sensitive nature. If you’re the kind of person who finds joy in helping a shy dog come out of his shell, Simon could be the perfect companion for you. All he needs is a bit of guidance, a lot of love, and a home that understands the beauty of second chances. ? Email us at heartandhomerescueorg@gmail.com ? Story
Meet Maple! This pretty girl originally came to our rescue in 2020 when we rescued her from a Riverside Shelter. She is now 6 years old. It was immediately apparent that Maple did not come from ideal circumstances. She was extremely fearful of humans. When approached she would run, yelp, and scream to try to avoid being touched. She had stress patching and wouldn’t eat dog food out of a bowl, however, she knows exactly what people's food is. She was placed with a great foster that worked with her on trusting people. Slowly she began to gain confidence and progress into such a good girl. Once she had some progression and was easier to work with Maple was adopted. We were so happy that she had a home that could accommodate her. Through the years of regular pictures and videos, she seemed to be living her best life with her family. She was going on trails with horses, camping, swimming in her pool, and keeping all the kids and dogs quiet and in line at her house. She grew to be a very independent dog but seems to dislike loud noises, people arguing or anyone touching her without her permission. Unfortunately, due to extremely unforeseen circumstances, Maple ended up at the Riverside Shelter at the end of October 2023. We pulled her as soon as the shelter would allow us to but it was still over a week and Maple became stressed and scared again. Maple was taken in by a new foster home to help her decompress and gain trust again. Although the shelter was hard on her she was definitely showing that she had progressed greatly throughout the years. Her current foster has allowed her to become independent, trusting, and even playful and loving at times with her person. She is still not a fan of being touched without permission but will let you know when she wants pets. Being picked up is still hard but with a blanket and some patience, it can be done. She loves to sit right next to you once you have settled on the couch or in bed. She can co-exist with other dogs and probably cats. We recommend a home with children 12 or older. Due to past trauma, she does not like leashes, collars, and harnesses, and therefore doesn’t go on walks. She enjoys her space, her treats, her blankets, and her person. Once she finds her person she will love and protect them for the rest of her life. She is currently using potty pads inside but will go outside, is crate trained and enjoys the sunlight and following her person around. If you would like to learn more about Maple to foster or adopt please email us at heartandhomerescueorg@gmail.com.

Story
Meet Max – Your Next Adventure Buddy and Snuggle Pro Looking for a dog who’s equal parts goofball, cuddle bug, and loyal companion? Meet Max, a 4-year-old neutered male with a heart of gold and a wagging tail that never quits. Weighing in at a lean 40 pounds, Max loves attention! He may look small on pictures, but he is as long as a retriever but has short legs. Max is the kind of dog who just wants to be where his people are. Whether it's snuggling on the couch, handing out kisses, or following you from room to room, he's happiest when he's close to those he loves. He’s playful, social, and especially fond of games like tug-of-war, which he’ll proudly win (or let you win, if he's feeling generous). What Max Loves: Long walks and outdoor adventures Playing with other dogs (he’s a social butterfly!) Toys, treats, and training time Being part of a family and showered with love What Max does not like: Going to the doctor Groomers Max has done wonderfully in his foster home, which includes both toddlers and older kids. He adores kids but should be supervised around the little ones — sometimes he forgets he’s not a tiny lap dog! He’s also perfectly content as a solo pet, as long as you’re ready to give him plenty of love, attention, and playtime. Max is smart, eager to please, and highly motivated by both treats and praise. He’s learned basic commands, does well with pottying outside and on pads, and is a great candidate for learning a doggie door. He's still working on keeping all four paws on the ground — he gets excited and jumps on people — but with firm, positive reinforcement, he's made progress. What Max Needs: A loving home with someone who’s ready to invest time in consistent training and daily exercise. He does great being left alone during the workday, especially if he’s had a walk or has a furry friend to hang out with. Max is more than ready to find his forever home — could it be with you? If you’re looking for a fun-loving, loyal companion who’ll keep you smiling for years to come, Max might just be your perfect match. Interested in meeting Max?
