ELSA: Labrador Retriever Mix/ Spayed Female /2.5 Years Old/ 43 lbs Elsa is a sweet, gentle soul who may be shy at first, but once she feels safe and loved, she blossoms into a very affectionate companion. She enjoys car rides and peaceful walks in the park. Marissa sleeps comfortably in a crate, gets along well with other dogs, and doesn’t chew or destroy things around her. Because of her difficult past, she can be a bit fearful, but she has never shown aggression. With patience and kindness, Elsa’s loving personality shines through—she wags her tail, plays, and shows just how happy she can be once she feels truly at home. Elsa and her companion were rescued last October from a homeless person (a drug addict) who abused them with sticks, kicks, and yelling. He stabbed her in the back, so the rescuer took them away and took her to the vet to treat her serious wound which is not totally healed. KARLA: Chiweenie Mix • Spayed Female • 2 Years Old • 17 lbs KARLA is a sweet, calm, and gentle little girl with a tender heart and a quiet way of showing how much she cares. She gets along beautifully with other dogs and is not a barker. She is affectionate, well-mannered, and crate-trained, making her an easy and loving companion. At first, Karla may seem a little independent, quietly taking in her surroundings and figuring out that she is finally safe. But as the day goes on, her sweet personality begins to shine. She seeks out companionship, enjoys being close to her people, and loves receiving affection. Once she trusts you, she wants nothing more than to feel loved and know that she belongs. Karla’s story is heartbreaking. She and three other dogs were rescued from the CAC (Canine Care Center) when they were down to their final hours. We were told that a man had brought them there to be euthanized. Their lives were in danger, and they had no way of knowing that someone would come for them. Thankfully, a rescuer stepped in and gave Karla and the other dogs the second chance they desperately needed. Instead of her story ending in a shelter, Karla now has the opportunity to begin a new chapter—a chapter filled with kindness, safety, love, and a family of her own. Karla has already survived the hardest part. Now she is waiting for someone to show her that her life was worth saving. She deserves a forever home where she will never again have to wonder if she is wanted. Although she can be shy and reserved at first, she is not aggressive. She simply needs a little patience and understanding to feel comfortable with new people. Once she begins to feel safe, she will approach on her own to ask for gentle pets, quietly showing you that she is ready to trust. Beneath her reserved nature is a sweet girl who deserves the opportunity to feel secure and loved. Zoe gets along well with other dogs, is not destructive, and is crate trained. She would thrive in a patient, loving home where she can settle in at her own pace, build confidence, and learn that the world can be a kind and beautiful place. Zoe's story is heartbreaking. After her previous owner, a person experiencing homelessness, passed away, Zoe and her little friend were left without anyone willing to take responsibility for them. Through no fault of their own, these two innocent dogs were facing the terrifying possibility of being surrendered to the Canine and Feline Care Center (CAC) for euthanasia. OMAR: Plott Hound Mix / Neutered Male / 1 Year Old / 35 lbs Omar is a cheerful, affectionate young boy with a gentle soul and a heart that is remarkably forgiving. After everything he has endured, he still wants nothing more than to be near people, feel safe, and receive the kindness he should have known from the very beginning. Omar sleeps peacefully in his crate, gets along well with other dogs, is not destructive, and enjoys going for walks in the park. He happily shares his bed and space and loves the simple comfort of being close to someone he trusts. There is something incredibly special about a dog who has been hurt by people yet still chooses to love them. Omar and his companion were rescued from a homeless man who subjected them to horrific abuse. They were beaten with sticks, kicked, and screamed at. Tragically, Omar's companion was also seriously stabbed in the back and needed immediate veterinary care. Their rescuer stepped in, took them away from the danger, and rushed her to the veterinarian for treatment. When Omar was rescued, he had every reason to be afraid of people. But instead of becoming bitter, he slowly began to show his true nature: a sweet, loving, trusting boy who simply needed someone to show him that he was finally safe. Omar did not choose the life he was given. He did not deserve the cruelty he experienced. But he still has so much love to give.
