Story
Hi everyone! I’m Slater, but my OCPBR family calls me Nugget. I was being given away when I was barely two weeks old, and just a wee nugget. (see what I did there?) Lucky for me, OCPBR scooped me up and has shown me how wonderful life can be. I’m now 3 years old and have been the luckiest pup with my foster homes. I have lots of foster siblings in my current home and get to go camping and on adventures often. I’m super energetic (but I also know how to chill) and need someone who’s going to play with me, so a home with a senior dog would not be the best fit for me. I am a silly, fun, young dog, but I do not like being hugged or restrained, so a home with children under the age of 10 isn’t a good fit for me. I do however LOVE to cuddle and I think I’m a lapdog. I really like all dogs, but small dogs are my favorite. I am crate trained and house trained, walk great on a leash, know some basic obedience commands and am working on learning more. I do have a unique health issue… my second kidney never grew. So, because of this, I have to eat a special low protein diet and my treats are vegetarian lol. Don’t worry, OCPBR has already paid for all of the tests, so you will just need to feed me appropriate food and treats to ensure I stay healthy. At OCPBR, we do a foster to adopt with all of our special dogs going to their new families. If you have another dog(s), the dog(s) must be completely friendly with puppies, other dogs and people. The foster must be willing and able to participate in our foster care program to include ongoing obedience training and socialization. I’m fully vetted, neutered, current on all vaccines, microchipped and looking for my perfect forever family. Story
Hi! My name is Calvin! I’m a two-year old pit bull/Aussie cattle dog mix. Yes, you read that right. DNA confirmed it! I’m the perfect balance between the two breeds because I cuddle like a Pittie and have the spunk of a cattle dog. I love to play tug with my foster siblings and/or foster parents. My favorite is flirt pole, cause I love to chase! You can find me sunbathing on top of my foster mom’s inflatable hot tub when I feel like catching some rays. I also really enjoy exploring new places, and have wonderful manners when I do. After some training, I now walk really well on a leash. The cattle dog in me makes me want to herd cars, but I know some really cool commands that give me better manners when out on walks and I see the dreaded cars. I can be a little mouthy when I play, but hey, that’s the cattle dog for ya. I’m crate trained, house trained, know basic obedience commands and am just a happy fun dude looking for my forever home. A home with other dogs (preferably female and more laid back dogs) would be fun, but I’m also happy to roll solo. However, I’m not a fan of our feline friends. I’m fully vetted, neutered, current on all vaccines, microchipped and looking for my perfect forever family. Story
Hi everybody, I’m Dean Keaton! I’m a really happy boy and don’t have a mean bone in my body. Sometimes it takes me a minute to warm up to some men, but I’m working on that. I love playing with my doggy friends (big and little). My favorite move is to throw my butt into them and turn my head so they can’t get me. I’ve seen a few cats and didn’t pay too much attention to them, but I’ve never met one up close. My foster mom says I’m a really special boy with the kindest heart. I know basic obedience and I’m working on impulse control by doing things like sitting in one place for a little while. Training me is pretty easy because I’m very food motivated. I’m an active boy and I’m always looking for things to do. I like hiking and going on pack walks. I’m am also a really strong chewer and really LOVE toys. Stuffy toys are my favorite, but I’m not allowed to play with them for very long and I always have to be supervised when I do because I like to eat them. Speaking of which, I also love to eat fleece blankets, so I have to be watched with those. However, I’m getting better and am starting to love being cozy and wrapped up in them versus eating them. I also love to chew on Benebones and Kongs, when the Kongs are filled with yummy treatos and then stuck in the freezer. Kongs and chewing activities work my brain and make me pretty tired, so I definitely love my naps. My foster moms laugh sometimes because I tend to sleep in the silliest positions, and I also have a cute little snore. I’m looking for an active adopter or family who wants a fun sidekick to go do things with because I love adventures and meeting new people. I would also thrive in a home with another dog. I’m fully vetted, neutered, current on all vaccines, microchipped and looking for my perfect forever family. Story
Hello everyone! I’m Brody! I’m 2 years old and have been told I’m a total meat head. I also don’t fully understand how big I am, but I’m learning. Everyone thinks I’m a mastiff/pit bull mix because I’m such a beefcake, but we haven’t done the DNA yet. I’ve got a big ole head with a giant heart to match. I like to go on walks and play in the water, but I’m also happy to enjoy a lazy afternoon. I currently am looking for a foster or a forever home. Previously I was in a foster home with 2 foster canine siblings. I am in boarding with my trainer and meet new dogs regularly, I also go on daily pack walks. I absolutely love dogs! I share toys with other dogs and have so much fun together. My favorite toy in the whole wide world is the Jolly Ball and I love to play chase and catch! There was a feline friend in my previous foster home, but he lived separately through gates and I was very respectful of him and the gates. Earlier this year I suffered a freak impalement accident, I am told I died and my amazing vets brought me back to life. I am all healed up now, however I was stuck at home for months isolated while I recovered from my injuries. As a result I can be unsure when meeting some new people, but we are working on building my confidence with some awesome trainers. I warm up very quickly though and am very loyal and loving. I’d love a home that is patient, confident and experienced. I need someone who is willing to work with me to help build my confidence and work on my socialization skills. I’m crate trained, know all of my basic obedience commands, walk nicely on a leash, am house trained and would love a mentor dog in my new home that can show me the ropes and will cuddle with me. I’m fully vetted, neutered, current on all vaccines, microchipped and looking for my forever family. Story
Hello world, I'm Finn! I’m two years old, but as they say, age ain’t nothin’ but a number… and the ladies love me! (Can you blame them?) I love long walks around the neighborhood and peanut butter by candlelight. I’m then happy to cuddle up with you for a relaxing night of movies and cuddles. I’m the perfect balance of outdoor enthusiast and couch potato… but if I’m being honest, I think I prefer my couch potato side. I love splashing in puddles, chasing birds (though I’ve never caught one), and doing zoomies on the regular to keep my model like physique. Gotta stay fit while also living that couch potato life. In my free time I like to gnaw on my chewie’s, eat treats, bird watch and play fetch with my foster mom. Though, fetch to me is more like foster mom throwing something and then I run around until she catches me. I love other dogs and would be happy to play with my friends all day, though I’ve never lived with another dog. If my new home has a doggo brother or sister for me, I’ll need to be reminded to stay calm and work on some manners while I integrate into my new life. I’m fully vetted, neutered, current on all vaccines, microchipped and looking for my perfect forever family.
