Story
Poncho IS AVAILALBE (updated 09-23-2023).To meet any of our dogs you must first complete our online adoption application on our website. For more information and the adoption application for Poncho, please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=20996&name=PonchoIn the spring of 2014, a litter of newborns was found sleeping in a drain pipe. Thanks to a Good Samaritan, the mother and her puppies were saved, one of them being Poncho. If you are looking for a young, energetic, ball crazy, trained, Ridgeback-y looking big boy and have the time to show him structure, boundaries, and work on continuing his socialization, this boy will have you smiling from ear to ear for years to come.We&#39ve been working with this handsome purple tongued boy for over four years now. Poncho was terrified of everything he didn&#39t know and he knew nothing except the home in which he was being forced to leave. He was petrified. He was unsure of himself, his surroundings, strangers, other dogs, and he was lashing out. He&#39s come so far, but he still needs a low traffic household and someone who will continue to introduce him to the world around him. Poncho&#39s now obedience trained, so much less fearful, so much more trusting, and so responsive with the people who have worked with him. He needs an adopter who can spend time with him, prior to adoption, as he doesn&#39t trust strangers. We will work with you and Poncho- getting you both to the point where he trusts you and can leave with you. He just needs someone who can spend the time to show him structure, boundaries, and work on continuing his socialization, and this boy will have you smiling from ear to ear for years to come.ð&#194&#159&#194&#146&#194&#153The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.September 23, 2023, 6:23 am

He&#39s definitely afraid of traffic and is going to need a home that&#39s willing to work with him. He&#39s got one of the most expressive faces and adores the people he interacts with on a daily basis. The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. Fargo IS AVAILALBE (updated 09-23-2023).To meet any of our dogs you must first complete our online adoption application on our website. For more information and the adoption application for Fargo, please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=21785&name=FargoFargo is a true working dog who is motivated by his stomach and toys. He&#39s ridiculously smart and obedience trained, but wasn&#39t socialized prior to his rescue. He&#39s spent his time with us training and now just needs someone who will help him transition what he&#39s learned into becoming part of a family. We rescued Fargo from the OC Shelter and he&#39s proven to be a smarty pants with a nose that never stops. He looks to have had no structure in his previous home and will do best with someone who has large breed experience (working dog experience a plus!) and understands dogs who need proper introduction to new people. He&#39s a big puppy and can be fearfull around fast moving people whom he doesn&#39t already know, so a low traffic home with no children is recommended. He is, however, super food motivated and follows direction like a well oiled machine once heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s bonded with you, so he just needs to find someone who will work with him and allow him to grow into a perfectly balanced boy. Fargo loves his toys, his walks, is obedience trained, and a super quick study. He knows sit, down, stay, come, heel, swing, place, back, drop it, slip, hupf, nein, and then some. This handsome boy is ready to move into a home of his own!The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. Gunner IS AVAILALBE (updated 09-23-2023).To meet any of our dogs you must first complete our online adoption application on our website. For more information and the adoption application for Gunner, please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=21838&name=GunnerHere&#39s the thing about this really smart, handsome, smart, gorgeous, smart GSD: He&#39s smart. He can also be stubborn. He&#39s like a teenage boy in the body of a GSD. ð&#194&#159&#194&#152&#194&#129Gunner is just about the most well trained dog in our rescue. He&#39s been working on his obedience game for over a year and knows all of the tricks. He has a relationship with certain volunteers in which he understands they are the leaders and he is the follower. Once you achieve that relationship with him, he&#39s just about the most fun canine companion in the world! But, and here&#39s the but, you don&#39t have that relationship with him yet. As smart as he is, he&#39s not a well oiled machine who is the same dog with different people. He is going to be a dream dog for someone who likes to work their dogs, but he is going to be a handful for someone who doesn&#39t. Around 5-6 years of age, Gunner is your typical working dog with lots of energy who is smart as a whip, loves to run and play, and adores his people. He craves work, loves a job, and would probably enjoy agility. He&#39s adorable, loving, affectionate, playful, and needs a home with GSD/working dog experience or he will take the lead position and become overly protective. If you&#39re looking for a smart puppy who would love to be part of an active home, Gunner is your boy!The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. For more information and the adoption application for Brody, please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=22028&name=BrodyBrody has smoldering good looks. He&#39s beyond handsome, very charming, totally social, loves everyone, and will win you over in minutes. Here&#39s the real question. Can you handle being the second best looking one in the family? Sure, he can&#39t have access outside when no one is home because he can and will jump a 7&#39 fence, but that&#39s not the real issue here. Are you secure enough to handle his good looks? Are you ready to be completely ignored when out in public? Everyone&#39s eyes will drop to your dog and all you&#39ll hear is &#39omg, he&#39s amazing! He&#39s so soft! He&#39s so sweet! He&#39s so handsome!&#39 You might as well not even be there. Brody will eat it up and you&#39ll eventually have to say, &#39OK, so it&#39s getting really late and we&#39ve been here for 95 minutes and should probably get going.&#39 Are you ready for that? This handsome boy is probably around 5-6 years old, and he&#39s great with people and gets along with female dogs who like to play rough. He&#39s got all of the energy that comes along with puppihood, but is smart and food motivated, making him fun to train. He&#39s a Husky in every way, good on a leash, obedience trained, super loving and sweet, and going to make someone very happy to have him in the family! He would do best in a family with Husky experience. The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. For more information and the adoption application for Angel, please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=22042&name=AngelAngel&#39s fantastic in the house, crate trained, gets along with other dogs, and needs someone with GSD experience who can give her structure and boundaries. She will repay you with more love than you thought imaginable! Angel&#39s owners wanted to surrender her to their local shelter because she became infested with ticks. She didnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t even have a name â&#194&#128&#194&#147 her owners just called her â&#194&#128&#194&#156Dog.â&#194&#128&#194&#157 We were contacted by a concerned animal control officer and we invited Angel to join the Coastal family. Now that the ticks are history and she is safe with us, this beauty is doing very well in her foster home. Angel is a big (90 pounds), sweet girl whoâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s quick to learn and eager to please, but she can be stubborn and will take charge if allowed so she needs a calm, assertive handler who can give her leadership and consistency. Sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s become very good on a leash, has learned some basic commands (heel, halt, sit), and continues to improve her manners and obedience.Angel is almost perfect in every way, but she tends to pick her favorite person in the household and not bond with anyone else- she will also protect them from the other members of the household (including dogs), if allowed. She would do best in a low traffic home that has GSD experience and understands dogs who need a leader. The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500.
