Story
She was given to my 16 year old daughter as a gift. My daughter had a job and school and has realized this dog needs someone with time and money to properly care for her. I have full time work as well and we have been looking to find her a good home for a long time. My daughter will be strong her senior year next month and we are hopeful to find her a home before this. She is a normal hyper dog that needs to run and not be kept cooped up. She's loving and sweet, just needs time.

Story
I recently moved onto a farm that has 2 litters of purebred Great Pyrenees puppies. They are 12 weeks old and cute and playful and sweet! Their parents are working livestock guardian dogs on property. They are being raised among goats, sheep, chickens, cats and pigs. They are ready to go to their forever homes-whether that be as a loved family pet or as a happy working dog! We have both male and females. One litter is AKC registered and one is not.

Story
Atlas is 3.5 years old, I've had him since he was a small puppy. We're looking for a new home for him because he's become territorial over the past year, so I can longer have him with my young child. He is in need of a home with no other pets, and no small kids. He is extremely playful and full of character. He's been my best friend for years and I know he can be yours too!

Story
Lexie is a tricolored female Beagle mix that grew up in a tough part of town. Besides the elderly man that took her under his wing, the other neighborhood residents were not very kind to her. Lacking resources to properly care for them and fearing for their safety, he reached out to us for help. Fortunately, we were able to bring her into our rescue. At first, Lexie was understandably wary of volunteers. It has been a journey gaining her trust. With patience and love, our volunteers showed her not all people were bad and soon won her over. She has really blossomed during her time with us. Lexie is four years and weighs 20 pounds. She is a good fit for an adult or family with teenage children that are home most of the day. She takes comfort in knowing you are near. Lexie prefers a quiet calm home where she can putter around and relax with the family. Visitors should be few as she is wary of strangers. She doesn’t expect you to fuss over her but does enjoy a soft pat on the head. Lexie enjoys when you talk to her as you do things around the house. She does well on a set schedule and a routine gives her a sense of security. Another calm confident dog in the home would be a good companion for her. Outdoor rest breaks are limited at the shelter, so she may need more work to be fully housebroken. A home with a fenced-in backyard is a must. Lexie prefers exploring and running outdoors over going on walks. On sunny days, Lexie likes to sprawl out in the grass and catch a few rays. Shy sweet Lexie is searching for a family that will give her a wonderful life. We hope that will be with you!To adopt this pet, please go to hsnwga.org, 'Adoption' then 'Application for Adoption', to complete an online application to be preapproved. Due to the high volume of applications received, our Adoption Coordinator will only contact the applicant that best meets the needs of the pet.
