Story
Even though Odie was abandoned by his previous family, he still loves people.  He gets along with other dogs and children.  He is high energy and hasn't learned to meet other dogs.  He can be a bit intimidating to other dogs.  His foster brother is a small 13 yr old rat terrier and Odie loves to sleep with him.  It takes a slow introduction for him to settle down.   If you want a hiking or camping buddy, Odie is your guy.  Playing fetch and tug are also favorite things that he likes.  He would love a family who would treat him like a family member.  .  He has already had his dental and is ready to start his new life as a family member.  If you are interested, please contact Rainbow Rescue at 757-472-1583 or rainbowanimalrescueva@gmail.comSeptember 23, 2023, 10:53 am

Story
Merlin is losing his family under tragic circumstances.  His dad is fighting a second bout of cancer and has other illnesses and his mom has a long term illness.  They are seniors and living in a trailer with no yard for him to run in.  He has to be chained when out.  He is a very sweet, loving, smart boy.  He rings a bell when he wants to go out and will close the door when he comes in.  He gets along with other dogs, although larger dogs scare him.  He just needs time to see that they won't .  He plays with the neighbor's 3 Yorkies and is very gentle.  He lays on the ground to be at their level.  He was bopped in the head by the neighbor's cat who then ran away and Merlin just stood there wondering what happened.  He may be ok with cats too.  He is very friendly and loves to give kisses and snuggle.  He is 5 yrs old and needs to weigh around 70lbs.  He currently weighs 66lbs and is on the thin side.  One of his ears is permanently folded over due to a previous hematoma but makes him the cutest little boy you have ever seen.  Merlin would love a family who has a fenced yard for him to run in and would include him in family adventures.  If you are that special family, please contact Rainbow Animal Rescue at 757-472-1583 or rainbowanimalrescueva@gmail.com   September 23, 2023, 10:53 am
