Story
Cody is ready to find his forever home! Cody was found out on the plains of CO limping on 3 legs. A kind person contacted us to get him the medical care he needed. After an FHO and physical therapy, Cody is using his leg again, although there are still times when he reverts back since he likely used 3 legs for most of his life prior to surgery. Cody is a super sweet and loving 1.5 y/o cowboy Corgi. He weighs approximately 25# and will need another friendly dog in his new home and humans who aren’t gone long hours. Cody is potty trained and crate trained although he can have some excited urination when his person comes home. He is still in his puppy stage and learning about chewing on appropriate things so does require a certain amount of supervision and dog-safe chews like no hides and bully sticks. Cody has not been tested with cats or kids and although very sweet and even tempered, he can be herdy so cats aren’t recommended and kids 12+. Cody is good on the leash, treat motivated, and sleeps in a dog bed at night. He is shy in new situations and doesn’t love the car but is getting used to shorter trips to fun places. Cody requires a secure fenced in yard with room to run around, a moderately active family, and is not a good fit for an apartment situation. His humans should be ok with the bark of a Heeler, although he mostly uses it when he’s excited and not unnecessarily. Cody would benefit from a basic manners class to bond, learn, and gain confidence. If you’re interested in meeting Cody, the first step is to complete our meet and greet application at  https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms  We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home. Cody is neutered, utd on vaccs, chipped, and HW-. His adoption fee is $400 and we do not adopt outside of Colorado. March 8, 2026, 9:08 am

Story
Does this guy look familiar? This is Cody’s brother, Taz. In an interesting turn of events, the new owner of the pair didn’t have the time to take care of Taz so determined it was in his best interest to give him to Rescue. Taz is a super sweet and loving 1.5 y/o cowboy Corgi. He weighs approximately 26# and would like another friendly dog in his new home who doesn’t mind him being bossy at times or could be an only dog. Humans who aren’t gone long hours will be best as he is used to having someone around and wants to bond with his new person. Taz is potty trained but might lift his leg some in a new place. He’s recently neutered so that should diminish over time. Taz is a little too curious about cats and had not been tested with kids and is herdy so cats aren’t recommended and kids 12+. Taz is new to the leash but very treat motivated to learn. He sleeps in a dog bed at night. He can be hand shy in new situations and likes riding along on the atv with his foster dad. Taz loves to be outside running so the more space the better and requires a secure fenced in yard or farm and is not a good fit for an apartment situation. His humans should be ok with the bark of a Heeler, although he mostly uses it when he’s excited and not unnecessarily. If you are interested in meeting Taz the first step is to complete our meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home.  He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, chipped, and HW Negative. His adoption fee is $400 and we do not adopt outside of Colorado.March 8, 2026, 9:08 am

Story
Meet Biggie! A big, handsome corgi boy with an equally big heart. His family in another state had to surrender him due to a move, so he has come to Colorado in search of his forever home. Biggie is 4 years old and weighs about 40 pounds. He walks well on a leash and enjoys his daily strolls. He loves squeaky and chew toys, and enjoys playing with toys and chasing a ball—although he may not always bring it back or be eager to share. Biggie’s ideal home is one where his people are not gone for long hours and can provide daily walks to support his weight-loss journey. A dog-savvy adopter and/or someone with herding dog experience would be preferred. A secure, fenced yard where he can romp and play would also be wonderful. Biggie does well with other dogs, but we do not know his history with cats. He is both housebroken and crate trained. True to his corgi roots, Biggie has a big voice, so a home with shared walls would likely not be the best fit for him. He is quite the talker, and sometimes it can be difficult to interpret his intentions. For this reason, we feel he would do best in a home without children, as kids may miss the cues he gives when he is feeling uncomfortable. We suspect that Biggie’s past may have included punitive correction, so a home that focuses on positive reinforcement would be ideal to help him build confidence and learn new, positive behaviors. Biggie is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, neutered, and heartworm negative.  If you are interested in adopting Biggie or would simply like to meet him, the first step is to complete our meet-and-greet application at: https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms . We require a completed application, home and reference checks, and for Biggie to meet everyone in the household prior to adoption. His adoption fee is $400, and we do not adopt out of state.March 18, 2026, 11:19 am

Story
Pixel is a special little Corgi whose human loved her very much but her living situation wasn’t ideal so she made the difficult decision to find Pixel a loving home with lots of room to run and play. Pixel is approx 4 y/o and 30#. She could stand to lose a couple pounds and get her waist back. Pixel loves all the humans she meets and can handle her own around other dogs. Dogs her size are her preference and small dogs might not be a good fit. Pixel is potty trained when let out frequently and crate trained and craves human affection, so someone who works from home would be best. She does need plenty of exercise and mental stimulation so a moderately active home is going to suit her. She is naturally herdy and will need an outlet for that instinct. Pixel requires a fenced in yard with room to run and is not a good fit for an apartment situation or shared walls. She likes to sing the songs of her short ancestors esp if other dogs are barking. Respectful kids 10+ may be considered and cats aren’t recommended. If you’re interested in meeting Pixel, the first step is to complete our meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home. Pixel is spayed, utd on vaccs, chipped, and HW-. Her adoption fee is $425 and we do not adopt outside of CO.March 31, 2026, 11:49 am

Story
Bella is an approx 2 y/o 10# Chiweenie who was found as a stray in a small rural TX town. No one came in to claim her and she was very frightened at the shelter. She's now in a foster home in CO and is coming out of her shell. She loves to be near her person/people, sit on your lap, and sleep under the covers in the big bed. Bella now loves to play with other dogs but can get snarky if she doesn’t get to be the boss. Bella has a difficult time sharing so we are looking to place her in a home where she is the only dog or with a laid back dog who doesn’t care about her bossiness. Bella needs a secure 6 ft fenced yard as she will be a flight risk for awhile and humans who can take her out frequently. She is potty trained and crate trained. She enjoys walks and is good on the leash but will bark at people, other dogs and unfamiliar things. She had made a lot of progress with her fear barking on walks and will need her new owner to continue with her reward based training. She'd do best with someone (she prefers women over men) home during the day and no small children. She hasn't been overly barky indoors. She was curious about cats but we're not sure how should be be living with them. If interested in meeting Bella, complete our meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms as the first step. We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home including pets. Bella is spayed, utd on vaccs, chipped, and HW-. Her adoption fee is $375 and we are not doing any out of state adoptions.March 8, 2026, 9:08 am

Story
Thank Dog it’s the weekend! Mango is a 5–6 year old corgi mix with stumpy legs, an adorable tail, and a personality that fills the whole room. He weighs about 32 pounds, is neutered, chipped, and UTD on all vaccinations. He was surrendered to CCFR due to being reactive around children. He is incredibly affectionate and is happiest when he’s right by his person’s side. Mango loves adults and does best with mature children ages 12 and up who understand and respect his space. This handsome guy is smart, eager, and a very fast learner. He loves treats (all treats!) and is highly treat-motivated, which makes him a fantastic training partner. He enjoys learning new things and truly thrives with daily mental stimulation along with his daily walks. Hiking? Yes, please. Car rides? He travels great. Adventures with his favorite human? Absolutely. Mango is currently working with a trainer and is doing very well. With his foster mom, he successfully navigates situations around other dogs, including hiking trails and even going into stores. That said, Mango can be reactive to dogs, so his adopter will need to continue working with a trainer to help him live his very best life. He would do best as an only dog so he can be the center of attention (his favorite place to be!), though he has previously lived successfully with another small dog. Careful introductions would be essential. A cat-free home would be best for Mango, or a home with very dog-savvy cats who are confident and comfortable around dogs. He is potty trained, can use a dog door, and does well with a consistent schedule—especially when settling into a new home. Mango will need a fenced yard and would likely thrive in a quiet neighborhood or more rural setting. He does like to announce himself when he heads outside, so he can be a bit of a barker. Looking for a buddy to try a dog sport like nose work? Mango’s sharp mind, love of treats, and eagerness to learn could make him a wonderful partner for fun training adventures! Mango is looking for a committed, dog-savvy home that will continue to guide him, keep his mind busy, and give him the love he adores. The first step is to complete our meet and greet application at  https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms  We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home. His adoption fee is $400. We do not adopt out of state.  March 8, 2026, 9:08 am
