Story

Raya, Pitbull mix, 2 yrs., 42 lbs., Raya, a gentle and loving Pit Bull cross was that suffering from a gunshot wound. She was in pain, but her spirit shone through from the very beginning. Despite the trauma she endured, Raya greeted us with hope in her eyes and a wag of her tail, showing us she wanted to fight for her life. It was determined that her leg had to be amputated. Through it all, Raya’s sweet nature shines—she loves to see people and enjoys short walks, always eager for affection and encouragement. We are looking for a loving home that can offer her patience, understanding, and the chance to thrive as a tripod dog. She is good with other dogs but probably not really rambunctious dogs since her balance is not the best. Courtesy listing. Call Cindy 970-353-1385

Huck, Australian Shepherd/Heeler, 4 yrs., 47 lbs. Huck is a friendly and calmer dog. He’s confused and depressed because he is now sitting in a shelter since his owner gave him up after someone new moved into the home and brought their dog into Huck’s home. Huck didn’t get along with the new dog, so his owner surrendered him to a shelter. He is a great dog and just wants a home where he will be loved and cared about. Courtesy listing. Roxy, Staffordshire Terrier, 9 yrs., 56 lbs. Roxy is a very kind soul. She loves people and loves to spend her time with them. She loves her couch and especially if she can lay beside you preferably with her head in your lap. She likes to play with toys and likes to play fetch but won’t bring it back to you. She loves to go for rides and lay out in the sun. Roxy has been let down by people for eight years so it’s time to find someone that will love her for the rest of her life. Good with some dogs probably males and No Cats. She was in a shelter for six months before we got her out. Roxy is a happy well-adjusted girl even though her life hasn’t been the best. Luna, Lab/Heeler, 10 yrs. 85 lbs. (she is on a diet as she is entirely too heavy) Luna’s owners are moving into an independent living facility and cannot take her with them. She’s friendly with everyone including other dogs. She’s bored and sleeps a lot during the day so she isn’t getting the exercise that she needs. Overall, she is in good health. Recently in the last month we’ve had to put her on incontinent medicine, and she seems to be doing well with that. She has also been on the Farmers Dog food for the past three months, in order for her to lose weight, and is doing well with that. She has a lot of life to give yet.
