Story
Hello Everybody! My name is Mika (mee-kuh). I’m a Dalmatian mix, and a little bit bigger girl (because I am tall), but I only weigh about 55-57 pounds. I could stand to lose another couple of pounds, but the food is good here and we have yummy treats! I’m not telling, but I am probably mixed with either a larger hound or something like a Great Pyrenees because I have dewclaws on my back feet and a tiny bit of an undercoat. I am getting along well with my foster sisters and with a boy dog that was fostering with me for a while. I am kind of bold, and a bit rowdy, when meeting new dogs, so slow introductions will be required. Once I learn to trust you, I will play with you all day. I do like to set the rules among the four-leggeds, so I have some opinions about sharing the water bowl, guarding my space, and occasionally wanting to keep my bone or my person to myself. I won’t get too upset though if you just understand my rules. My foster Mom is working on this with me. I do great hanging around the food bin while Mom gets our dinner, and I am very considerate when the treats are being doled out, but my new parents need to continue working on this resource guarding thing with me. I have not been around cats or kids, but I do very well leaving the resident house bunnies alone (well, except to eat the bunny berries. Those guys are like regular treat dispensers, it’s kinda cool!). I love to be with my person, and I follow her everywhere. Sometimes I climb in her lap or jump on her, but I am working on that. I am also a very good girl and can stay in my own room even when Mom leaves the house, but I do well lounging in my crate when I have to. I have very good potty habits although I did do a little submissive peeing when I first got here because I was scared about being in a new place. I haven’t done that in a long time though. I would love a home where I am either an only dog or have one or two more submissive buddies. I do love to play, so a play buddy would be nice. I don’t think I would like the dog park. Please contact my foster mom Tara @ spotteddogs91@hotmail.com or our friend Ms. Tena at tjp@mygrande.net and ask more about me. I am so looking forward to my new forever home! Mika is located in Live Oak (San Antonio), TX. Adopter must pick up. She is spayed, HW Neg, and current on vaccinations. Adoption fee $350.00 Applications may be submitted at www.dalmatianrescueco.org   If interested in this dog, please go to www.dalmatianrescueco.org and submit an application for adoption. Under Adoptions, please read our adoption policy.  We must have an application before we can begin the adoption process and each dog does have foster contact listed. October 18, 2024, 8:46 am

Story
IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING THIS DOG: Rosie is shy and fearful around humans and is bonded to Sammy. She requires patience, love, and guidance to help continue to show her how to properly dog and that the world is not as scary as it seems. Rosie is a very shy girl and is still feeling a little scared of humans. She does like to be pet and having her neck scratched. Her personality shows when she gets outside and argues with the squirrels but it takes a little while for her to get used to coming inside the house. Rosie has seen a lot in her life and has some trust issues with humans. She has never shown any aggression and will melt when she gets brushed or pet. Like her siblings, she will take some time adjusting to a new home and may never totally come out of her shell. She would be good in a home with a fenced yard or warm outside space and no cats. Rosie came into rescue with her two friends, who are also female chow mixes. All three were very scared of humans and refused to even be touched. Again, there was no aggression - but they would run away in fear if humans tried to approach. They have been fostered with our director's family for last couple of years while they have gone through a very slow introduction to the good side of humans. While they are now ready to find their forever homes, they do need adopters who are willing to take the time to win their trust and won't expect them to be going for walks around the neighborhood anytime soon. These girls can only go to homes with fully fenced backyards and very patient humans. These girls will not be attending our adoption events and will require meet and greets at the foster's home. ADOPTION FEE: $75 We are a foster-based rescue and generally do not have pups available to meet at our office except during adoption events on Saturdays. Not every dog attends every adoption event. Interested in this pup? The first step is to complete our online application by clicking the "Apply for Adoption" button. Please note that we are only able to finalize adoptions at events for approved adopters. The earlier you apply, the better as it takes time to review and approve applications. We host adoption events almost every Saturday from 10:00am to 1:00pm at our rescue office (1721 W Harmony, unit 102, Fort Collins, Co 80526)! Check our Instagram and/or Facebook page for info on where we will be hosting adoptions this weekend! All Aboard Animal Rescue saves dogs and puppies from high-kill shelters in other states. These pups are brought to Colorado, where they are required to be spayed or neutered - breaking the cycle of unwanted litters of puppies who end up as strays! Please consider supporting us in this mission by adopting, fostering, volunteering, or donating.

Story
Lance is a beautiful male Dalmatian who has been somewhat overlooked in the last couple of years. Dumped near Dallas, TX, he was un-mannered and very strong. As with most strays, he was nervous and a little difficult to manage when first meeting new dogs. Since he was neutered and moved into a loving foster home, Lance has learned to get along with lots of other dogs. His foster/trainer has worked very hard to teach Lance some manners and will be available to work with Lance's new family to insure an easy transition. Cats are unknown. Older children are recommended because of Lance's size and strength. He would be a great running companion. Lance is located in Colorado Springs, and his recommended adoption donation is $350. For more information, please contact  jeannine@dalmatianrescueco.org .   If interested in this dog, please go to  www.dalmatianrescueco.org  and submit an application for adoption. ADOPTION FEE: $425 Meet Moondance! This lovely lady has just arrived in Colorado and is ready to find her forever home! More from her wonderful foster: "Lover girl coming more and more out of her shell, she loves getting huggles by her humans. Loves giving kisses to her people and furry friends. She still gets excited when first coming inside but does mellow down and lays down for hours. She is still not very fond of female dogs but does well with docile boys after a few slow/proper introductions" From her wonderful foster 11/16: "Gentle Momma Moon 🌙 The colds been tough but she does great inside, she lets you know when she needs to go potty and loves to nap in her Pjs. She is gentle with all the babies, decompressing took a while still not very fond of girl dogs but loves a docile male pup🐶 shes the perfect Valentine 💌" From her previous foster 11/12: "This sweet, gorgeous girl is as loyal and loving as they come. Moondance adores cuddles, is always up for an adventure, and has so much potential to be the perfect addition to a forever family. She's happiest on car rides, running in big open fields, and playing tug of war or fetch. Start your morning with her favorite-eggs with her kibble-and end the day with cuddles in bed (she sleeps through the night)! She has much to be taught and is eager to learn! Moondance would thrive in a home that can give her the patience, time, and consistency she deserves. With a little love, I know she'll shine as the loyal, affectionate, and unconditionally loving companion she's meant to be." From her past foster: "Moondance is a big goofy love bug! She loves to plop right next to you and hangout or follow you around wherever you go! She LOVES to play tug a war and will put her toy right up to your hand so you play with her! She also loves fetch, going on walks/runs and car rides! She will curl up right next to you (or on your pillow) and sleep all through the night too:) She's still figuring out her strength and size as she may take you on a walk and pull you a bit! She is a very good listener and knows "sit" and "down" while also if you call her she will come running right to you! She has never had an accident and is so good about going up to the door to the backyard when she has to go potty!! Moondance is so happy to meet every person she sees but does get a bit stressed out in rooms with a lot of people she is unsure of but she is getting a lot better!!! Moondance would be perfect in a home that is a little more quiet and maybe the only dog so she can be in the spotlight! She has so much love to give and is truly such a sweetheart that you will fall in love with instantly! and she LOVES to hike!" From our rescue partner: Playgroup - https://youtu.be/14TbQEZlqWI Playgroup - https://youtu.be/4REhad_nxt4 Playgroup - https://youtu.be/b9YnqpDCYfo Moondance is a gentle and friendly female dog who is a perfect mix of calm and quiet. Her affectionate nature will win you over with her polite and well-mannered demeanor. Moondance is a brave and lovable girl who is great with other dogs. He eats well and takes medications easily. Both boys are decompressing and healing together. Gee is a big cuddle bug. He’ll come right up to you on the couch.
