*IMPORTANT NOTE: Chance is extremely undersocialized and is working on gaining confidence in his foster home. He is looking for a very specific type of home. If you are interested in meeting Chance, your first step is to submit an application.*

Meet Chance: This handsome guy is very shy and working on gaining confidence. Chance is learning to love and trust again. Chance is looking for a home who is understanding that he will require patience and love to help him gain confidence.

Life hasn't always been kind to Chance.
This handsome 5-year-old neutered Australian Shepherd mix weighs 37 pounds and arrived from a home where he wasn't given the care he deserved. His coat, once beautiful and fluffy, became matted from neglect, and somewhere along the way, this gentle boy learned to make himself small and quiet.
But even after everything, Chance still has a soft heart.
With his soulful eyes and sweet expression, Chance is what we lovingly call an undercover lover. At first, he may keep his feelings tucked away behind a shy exterior, but beneath all that fluff is a kind and loving dog just waiting for someone to show him that the world can be gentle.
Chance isn't mean—not even a little. He's simply unsure. He needs a patient person with a soft voice, a cozy home, and a kind hand to help him discover that love and safety are real. The shelter is a big and overwhelming place for a sensitive soul like him.
Low energy and easygoing, Chance is happiest doing what he does best: lounging nearby, curling up on a soft bed, and quietly keeping you company. He would especially thrive in a home with other dogs, as canine friends help him feel safe and confident. A calm home where he can settle in at his own pace would mean the world to him.
His future is bright. With regular brushing and grooming to keep his beautiful coat in tip-top shape, and most importantly, with love and patience, Chance is ready to blossom into the dog he was always meant to be.
After years of simply surviving, Chance is ready for something new:
A soft bed.
A full heart.
A family that shows him kindness every day.
Sometimes the quietest dogs have the most love to give. Chance is ready to learn that there is still goodness in this world—and perhaps, for the first time, truly feel at home. 🐾💙

We are a foster-based rescue and generally do not have animals at our office, and not all animals attend adoption events. To coordinate a meet and greet with a specific animal please contact us!
We can only finalize adoptions at events for approved adopters. The earlier you apply, the better, it takes time to review and approve applications!
We host adoption events almost every Saturday from *11:00 AM to 2:00 PM* around the Fort Collins community!
