Harvey is about 1.5 years old and he came to our shelter after he was abandoned by his owners. Now Harvey is looking for his forever family! Harvey is a young boy who enjoys a good head and butt scratch. He is a happy boy who learns routines very quickly. Harvey is a toy loving boy who especially loves the kong shaped toys. He will play fetch with those over and over until he is tired out. Harvey is a smart boy who listens well for treats or toys. He does have some dominant energy, so he will need a confident dog owner who will work on some basic training with him. He is a strong dog who will need some work with leash training, but he is a quick learner! He is housetrained and he is a clean boy. Harvey did great at our vet office and loved everyone there. He is fine with other dogs, but we think he will want to be the dominant dog in the home. Harvey was non reactive in our cat room. He can go to a home with older children 15 years old and older. He was surrendered with a second male dog named Sampson. Lyle is a large and muscular boy, but he is a big mush ball! He loves getting pet all over and will squeeze himself between your legs for more attention. Lyle is a goofy guy, but he already knows how to sit politely and take treats gently. He really wants a new home with a family to share all his love with! Lyle seems fine with other dogs and he can go to a home with children 12 years old and older. Meet our outgoing and playful puppy boy named Axle! Axle was surrendered to our shelter after his owner lost their home and had nowhere to go with Axle. He is about 10 months old and he is just a ball of fun! Axle has big puppy energy! He loves to run around chasing toys and doing zoomies in our backyard. Axle can still be jumpy/mouthy when he gets overly excited, but he listens to correction well. His new family will need to work on normal puppy training/leash skills, but Axle is a smart boy who is ready to learn! He is a very friendly dog who will make a great companion for someone. We believe Smudgie is less than 2 years old and you may have seen his story on our Facebook page. In June, Smudgie was seen multiple nights in a row roaming around our local Target parking lot. After he was fed in the same spot those nights, a trap was set. It did not take long for him to enter that trap and be transported to our shelter for safety. Immediately, Smudgie was looking for human attention and showed us that he was a friendly guy. Besides having a bad urinary tract infection when he came in, which has now been treated, he was in good shape and we don't think he was wandering outside for too long. Smudgie is now ready for his forever home where he will never be abandoned again! He is a very high energy boy who loves to play and be with his people. We think he may have some herding breed in him, as he will try to herd you at your ankles if you are not paying attention to him. Due to this and his jumpiness, he can go to a home with children 15 years old and older who have experience with med/large sized dogs. Smudgie seems fine with other dogs here. *SPECIAL NEEDS* After Luna was spayed, she began having bouts small seizures. Her blood work and xrays have come back fine. Our vet staff thinks she could have Epilepsy. We have started Luna on Phenobarbitol pills twice a day which seems to be working very well to control the seizures. There is a possibility she will need to be on this medication for the entirety of her life. In the future, her adopters may want to consider a neurology consult. Unfortunately, this is not something we can do as a municipal shelter. Meet our silly young girl named Luna! Luna is about 9 months old and she was surrendered to our shelter after her owner could no longer care for her. She is a petite puppy right now, weighing about 37 lbs. She is going to grow, but we think she will stay a nice medium size weighing around 40-45 lbs. Luna can be a scaredy cat when she meets new people at first, but she is a very curious girl. She has a very goofy personality when she is comfortable! Luna loves to run around our backyard and middle room with hilarious bouts of zoomies! She gets a big smile on her face and goes back and forth. She is a fan of squeaky toys and has learned that she also likes to cuddle on couches. She will need a patient home that can teach her new things in the outside world aren't so scary. Luna is good with other dogs and we are told she is fine with cats as well.
