adoption donation : $499 weight 50 lbs Age  3 years        Layne is a beautiful 3-year-old, 50 lb golden pup who came to us pretty timid and scared of the world but has since gained a lot of confidence. She wants to be loved and give love in return. Layne lives with other dogs, kids and a baby. She is a sweetheart and a quiet girl—she is the only dog in the house who does not bark at the mailman!    Layne loves to run in the yard and watch the birds fly by so a fenced yard is preferred. She adores loves playing fetch and treat time. She loves romping around the yard with her four-legged foster brothers and would love a canine companion! Layne does well with senior dogs as well.      Layne also has a foster brother, Puddles, who is her very best buddy so if an adopter  was potentially looking for two dogs they would be a perfect pair!       Layne is the quintessential family dog, she is gentle and loving and will make a wonderful member of the family.     For more information on adopting Layne please email   ramellakwolek@gmail.com    June 22, 2025, 7:29 am

Story
adoption donation : $499 weight 32 lbs Age 1 year Ginger is a beautiful, super friendly girl who loves everyone she meets, her tail never stops wagging! This loving girl was found in Puerto Rico sitting under a coconut tree on a beach known to be a place where people dump dogs. A kindly couple saw her there and assumed she was waiting for her owners but three days later she was still in the same spot, hungry, and trembling. The couple took her in and discovered she was the sweetest dog ever! They had her spayed and vaccinated and on February 6 this lucky girl arrived to her new foster home in the northeast, ready for a loving family of her own. Ginger doesn’t have an aggressive bone in her body, she is all kisses, wiggles and wags! She loves other dogs and is gentle with children. Ginger is medium energy and loves to run around outside but when she’s home she likes to curl up with her toys or a bone or try to snuggle on her foster parents laps! Ginger is completely housebroken and fully grown at 32 pounds. She will make some lucky family a wonderful new addition. Wags of Monroe county is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Adoption fee includes the transport, vaccines, microchip and spay. For more information on adopting any of our Wags dogs please email mariaeftimiades@yahoo.com

Story
adoption donation : $699 weight 40 lbs Age 8 months dob. 1/10/25      Jade is an adorable mixed breed pup who seems to be some kind of black mouth cur mix. . She is a gentle and sweet and loving girl who is just a delight.  Jade and her sisters Josie and Journey  were part of a group of puppies that were sadly being given away for free at a local Walmart in Mississippi. The woman who runs the rescue Wags of Monroe County couldn’t bear to see these puppies going to people with no vetting and so she scooped up the remaining three girls.     Since then, the puppies have thrived, they love to run and play with all the dogs at the rescue and then cuddle up together in a puppy pile to nap. They have all been spayed and have their vaccinations and are all healthy happy girls.    Jaden and her sisters are still in Mississippi, but ready to come up to the northeast in mid October on the transport truck that leaves every Friday from Tupelo. We know these girls will all make wonderful family dogs, but are fine to consider a foster to adopt. Jade is such a gentle, calm girl, we know she will be a loving member of the family.   Adoption fee includes the transport from Mississippi, vaccines, microchip and spay and neuter. Most of our dogs are in Mississippi and come up by Transport, dogs are listed along the Transport route or in an area where we may have volunteers who can help transport the dogs. Story
Baron is a gentle giant and a truly gorgeous Australian Shepherd. He weighs about 42 pounds, is neutered, fully vaccinated, and ready to find the right forever home. Baron enjoys the simple things in life. He loves playing in water, spending time with other dogs, and chewing on his toys. He is both house trained and kennel trained, and he walks well on a leash. Baron is a chewer, so he will need plenty of appropriate chew toys to keep him occupied and away from furniture or walls. Baron gets along very well with other dogs and really enjoys their company. While he loves playing with canine friends, he is not the outgoing, overly affectionate type with people. If you are looking for a super bubbly, “happy-go-lucky” dog who instantly loves everyone, Baron may not be the best match. He is more of an introvert who takes time to feel comfortable. Once Baron gets to know you and spends time with you, he will form a strong bond. He is a loyal companion for someone who understands his personality and is willing to go at his pace. Baron can be a little wary of men, though he does not show any aggression. He simply needs patience and time to build trust, and it may take him a bit longer to bond with men than with women. Baron would do best with a patient family who understands that adjustment takes time. When he leaves his foster home, he can become a little sad or withdrawn at first, but with kindness, consistency, and patience, he will settle in and learn that his new home is a safe place. If you’re looking for a loyal companion and are willing to give Baron the time and space he needs to blossom, he will reward you with a lifelong bond. 🐾 Baron is being fostered in LA FERIA, TX. His adoption fee of $350 will cover his transport cost in TX. Story
Meet Buddy! Buddy is a 2-year-old Border Terrier mix weighing about 40 pounds. He is fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped, making him ready to find his forever home. Buddy previously tested positive for a tick-borne illness but has completed treatment and is doing great. Buddy is a social, friendly boy who gets along well with dogs of all sizes. As with any dog, proper introductions are always recommended to set everyone up for success. He is both house trained and kennel trained, though in a new environment he may mark initially—this is normal and typically resolves as he settles in. Buddy walks beautifully on a leash and truly enjoys being around people. While he hasn’t had experience living with children, his affectionate and easygoing personality suggests he would do well in a home with kids, as long as interactions are supervised. This active pup would thrive with a family that enjoys an active lifestyle. He loves to run, play, and spend time with other dogs, making him a great companion for outdoor adventures or a home with a playful canine friend. Buddy is currently being fostered in LA FERIA, TX, but can be transported to an approved adopter outside of Texas. His adoption fee of $450 includes transport. If you’re looking for a fun, loving, and loyal companion, Buddy may be the perfect fit for your family!
