Story
Curly is an adorable one-year-old Cattle Dog Mix who is eagerly looking for a forever home. With her calm and quiet demeanor, Curly has won the hearts of everyone she meets. She possesses a loving nature especially once she forms a bond with her human companions. Her foster mom has enjoyed taking care of her and has stated that her company was most endearing. They spend many nights cuddling as the foster works on her computer. Even though her foster mom will miss her, she knows Curly is ready for the next big step in her life in finding a loving family! How did Curly come into the ArkanPaws program? There is a video of her walking across a bridge with several other abandoned dogs in an area known for dumping unwanted pets. The ArkanPaws volunteer returned with live traps and by the next morning she was secured. At first, she was afraid and it took about one week to win her trust. She still is shy when initially meeting strangers but warms quickly when she feels safe.  One of Curly's most endearing qualities is her gentle and sweet nature. She approaches life with a relaxed attitude, always ready to take things at her own pace. While she may initially be reserved, it doesn't take long for her to warm up to people, and once she does, her affection knows no bounds. She enjoys being petted and following her person around the yard and house. How did Curly get here name? Her cute little tail is what she is named for! Her appearance is very unique with her dappled short coat and corkscrew like tail. Her coat sheds very little and is easy to maintain. Curly will do best with older kids who are eight years old and up. She’s learning to like toys and has a zest for treats. With proper interaction, she has the potential and curiosity to engage in play. She's doing very well with the cats in her foster home. Curly is curious, but does not advance, or act aggressive in any way with them.  She’s crate trained and still trying to master potty training. Her foster mom is working with her to walk on leash. She is fully vetted: spayed, microchipped, all core vaccinations, and has been examined by a licensed veterinarian. Her current weight is a healthy 38 pounds. Her adoption fee is $450, which covers her transport and all of the vetting she has received. She has been tested for heartworms and the result was negative. ArkanPaws is not licensed in the state of Massachusetts and unable to deliver there. ArkanPaws is a non-profit agency and all adoption fees supports other pets in need.  ##1771554##

Story
Wilhelmina is the cutest little Heinz 57 pup. Her adorable smile is simply contagious. She has the sweetest little personality. Super easy going, relaxed, fun-loving, a couch potato, blanket thief, and she will steal your heart!    Not quite one year old, she still is a puppy who does require some guidance. She gets along great with other dogs and cats. Would make an amazing family pet; especially with a household of children. She is exceptionally gentle.   This girl is fully vetted: she has been fixed, micro chipped, up-to-date on all core vaccinations, and is heartworm negative. She is also on a heartworm prevention and flea and tick prevention.   Her adoption fee is $550. This does cover transport as well from Arkansas to New England. ##1840691##

Story
We received a call about Wally from a senior citizen who said he showed up at her house severely imaciated and suffering from a gunshot to his back leg. Our vet was unable to save his leg and it had to be amputated, but Wally doesn't even know he is different from the other dogs. He runs around happily playing and even jumps into the van all on his own and loves to go for car rides. He's got so much spunk and personality. His strong will kept him alive during the snow storm in February when temperatures were in the single digits.  He does need to be fed alone since he has the history of being starved he behaves aggressive during meal time. He gets along with some dogs and loves to play.  Currently, he is being fostered in Arkansas, but we do have transport to Rhode Island.  He is fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, and heartworm negative. His adoption fee for Rhode Island adopters is $450, and includes transport to Rhode Island and a health certificate from his vet. NOTE: We are not registered in Massachusetts and are unable to adopt to residents of MA. ##1078677##

Story
Chance is a gentle soul. He loves companionship with people and other dogs. This little guy was found dumped with a group of dogs in the spring time. A rescuer managed to trap him. It took a little bit of time for him to learn to trust, but once he came around he has opened up leaps and bounds. If you're looking for a cuddle bug on the couch while watching the television, or going to the dog park, he is the guy for you. His easy-going disposition is hard to resist. Chance is fully vetted: he has been neutered, micro chipped, and has all core vaccinations. Currently, he is located in New England. His adoption fee is $350. A small price to pay for many years of unconditional love. We are working on a potty training with chance. He's shown quite an improvement, but will need someone patient so that he continues on the right path.     ##1852949##

Dolly is a pint size package of love. She’s a full blooded beagle and she’ll remain petite.   She’s about five months old, is fully vetted: spayed, Up-to-date on all core vaccinations, micro chipped, currently on a heartworm prevention and a flea and tick prevention.   She is a little puppy and requires lots of attention and training. Since she is a Hound, she can be vocal at times, so it would be best that she lives in a home and not an apartment, or close proximity to neighbors.    Hey sweet girl gets along great with other dogs and adores children!    Her adoption fee is $650. This includes the cost of transport to New England. ##1840664##
