Story
Beretta came to Coming Back Home Rescue on Easter Day after being found left for death in Alabama. She was shot by a .22(gun) and stranded. Thankfully, someone managed to get her to a shelter, but the situation was not much better. Due to the shelter being understaffed with only two members and having over 200 dogs, Beretta was constantly sitting in a cage with feces and urine. We could not look away at the situation and immediately arranged transport. By the time she got to us, she was fighting two infections on both entry and exit wounds. Now, she has recovered and looking for her forever home! Please don't mind a patch of missing hair as she was shaved during treatment - but we promise, she has a BEAUTIFUL coat which is very soft. Solid with Merle. Beretta has been a great house guest and gets along with just about everyone. However, she is much slower to approach men unless there is another dog present. We believe this all stemmed from her past. She is mostly house trained but may use the restroom in the home if not taken out in a timely manner. Catahoula Leopard Dogs are HIGH-ENERGY dogs and designed for work. Beretta is no exception but makes a great family pet for an active family. It is highly recommended to do research on the breed before filling out an application. For more information, visit; https://trello.com/c/BDYjDAmx **Spay Appointment on April 22nd**

Story
**Pending Transport Scheduling to Coming Back HomeRescue** Specky has been lucky in one way but not many others. He's been at the North Augusta Pound Dogs - SC since the middle of March and still sits at those kennels without interest or much support to help get him out. We've had him on our Petfinder with no interest. Despite that, his euthanization has been delayed due to the shelter not being overly crowded just yet but it only takes a day to reach that with their lack of kennels and he's already past his 1 month mark. Specky and one other (Sadie) would be the first to go. This IS urgent. We have reached out to our friend Toni Maria to let her know if some of our adoptions go through, he can get a golden ticket out of there. That being said, if adoptions don't go through, he has to sit there to wait for the unknown. Please tag rescues who may be interested. We will assist with transport. Coming Back Home Rescue is committed to Specky as soon as space opens up and will be brought to Ohio to escape euthanization. Foster or Foster to Adopt: Specky is 2-3 Years Old Dog Friendly Shy, but Warms Up He has big googly eyes because he has the powers of the universe behind them. An all-knowing guru of zen and love. Okay, maybe not exactly that but he's a very sweet boy. He makes silly faces, and makes you wonder, "What goes through his mind?" You can watch Dennis Briatico read him a story with Specky in his lap via FONAA - Friends of North Augusta Animals on Facebook. Up to date on Vaccines. We'll schedule his neuter or adopter can. About 30-40 Pounds. Cannot cat test at this time. Out of State Adoptions Available

Story
If you're seeing this post, that means we're looking to save this life from one of our rescue partners. About Dog: Queenie was found as a stray and not reclaimed by owner. She has been at the shelter since the beginning of April and her time runs out in 10 days. Queenie is described to be incredibly sweet, affectionate and playful. She gets along with other dogs and just a peach to be around. On April 10th, she was adopted but returned within days because she kept hopping their fence when she was left on her own for hours on end. The adopters would not let her inside their home and wanted to keep her as an outside dog. Queenie did not want to live that kind of life. However, because she's been returned, she doesn't get a second chance. Please help us find Queenie a forever home. She is a #40, female. Not Spayed but will be scheduled through us or through the adopter. Queenie is vaccinated and heartworm Negative. She is about a year old if not a little younger. Out of State adoption eligible. Dog DNA suggest she's a Bulldog/Staffy Mix. How We Operate; We work all over the United States to save adoptable animals off death row. Queenie is located in North Augusta, South Carolina where we have been working with rescue partners in that area for over a year. Once an appropriate home has been found, we will arrange transport or approved adopters have the option to go rescue Queenie in their own arrangements (typically a 2-day trip). The animal control officers there will not let you in without authorization from us or another approved rescue. Covering transport eases our workload and we'll deduct a portion of her adoption fee to where only the spay fee would need to be covered. Or, adopters have the option to also cover the spay and we'll take it out of her adoption fee as well until waived. Start by filling out an application and we'll guide you through the rest. For any questions, don't hesitate to reach out.

NOTES: (4-17-2024) This dog has been in our rescue for 168 days. Applications received: 0 Coming Back Home Rescue does travel to surrounding states. We ALWAYS respond to inquiries in regard to our animals typically within 24-48 hours. Please check your spam for our application or contact us directly. Lenny has been with us for too long and is still looking for his forever home. He was pulled from Medina County Animal Shelter after being noted he was pending euthanization due to being people and dog aggressive. Lenny broke the stereotyping and the judgement gaze of many as he turns out to love everyone and gets along with dogs. Lenny is very empathetic, caring and affection with his people. He gets along with other dogs that respect boundaries and not high-energy. While he can get a little overly excited sometimes to "new" things, he does well when corrected. Please help us find him a forever home! Share his PetFinder. Lenny has a good balance of calm and excitable. High food motivated - Care to share your sandwich? **Home / Handler Recommendations** Beginner Friendly • Homes with moderate human interactions. • Handler with patience and understanding.

Story
Introducing Leif, a charming companion who found his way to us after being discovered as a stray in an apartment building. It seems his previous owners may have overlooked his wonderful qualities, but their loss is your gain, as Leif is truly the sweetest and most playful pup, eager to embark on a journey of learning and affection. At just around a year old, Leif is a big-hearted guy who occasionally forgets his size when showering you with kisses and cuddles. He gets along well with larger dogs, though his exuberance might be a bit much for smaller ones. Leif's perfect match would be a home with ample space for outdoor adventures – he's quite the fan of playtime. He also adores his cozy bed, a simple luxury he never had to go without again. Having known hunger, Leif's appetite for love, pets, and yummy treats is insatiable. He would thrive in an active, youthful home with some experience in canine companionship, or with someone who's willing to guide him through a few training classes, allowing this exceptional boy to reach his full potential. Leif, a unique and affectionate soul, seeks nothing more than compassion, understanding, and love. Could that special someone be you? If you are interested in meeting Leif, send us a message!

Story
Allow us to introduce you to Norris. This charming fella came to us some time ago as a stray. Initially timid, Norris has come a long way since then, now reveling in playful activities. With a toy, a yard, or even a baby pool, Norris is the happiest boy when he is enjoying swimming and playtime. His play style might involve a bit of vocalization, but it's all in the spirit of fun. As far as Norris is concerned…there is never enough toys! After his energetic bursts, Norris finds joy in stretching out and lounging. He adores nestling his nose under your arm for head rubs and sitting snugly between your legs. At around 2 years old, he's a leash-walking pro, making him a great companion for an active lifestyle. He will need an active household. While he's tolerant with other dogs, we believe he'd thrive best as the sole pet in the household. We do think he would thrive with someone who has a bit of experience with owning dogs. He would thrive with someone who knows how to lead him to be the best boy. Due to his exuberant nature, we recommend a home without young children and a securely fenced yard for this lively boy. This sweetheart just needs his very own forevermore. Is that with you? If you are interested in Norris, send us a message to set up a potential meet and greet!
