Story
Bandit needs a new home. We have tried to make him a part of our family, raising him since a puppy and keeping him for 4.5 years but it is not meant to be. Not everyone in our house turns out to be a “dog person.” He has become possessive over toys and treats; some say he must be jealous of the baby. We hope to find someone willing to reinforce good training for him, but we have not the time nor the patience. He might be okay with other dogs and cats, but he likes to hunt rodents. He does not have house accidents or chew things that are not his. He does not get scared of storms but hates sprinkles and mowers. We will give you ALL his stuff if you promise to take good care of him—combs, flea-tick meds, treats, food, raised storage bowl thing, every water bowl, every toy, leash, his backet of blankets and towels he likes to bring out and show people, even his old crate and dog house if you want it!

Story
Pongo is a super sweet cuddly dog with lots of energy. He loves to run really fast. We adopted him from southern Ohio and loved him right away. He got anxious about bringing a baby home, and since my wife and I are in our baby phase, it’s not fair to pongo to hide him away, so looking for a home that will love him. He is good with dogs and older kids that can stand their own, not the best with infants.

Story
Say hello to ApolloApollo is a 6 year-old Pitbull mix who weighs 85 lbs! Apollo is a happy go lucky boy who may need a few yummy treats in order to feel comfortable. He enjoys playing with toys or lounging on the couch, but he also loves a nice long walk. Once he knows you, he is very affectionate and can`t wait to smother you with kisses. Apollo can be nervous with new dogs and needs a slow introduction to form a lasting bond. With management and a gentle hand, he shows potential to live with another dog, but he would likely prefer to be the only dog in his forever home so he can soak up all of your love! Apollo does not show potential to live with cats in his forever home. Since he can be sensitive at first, if there kids in his forever home he would do best with kids ages 13 and older. If Apollo sounds like he might be a good fit, stop in today to meet this handsome pup!

Story
Meet Cash! Cash is a 3-year-old mixed breed boy weighing around 51 pounds with a gentle heart and a thoughtful nature. He can be sensitive when meeting new people and may need some extra time to feel comfortable in unfamiliar situations. With patience, calm interactions, and consistency, Cash begins to relax and show his young playful nature. He’s looking for adopters who understand that trust is earned and are willing to let him move at his own pace.Because of his sensitivity, if there are children in Cash’s forever home, they must be ages 13 and older and able to respect his boundaries. Cash is insecure and hesitant around other dogs, so slow, structured introductions would be best if there are future canine companions in the home. But he may prefer to be the only pup in is forever home so that he could soak up all your attention. At this time, we are unsure how Cash does with cats.Cash would thrive in a calm, supportive environment where he can continue building confidence and forming strong bonds. With the right home, he has all the potential to become a loyal and loving companion. If Cash sounds like the kind of dog you’d like to give a chance to, stop in and meet him at The Humane Society of Summit County — he may just be waiting for you!

Story
Meet Achilles!Achilles is a goofy 5 year old 60 pound male pitt-mix ready to find his forever home and forever family! Sweet but sensitive in nature, Achilles may take a little longer than the average pup to warm up to new people and places, but once he does, he transforms into a bouncy happy pup. Playful and sweet, Achilles is equal parts activity and affection. He loves chewing on a squeaky toy as much as he enjoys spending time with his favorite humans.Achilles shows potential to live with other pups in his forever home, however he will need a slow introduction as he can come on to his canine companions quite strong. A slow intro will help ensure that both Achilles and his new pup pal feel safe and comfortable as they adjust to each other`s presence. At this time we are unsure of how Achilles does with cats.Due to his sensitive nature, if there are children living in Achille`s forever home, we are requiring that they are 13+.Looking to give a sweet, goofy pup the loving home and endless play he needs? Stop by the Humane Society of Summit County today and meet Achilles, or call (330) 487-0333 ext. 803 for more information!
