Story
6-Year-Old German Shepherd / Elkhound / Australian Shepherd Mix – Looking for a Loving Home This sweet 6-year-old German Shepherd, Elkhound, and Australian Shepherd mix needs a new forever home because of apartment restrictions. This is a very hard decision, and we hope to find someone who will love him as much as we do. He weighs about 70–75 pounds and is up to date on routine vaccinations. He is not neutered. He is house-trained, affectionate, and has a wonderful personality. He does great with kids, other dogs, and cats, and currently lives with all of them. He is active and high-energy, loves fetch, and will happily bring the ball back every time. He is smart, eager to please, knows several commands and tricks, and enjoys being with his family. He would do best with an active owner or family who can give him exercise, attention, and love. We are looking for a safe, loving home. A rehoming fee can be discussed.

This record is for holding generic dog applications This is a generic dog or puppy application. In the "If this pet is not available" field, describe the dog or puppy you are interested in even if we don't have one currently available. Also indicate if  you are willing to foster to adopt. This will allow us to pull a potential dog or puppy but you must be willing to give the animal time to decompress if you indicate this as an option. Some of the animals we get may be pretty scared initially as they get used to a more loving environment.  Adoption Fee $ TBD based on the dog or puppy but usually range from 300-500. All our animals are up-to-date on age appropriate shots, fixed and microchipped prior to adoption. To fill out an application for this animal or a general application click https://www.tobyscrittercoverescue.org/adoptionapp/    Adoption Fee: $ The adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and current monthly flea and parasite prevention. Story
Please contact Jamie (jamie@pawsandprayers.org) for more information about this pet.  Meet Jake! This handsome Lab mix is 1–2 years young, weighs 52 pounds, and is ready to find a family of his own. Jake is a laid-back guy who enjoys spending time with his people. Like many young dogs, Jake could benefit from some basic training and continued guidance. He already knows how to sit, and with a little patience, consistency, and a pocket full of treats, we think he'll be eager to learn more. Jake's favorite thing is simply being with his humans. Whether you're heading out for a walk, relaxing on the couch, or tackling your daily routine, Jake is happy to be your sidekick. He's a sweet, easygoing boy looking for someone willing to help him become the best dog he can be. Cats? That's still a mystery. Jake hasn't met any feline roommates yet, so we can't say whether he'll want to be best friends or simply pretend they don't exist. Jake has been exposed to Lyme disease but is currently asymptomatic. He is being treated with doxycycline (doxy) and is doing well. His adopter should continue routine veterinary care, including annual Lyme disease screening and any follow-up recommendations from your veterinarian. Jake is currently staying at our shelter so we cannot say whether or not he’s housebroken. His new family should be prepared to take on house training, which is to be expected whenever bringing a new pet home, he will need some time to adjust and get in to a routine. Jake’s adoption fee is $350.00 Please complete a non-obligatory application at www.pawsandprayers.org All Paws and Prayers animals are up to date on vaccinations (age appropriate) and are given monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Adoption fee also includes spay / neuter and microchipping. Please read the entire bio before emailing the foster with questions. Meet and greets are not arranged unless an adoption application is filled out and approved and are by appointment only.  Inquiries submitted through Petfinder or other third-party websites do not submit as applications in our database.  July 4, 2026, 11:55 am

Story
Please contact Amber (alfedor@sbcglobal.net) for more information about this pet.  Bruiser has come a long way in his foster mom’s house. He came in very timid and scared. He is still iffy to strangers but he now is one of the pack. He gives kisses and comes when you call him. He has started playing with his foster mom and doing zoomies. He is a funny boy but may need some time to adjust to his new home. He has also gotten into shape by losing around 1.5 lbs and gaining muscle. He is a lean mean napping machine now.  Bruiser is looking for a chill home with limited guests. He does adjust to friendly dogs.  He is a good boy and being house broken is a win. He does have fear aggression. Bruiser has the personality of a chihuahua needing a hands off adjustment time. If you are interested in Bruiser and would like more information please email his foster mom at alfedor@sbcglobal.net   Bruiser’s adoption fee is $250 All Paws and Prayers animals are up to date on vaccinations (age appropriate) and are given monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Adoption fee also includes spay / neuter and microchipping. Please complete a non-obligatory adoption application at https://pawsandprayers.org/adoption-application/ Please read the entire bio before emailing the foster with questions. Meet and greets are not arranged unless an adoption application is filled out and approved and are by appointment only.  Resident pets of all applicants must have had routine veterinary care, be spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines per the recommendations of your vet, current on heartworm tests and prevention (dogs only). We will verify these records; giving your veterinarian permission to speak with us will help expedite the processing of your application.  Should your pet have a medical issue that may prohibit any of these, please note that on your application and we will also verify this with your veterinarian. Inquiries submitted through Petfinder or other third-party websites do not submit as applications in our database.      July 4, 2026, 11:55 am

Story
Please contact Sheri (sswank1@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.  If you are looking for an incredibly sweet dog to add to your family, look no further. This 5 year old foster dog has easily won my heart over, and she'll do the same to yours. She is doing great with housetraining and crate training. I have left her unattended in the house (no crate) and she does well but will get in the garbage or steal food off the counter. She loves toys, and usually has to grab one to take outside during potty/playtime. She loves to play fetch in the fenced in yard, but can easily jump over a 4ft fence, so I am asking for a 6 foot fence, or someone that loves outdoor activities. She loves curling up in a little ball on her cat bed on the couch or snuggling at bedtime. She lives with another foster dog and does good. She's very receptive to commands, and does ok on the leash, but does pull a bit. A special  harness seems to greatly help with that! We do not know how she is with cats!!! If you would like to be considered to adopt this cute girl, please fill out our application at pawsandprayers.org, and I will be in touch after it has been reviewed!! Her adoption fee is $200, and includes her spay surgery, up to date vaccines, rabies, heartworm, flea and tick prevention, dewormer, microchip, and endless love from Sweet Honey!! Please email me at sswank1@gmail.com with any questions. July 4, 2026, 11:55 am

Story
Bonnie is a 3 year old Aussie shepherd/corgi/sheltie mix female. She is only 30 pounds and does not mind being an only dog. She is dog selective but prefers males and will play non stop. She is up to date on all vaccines, microchipped and spayed and ready to go to her new home. She jumps up a lot. Working on the jumping but part of that is her young energy. She loves to kiss people and likes sitting outside when it is sunny. This is one girl that loves belly rubs.  To adopt Bonnie, please do our non-obligatory application at www.pawsandprayers.org so we can see if you are a good match. She would do best with a fenced yard as she started out as an outside dog and likes to survey the landscape but she gets pretty attached and does not leave home.  Her adoption fee is $350. Any questions, please email marty@pawsandprayers.org.  Professional photography donated by  Desiree Dube Photos  July 4, 2026, 11:55 am
