Story
Pongo is a super sweet cuddly dog with lots of energy. He loves to run really fast. We adopted him from southern Ohio and loved him right away. He got anxious about bringing a baby home, and since my wife and I are in our baby phase, it’s not fair to pongo to hide him away, so looking for a home that will love him. He is good with dogs and older kids that can stand their own, not the best with infants.

Story
Maggie is a 3-year-old sweetheart who perfectly balances couch potato energy with a love for adventure. This low-riding, beefy girl has a gentle soul and one very important life goal: to be as close to her people as possible at all times. Maggie recently returned to her foster home after experiencing a frightening incident while training to be a service dog for her adopter. She  was attacked by another dog. While she came back with some scars, her spirit remained completely intact. True to her nature, Maggie continues to be incredibly loving, trusting, and sweet. You would never guess what she’s been through — her heart is still wide open, and she greets the world with kindness and affection. She absolutely adores car rides, happily joins in on adventures, and then transforms into the ultimate cuddle companion once back home. Personal space? Maggie doesn’t really believe in it. She wants to lean on you, sit next to you, and remind you constantly that you are her favorite person. Maggie is housebroken and does wonderfully in her crate, especially when a treat is involved (food is definitely her love language!). Toys are optional, but snacks are everything — her foster mom keeps treats in moderation to help her maintain her healthy 50-pound figure. Though Maggie has done well with my foster dogs she’s met in the past and loves her large foster brother, she would truly thrive as the center of someone’s world. After spending her early years without consistent love — and previously raising puppies of her own — Maggie is now fully embracing the pampered life she always deserved. She was heartworm positive when rescued but completed treatment like a champ and is now healthy, active, and ready for adventures big and small. What Maggie wants most is simple: a safe home, a soft couch, and a human who will love her as fiercely as she loves them. Adoption is $300 which includes her spay, age-appropriate vaccines, microchip and current monthly flea/tick prevention. This record is for holding generic dog applications This is a generic dog or puppy application. In the "If this pet is not available" field, describe the dog or puppy you are interested in even if we don't have one currently available. Also indicate if  you are willing to foster to adopt. This will allow us to pull a potential dog or puppy but you must be willing to give the animal time to decompress if you indicate this as an option. Some of the animals we get may be pretty scared initially as they get used to a more loving environment.  Adoption Fee $ TBD based on the dog or puppy but usually range from 300-500. All our animals are up-to-date on age appropriate shots, fixed and microchipped prior to adoption. Story
Black Lab x GSD | Affectionate | Cat Friendly | Dog friendly |Kid friendly|7 months old| Housebroken  Angie has been waiting so patiently for her forever home, tail wagging, kisses ready, hoping today is the day someone finally chooses her... She is one of the most affectionate dogs you'll ever meet. Wherever her person is, that's where Angie wants to be. She is genuinely happy, full of energy, love, and has complete devotion to her family. Even though Angie may look like a grown-up, she is still very much a puppy. She needs a confident person who gives affection AND boundaries, not one without the other. She has responded beautifully to training. Leash walking is night and day better. Jumping has improved. She knows 'sit' and 'crate.' She is definitely one smart girl (so she will test you to see if you'll be consistent)! Lab/German Shepherd mixes have the potential to be the best dog you've ever had or a full-time job. What's the difference? Training. It's not optional for Angie. It's the investment that determines which dog she becomes. Angie loves other dogs (big and small) and does great with cats. She is housebroken, though like any puppy, accidents happen. She currently sleeps in a crate next to her foster's bed at night. One thing to know going in: Like MANY dogs, Angie has separation anxiety. She is crate trained but being alone is hard for her. She gets vocal and distressed. She's improving, and a good bone helps, but 8 hours alone daily is not the right fit. She does best in a home where someone is around for a good part of the day. She is not a good fit for aparment living. If you are a confident, loving, active adopter who can provide structure and presence, Angie will give you everything she has. Adoption Fee: $350 -- includes spay, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations, and flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Apply at pawsandprayers.org/adoption-application (only applications through this link are accepted). Contact your vet to authorize us to speak with them as soon as you apply -- applications will not move forward without it. Questions: 4leggedlayover@gmail.comJune 12, 2026, 6:06 pm

Story
Please contact Jamie (jamie@pawsandprayers.org) for more information about this pet.  Say hello to Puppy Romeo, an adorable 5–6-month-young Corgi/Shepherd mix (or at least that's our best guess based on his looks!). This handsome young pup currently weighs 23 pounds and still has some growing to do. Romeo is a friendly, easygoing boy who loves people and gets along well with other dogs. He has not yet been introduced to cats, so his compatibility with feline friends is unknown. Romeo would do well with kids, but remember that he is still a puppy. While he's more laid back than some of his four-legged peers, he occasionally forgets his manners and may get a little bouncy when excitement strikes. Tiny humans could find that enthusiasm a bit overwhelming. This sweet boy is crate trained and loves nothing more than curling up in a lap once playtime is over. Romeo is still working on his leash manners and will need continued training as he grows. Since Romeo is currently staying at our shelter, we cannot say whether or not he’s housebroken. His future family should be ready to take on house training with patience and consistency. If you're looking for a sweet, friendly pup with a goofy personality and plenty of love to give, Romeo is ready to steal your heart—and probably your spot on the couch. Romeo’s adoption fee is $375.00 Please complete a non-obligatory application at www.pawsandprayers.org All Paws and Prayers animals are up to date on vaccinations (age appropriate) and are given monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Adoption fee also includes spay / neuter and microchipping. Please read the entire bio before emailing the foster with questions. Meet and greets are not arranged unless an adoption application is filled out and approved and are by appointment only.  Inquiries submitted through Petfinder or other third-party websites do not submit as applications in our database. Story
Please contact Amber (alfedor@sbcglobal.net) for more information about this pet.  Bruiser has come a long way in his foster mom’s house. He came in very timid and scared. He is still iffy to strangers but he now is one of the pack. He gives kisses and comes when you call him. He has started playing with his foster mom and doing zoomies. He is a funny boy but may need some time to adjust to his new home. He has also gotten into shape by losing around 1.5 lbs and gaining muscle. He is a lean mean napping machine now.  Bruiser is looking for a chill home with limited guests. He does adjust to friendly dogs.  He is a good boy and being house broken is a win. He does have fear aggression. Bruiser has the personality of a chihuahua needing a hands off adjustment time. If you are interested in Bruiser and would like more information please email his foster mom at alfedor@sbcglobal.net   Bruiser’s adoption fee is $250 All Paws and Prayers animals are up to date on vaccinations (age appropriate) and are given monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Adoption fee also includes spay / neuter and microchipping. Please complete a non-obligatory adoption application at https://pawsandprayers.org/adoption-application/ Please read the entire bio before emailing the foster with questions. Meet and greets are not arranged unless an adoption application is filled out and approved and are by appointment only.  Resident pets of all applicants must have had routine veterinary care, be spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines per the recommendations of your vet, current on heartworm tests and prevention (dogs only). Inquiries submitted through Petfinder or other third-party websites do not submit as applications in our database.      June 12, 2026, 6:06 pm
