Story
Meet Asher! He is looking for the perfect Furever home to call his own.
Asher is a 10-week-old puppy weighing approximately 8 pounds. Based on his DNA results and current growth, we estimate he will mature to approximately 35–45 pounds, although this is only an estimate and cannot be guaranteed.
His DNA results show:
48.7% Australian Cattle Dog
29.4% American Eskimo Dog
9.8% Supermutt (primarily Russell terrier and Collie)
7% Rottweiler
5.1% Boxer
Asher is an incredibly smart, affectionate, playful puppy looking for a family that understands the needs of an intelligent working-breed mix. He is full of personality, loves to play, and is eager to learn. In fact, he learned to sit in just five minutes! He is already working on additional commands and is learning to walk on a leash with his harness. For such a young puppy, he is remarkably intelligent and doing an amazing job. With the right guidance and continued training, he is going to make an exceptional lifelong companion.
Asher’s Ideal Forever Home
Because of Asher’s breed mix and personality, we are looking for a home that can provide both the physical exercise and mental enrichment he needs to thrive.
His ideal family will have:
-An active family committed to daily walks, playtime, adventures, and exercise.
-A commitment to providing daily mental stimulation, including puzzle toys, food enrichment, obedience training, scent work, trick training, or other activities that challenge his brilliant mind.
-A commitment to positive, reward-based training using patience, consistency, praise, and structure. Harsh training methods are not appropriate for Asher.
-A playful, well-mannered medium-sized dog who enjoys somewhat rough play (which can be typical of Asher’s breed mix), and also has the patience to help teach a young puppy appropriate canine manners.
-Children 7-8 years of age and older. Like many herding breeds, Asher may instinctively try to herd running children by gently nipping at heels or clothing. This is normal breed behavior—not aggression—but it requires proper training and management.
-A family with the time and commitment to continue his training, socialization, and development as he grows.
-A lifelong commitment to making him a cherished member of the family.
-A fenced yard would be great but not required.
-Asher is being fostered in Chardon, OH.

Australian Cattle Dogs are among the most intelligent working breeds, and American Eskimo Dogs are also exceptionally bright and energetic. Together, this combination creates a dog that thrives on having both a job to do and a family to love. Without adequate physical exercise and mental enrichment, intelligent dogs like Asher can become bored and develop unwanted behaviors.
