Story
EXPERIENCED OWNER. ONLY DOG. Meet Pugsley! ~3yo. A super cute, energetic, funny, SMART, bundle of love. We adopted him in Ohio from a vet office January 2024 and moved him to California with us in April. Since bringing him home, he’s provided lots of laughs, snuggles, and fun; however, he’s also brought quite a bit of anxiety. Unfortunately, Pugs resource guards and wants to be the “big dog” of the house. He has attacked our 50lb dog multiple times- once to the point we had to go to ER vet. He is quick to try to attack any dog larger than him. Rehoming is not something we want to do, but feel we have to do. Our big dog just had a huge surgery and has cancer. Pugsley continues to try and attack him, so is in his crate most of the day to keep them separated. It’s just not fair to either of them. He is playful with cats. AMAZING with babies and children under guidance. Intelligent, but strong willed- treats go a LONG way. Has to be on a schedule for potty time. Needs to be the only dog!

Story
Dog sitting and owner never returned. This has been difficult because we are not a pet family. The dog housed in garage, he seems to prefer to be outside. He does not like the basement and will not go down there. He is playful and I little clumsy. He has not shown any aggressive behavior towards any of our guest including children. He has gotten out of the yard a couple times, once he was sitting at bus stop with kids he did not know. When people walk dogs by the fence he runs back and forth barking. I think he is a sweet dog but we can't manage him. We tried to get him in a no kill shelter and was not able to. We have many family events at the home with different people and again no issues

Story
Cannoli is a 10-pound, multi-colored Pomeranian. She is approximately 7 yrs old. She came to Dogs Unlimited Rescue after a kind Good Samaritan found her in heartbreaking condition. This tiny girl was severely matted, dirty, hungry, thirsty, and covered in fleas and ticks. Despite everything she has endured, Cannoli is as sweet as can be. She loves being with her people, enjoys sitting by your side soaking up affection, and has a very calm, loving personality. With her beautiful multi-colored coat, sweet eyes, and gentle nature, it is easy to see why everyone who meets her falls in love. Cannoli appears to do well with other small friendly dogs, walks nicely on a leash, and is doing great with her house training. She is also completely crate trained and settles comfortably in her crate. While we have not had the opportunity to test her with cats, we do not anticipate any issues. Because of her small size and mature age, we believe Cannoli would thrive in a home with older, respectful children (10 years and older) who can appreciate her gentle nature and provide a calmer environment. Cannoli has already had a thorough veterinary evaluation. The good news is that all of her bloodwork came back looking good. Unfortunately, she did test positive for Lyme disease and is currently being treated with doxycycline. Her veterinarians expect her to make a full recovery. It is important to note that once a dog tests positive for Lyme disease, they can continue to test positive for years afterward, even after successful treatment. As part of her workup, Cannoli also had X-rays and an ultrasound performed to establish a baseline and help determine whether she had previously been spayed before undergoing surgery. Her X-rays did reveal some arthritis in her hips, and one hip appears to be slipping in and out of place. However, most of the time this does not slow her down. She will need steps to get on/off furniture and a home with carpet/rugs due to her hip issues. Slippery floors will be a challenge for her. Cannoli was spayed and had her dental on 6/10. She had a lot of teeth pulled and will need to be on a soft/canned food diet as a result. She will be available for adoption in approximately 2 weeks after she has had time to fully heal. We only do local adoptions. Adopters are required to be within a one hour radius of the greater Cleveland area.

Story
WE ARE LOOKING FOR A FOSTER-TO-ADOPT HOME FOR ASHER. Our tiny little Asher is almost 8 weeks old, weighs just 4 pounds, and we believe he may be a Jack Russell Terrier mix—but we are still waiting on his DNA test, so his breed (and even his adult size) is still a bit of a mystery! Asher is absolutely full of life! He is playful, curious, fearless, incredibly smart, and has all the energy you would expect from a puppy. He is already using puppy pads in his playpen and has even mastered the stairs to the couch! Because he is still so tiny and delicate, Asher needs a family that understands the special care young puppies require. At this age, he needs frequent meals, careful supervision outdoors, and with the summer heat, he will need to spend most of his time inside where his body temperature can be safely regulated. Asher loves other dogs and would likely enjoy having a canine companion. However, because he is a typical puppy who is constantly playing, biting, and tugging, any resident dog must have an excellent temperament—patient enough to tolerate puppy antics while appropriately correcting him if needed. He is basically a baby with teeth and no diapers! We would love for Asher to begin bonding with his forever family as soon as possible, so we are looking for a Foster-to-Adopt home. Here is how that works: - Dogs Unlimited Rescue will remain his legal owner until he is neutered at approximately 6 months of age. -During that time, we will cover all approved veterinary care and medical expenses. We are also requiring that all vet care during this time is provided by Midwest Veterinary Hospital in Wickliffe, OH. - Once he is neutered, the adoption will be finalized. We feel this gives Asher the opportunity to grow up with the family he will spend the rest of his life with, while ensuring he receives all of his necessary veterinary care. Requirements: - A securely fenced yard is required (no invisible/electric fences). - Children must be 8 years of age or older due to his tiny size and delicate nature. - Someone home enough to provide the time, supervision, and commitment that such a young puppy needs. - An understanding that his breed mix and adult size are still unknown until we receive his DNA results. - Must live within one hour of the Cleveland area. Asher is looking for more than just a home—he is looking for a family ready for all the fun, laughter, chaos, cuddles, and responsibility that come with raising a puppy. If you think you may be the perfect match for this sweet little boy, we would love to hear from you! The first step in our adoption process is to complete an adoption application on our website at: www.dogsunlimitedrescue.org

Story
Nora is a wonderful, beautiful, sweet Husky, who we rescued at the end of 2024. She is a dream to walk and run with. She does well with our 7 and 10yo kids and our other dog (10lb) and cat but we introduced them gradually. According to the staff where she boards, she does well with older male dogs. We have become too busy to be able to provide her with the amount of exercise and attention she deserves so want to find her a better suited family. She would be great with a person or family that goes hiking or running regularly. She is still a husky so some experience is probably helpful.
