Story
My story Here's what the humans have to say about me: Mia is a beautiful 47 pound Mountain Cur Labrador Retriever mix. She is about 2 years old and is a very playful and extremely smart. She enjoys running in the sun and playing with her friends. Don’t let her activeness fool you though, she loves her cuddles and kisses. Her entire body wiggles when she wags her tail! She would be great in a home with a bigger dog, that respects boundaries. She has a wonderful temperament and plays with all the dogs in her group. She has great dog social skills, but expects others to show her the same. She gives lots of kisses, does great in the car and on a leash. We all totally in love with her, and she is ready for her own home! Her brother Boone was adopted and now its her turn! Mia was confiscated by police for total neglect and abuse along the border of Mexico. Both Mia and Astrid were nursed back to health by our techs and wonderful volunteers. There is nothing that would make them more happy than to wake up in a warm loving home. NEWEST VIDEO! https://youtu.be/6TmCIKOvEVI?si=bxyOLdpnXL8axaJV You can watch another video of Mia here: https://youtu.be/fcMs0Nj_pYk?si=rGwqEwbwBvVBE9E0 Mia is located in Hondo, Texas and a meet and greet can be scheduled with approved application! Story
Say hello to Dakota! This beautiful girl loves running in our play yards, lounging in the dog pools, and belly rubs. She was adopted out but has come back to BAHS by no fault of her or the adopters. We have now learned the type of home that will be the best fit for Dakota. She needs to be in a very calm environment with only 1-2 people and no cats. Dakota also needs plenty of time to learn to trust, so she will need everyone in her future family to visit her for a few months before going home. Once this gorgeous girl gets to know you, she has plenty of love to give. Dakota is a Lab mix and was born on 11/7/2015. She is spayed, microchipped, current on all vaccinations, and takes preventive flea/tick/heartworm medicine. As with all of our dogs, Dakota must be an indoor dog. If you are interested in meeting Dakota, please email bahshelter@yahoo.com. If there are other dogs in your home, we require a meet and greet, which you can schedule via email at bahshelter@yahoo.com. If you cannot attend your scheduled visit, kindly text or call the volunteer you are meeting with before your scheduled visit. They are taking time out of their day to meet with you. Thank you!

Story
Meet Tito Tito is a sweet and tenderhearted dog who is about 3 years old and weighs 37 pounds. We rescued him from a shelter near the border of Mexico. He had a collar that was never changed and he still has scars from that experience. He has been with us for a year and is now ready for his own home. He does have a short warm-up period when meeting new people. Once he knows you will be kind, he loves to get attention and affection. Coming from the environment he was in previously, it is apparent that he wasn’t handled very much so he just needs time to trust and know that he is in a safe space. He loves his caretakers at the rescue. He is a sweet dog and has a heart of gold! He gets along well with the other dogs at the rescue and would benefit from another dog in the home. He would do best in a calm and patient home without small children where he can acclimate to new surroundings and learn to trust. He is a wonderful dog who just wants a family to call his own! Tito is located at our rescue in Hondo, Texas. He is neutered, up to date on all shots, microchipped and his adoption fee is $325. If you would like to add this tender cutie to your family, please review our process and complete an application here - https://www.tracyspawsrescue.org/adopt Learn more about our rescue here: https://www.facebook.com/TracysPawsRescue Services our dogs receive prior to adoption: Chagas Testing Heartworm and Tick Testing (age appropriate) All age-appropriate vaccines Heartworm and flea/tick preventatives Spay/neuter surgery Microchip *The breed(s) listed are guessed and based on the dog's physical appearance* Tito was treated for Chagas disease and has successfully completed his treatment. He is now Chagas negative! For more information, please review here: https://www.tracyspawsrescue.org/chagas
