Petunia is a female Dachshund/Terrier mix. We believe she is just under a year old and weighs about 30 lbs. She is spayed and up to date on her vaccines. Petunia is a shy, sweet dog with a great personality and has definitely come a long way. Loud noises still scare her a little. Petunia is crate and pee pad trained and will do good on a leash as long as she feels comfortable. She has been fostered around cats and another dog. She loves to play and socialize with them. Petunia is a very smart girl and loves to play fetch! Petunia did test positive for anaplasmosis, a tick diseases, but has since been treated. Petunia is available for adoption to the east coast to an approved adopter. Story
Grandma is about 4 years old and weighs 11 lbs. She is a sweet, gentle, and well-behaved dog. She is good with other dogs and would be a perfect fit for a family who is looking for a calm and easy-going companion. She does not do well with cats. She’s very patient, good with kids and house and kennel trained. Grandma loves cuddling up with her favorite human. She would be the perfect addition to a family who is looking for a companion to share quiet evenings and relaxed weekends with. Grandma is an excellent listener and is always eager to provide doggy-love and companionship. Grandma walks good on a leash and loves car rides. If you think you can give this sweet dog the home she deserves, please inquire about adopting Grandma today Grandma tested positive for heartworms in March but has since been treated. We suggest she be re-tested in 6 months. Grandma is being fostered in Mission, TX and will make the trip to the east coast to an approved adopter.

Everyone, meet Paige!! Paige is is 1 to 2 years old. She is short and stocky weighing about 25 lbs. She is fully vaccinated, spayed and microchipped. Paige tested positive for heartworms and anaplasmosis (tick disease) but has since been treated for both. It will take 6 months to a year for heartworm treatment to work so we recommend retesting in 6 months. Paige is the sweetest girl you could know. She is quite, kennel trained and house trained. She walks great on a leash but loves to lay around and sleep most of the day. Her crate is her safe spot at night and she will follow you around the house the rest of the day. She has not been around children and needs a slow introduction to strangers as she is learning that people are ok. Paige is the perfect companion for watching TV and snuggling on the couch. Story
Miss Twiggy is a 3 year old Dachshund/Chihuahua mix who weighs about 15 lbs. She loves to play with toys and is very active & lovable. She enjoys laying in the sun or will lay next to you while watching TV. She gets along with other dogs and absolutely loves people. She eats and sleeps in her crate. She is kennel trained and we believe she's house trained. Kind of hard to tell since her current foster has multiple dogs and a doggy door, which she knows how to use. She is also great on a leash, loves going for long walks and loves going on golf cart rides! :) Twiggy tested positive for heartworms and Ehrlichia (tick disease) in February. We suggest she be retested for heartworms in 6 months. She has since been treated for both. She is spayed and up to date on all of her vaccines. At the time of her spay, we had her dew claws removed on both back legs. Twiggy is being fostered in Harlingen, TX but will make the trip to the east coast for an approved adopter.
