Story
Introducing Auburn! Auburn is a beautiful Cattle Dog / Heeler mix who is approximately 3 years old and currently weighs 30 pounds. We rescued this gorgeous gal from the Hondo, TX shelter and although we don’t really know much bout he background, it is clear that people have not always been very kind to her. During her spay surgery, our vet discovered that she had been shot in the leg with a pellet gun. All of that is behind her now and we are excited to help this sweet girl find the loving home she deserves. Auburn is a gentle and curious. She needs someone who will go slow with her so that she can feel comfortable knowing that she will be treated kindly. Once she feels safe, she loves getting attention and affection. She gets along well with the other dogs in her playgroup and is happy and playful! With patience and lots of love we know Auburn will blossom and become a wonderful, loving companion to her new family. She is just waiting for that special person to understand her! She has a heart of gold and shows ZERO aggression of any kind. Sweet, submissive and needs one on one time and love, that we cannot give her here at the rescue. Auburn is located at our rescue in Hondo, Texas. She is spayed, up to date on all shots, microchipped and her adoption fee is $325. She is available for a meet and greet with an approved application. Auburn tested positive for Chagas disease and has started her treatment. This is completely curable after treatment and dogs can go on to live long and happy lives. Our rescue is one of the first to do Chagas testing for all of the dogs in our care and is having measurable success in the treatment protocol. We are also focused on continued education and awareness of Chagas to help even more dogs. Story
Glory is a gorgeous, resilient pup who has overcome incredible challenges. She came to us after being tied up for 3 years - she was emaciated and had 7 puppies with her. Her spirit was not broken but she is cautious of new people for about 48 jours and then becomes your best friend. She deserves a forever home where she can be cherished, spoiled, and celebrated for the amazing survivor she is. Glory is proof that beauty, love, and happiness shine brighter than any hardship. Glory is located in our shelter in Hondo, Texas. Story
Finley - The "Shrunk in the Dryer" Irish Wolfhound Finley may look like an Irish Wolfhound who accidentally went through the dryer, but don't let his smaller size fool you - he's every bit as sweet, scruffy, and lovable as the full sized version. This adorable little guy is a big baby at heart, with a soft, gentle nature and a face that could melt anyone on sight. Finley would do best in a home with a smaller dog to help him build his confidence or with someone who works from home who is able to spend time with him and socialize him with new people and experiences. He prefers the ladies to men. Finley is all charm: cute, cuddly, and wonderfully scruffy, the kind of pup who just wants to be close to his people. Whether he's leaning in for affection or trotting around with his goofy grin, he brings warmth and joy wherever he goes. If you're looking for a sweet, scruffy companion with the soul of a giant and the size of a snuggle ready sidekick, Finley is your boy. Finley is located in Hondo, Texas. He is Chagas negative. If you would like to add this scruffy cutie to your family, please review our process and complete an application here - https://www.tracyspawsrescue.org/adopt Learn more about our rescue here: https://www.facebook.com/TracysPawsRescue Services our dogs receive prior to adoption: Chagas Testing Heartworm and Tick Testing (age appropriate) All age-appropriate vaccines Heartworm and flea/tick preventatives Spay/neuter surgery Microchip *The breed(s) listed are guessed and based on the dog's physical appearance*

Story
Esme is a bit nervous. New places and loud energy can be a lot for her. But here`s the part people miss: Dogs like Esme tend to form the deepest bonds once they feel safe. They`re thoughtful. Observant. Incredibly loyal. Esme is a 39-lb Whippet mix born on 5/22/2024, who gets along with other dogs and would do best in a quiet home with a confident canine friend. She needs regular exercise, but more than that, she needs patience, consistency and some one who won`t rush her heart. If you are interested in Esme,Visit us on Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday from 10am-1pm or email us at bahshelter @yahoo.com.
