Story
Say hello to Dakota! This beautiful girl loves running in our play yards, lounging in the dog pools, and belly rubs. She was adopted out but has come back to BAHS by no fault of her or the adopters. We have now learned the type of home that will be the best fit for Dakota. She needs to be in a very calm environment with only 1-2 people and no cats. Dakota also needs plenty of time to learn to trust, so she will need everyone in her future family to visit her for a few months before going home. Once this gorgeous girl gets to know you, she has plenty of love to give. Dakota is a Lab mix and was born on 11/7/2015. She is spayed, microchipped, current on all vaccinations, and takes preventive flea/tick/heartworm medicine. As with all of our dogs, Dakota must be an indoor dog. If you are interested in meeting Dakota, please email bahshelter@yahoo.com. If there are other dogs in your home, we require a meet and greet, which you can schedule via email at bahshelter@yahoo.com. If you cannot attend your scheduled visit, kindly text or call the volunteer you are meeting with before your scheduled visit. They are taking time out of their day to meet with you. Thank you!

Story
Meet Bugs! He is one of the smartest dogs we have here! He was rescued from the Pearsall shelter in Texas and now he’s safe and ready for a forever home. Bugs loves to explore, play with toys, get lots of scratches, and snuggle in your arms. In true terrier fashion, he’s clever and eager to learn. He’d thrive in a home where he gets plenty of playtime, attention, and love. He will need a puppy class for basic obedience training. He would be a wonderful, loyal companion to grow up in just about any family environment. Bugs is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, microchipped and his adoption fee is $325. A meet and greet can be arranged with an approved application. Bugs is located in our rescue in Hondo, Texas. You could probably teach him to get you a beer out of the fridge! He's under a year old and only weighs about 20 lbs. He is heartworm and Chagas negative. Bugs is a true terrier and is fast as lightning... loves to play hard and gets along with most everyone. He loves people and wants to please. He is very treat motivated which is making training easy with him. He would be a great addition to just about any family setting.
Every dog adopted through Tracy’s Paws receives: • Chagas, heartworm, and tick testing (when age-appropriate) • All core vaccines (age-appropriate) • Heartworm and flea/tick preventatives • Regular Deworming • Spay/neuter surgery • Microchip

Breed listings are our best guess, based on appearance.

Story
Introducing Auburn! Auburn is a beautiful Cattle Dog / Heeler mix who is approximately 3 years old and currently weighs 30 pounds. We rescued this gorgeous gal from the Hondo, TX shelter and although we don’t really know much bout he background, it is clear that people have not always been very kind to her. During her spay surgery, our vet discovered that she had been shot in the leg with a pellet gun. All of that is behind her now and we are excited to help this sweet girl find the loving home she deserves. Auburn is a gentle and curious. She needs someone who will go slow with her so that she can feel comfortable knowing that she will be treated kindly. Once she feels safe, she loves getting attention and affection. She gets along well with the other dogs in her playgroup and is happy and playful! With patience and lots of love we know Auburn will blossom and become a wonderful, loving companion to her new family. She is just waiting for that special person to understand her! She has a heart of gold and shows ZERO aggression of any kind. Sweet, submissive and needs one on one time and love, that we cannot give her here at the rescue. Auburn is located at our rescue in Hondo, Texas. She is spayed, up to date on all shots, microchipped and her adoption fee is $325. She is available for a meet and greet with an approved application. Auburn tested positive for Chagas disease and has started her treatment. This is completely curable after treatment and dogs can go on to live long and happy lives. Our rescue is one of the first to do Chagas testing for all of the dogs in our care and is having measurable success in the treatment protocol. We are also focused on continued education and awareness of Chagas to help even more dogs. Story
My name is Charlie and I am an adorable cute low rider who would love to find a home. I am very active and would love a home where I have a lot of room to run and go on adventures. I get along fine with other dogs and love to play and romp. I do have a little stranger danger when I am crated if new people come over but that goes away quickly when I know you're ok. I was found in the Rio Grande Valley wandering in the streets, starving with no place to go. I was treated for heartworms and tested negative for Chagas disease. If you’d like to make this sweet dog part of your family, please review our adoption process and complete an application here: https://www.tracyspawsrescue.org/adopt Learn more about our rescue here: https://www.facebook.com/TracysPawsRescue Every dog adopted through Tracy’s Paws receives: • Chagas, heartworm, and tick testing (when age-appropriate) • All core vaccines (age-appropriate) • Heartworm and flea/tick preventatives • Regular Deworming • Spay/neuter surgery • Microchip Breed and age listings are our best guess, based on appearance.
