Story
If your dream dog is whip-smart, diligent, loyal, athletic, playful, and affectionate, six year old Rey may just be the One! She is a brainy, brawny, and bubbly brindle beauty who loves to learn and works extra hard to please. Beautiful Rey is a six-year old female greyhound mix rescued from South Korea. She has a the cool- striped brindle coat, an alert expression, and plenty of energy. Friendly, outgoing and literally a “hugger”, Rey loves all humans, though she might love men even a little extra! This girl is surprisingly strong and could probably pull a 747 without breaking a sweat. The best home for Rey will be one which gives her space to exercise, ideally in her own yard, and lots of mental and physical activity. Like most extra smart canines regardless of species, Rey needs to be kept mentally stimulated to avoid slipping into mischief. Rey’s ideal family will keep her intellectually engaged with learning new things, going to interesting places, and sharing their life’s adventures with her. Flyball, agility, doggie sports or service work would be great ways to keep her mind challenged. While it isn’t a must for her to live with people who are home all the time, Rey would love if her people were around her a lot. Rey loves going on car rides -short or long- because she knows they take her to new places and reveal interesting things! One of Rey’s favorite things is to tear a stuffed toy apart from limb to limb; when she finally locates the squeaker she is in bliss. Because most humans don’t approve of toy destruction, Rey has had many toys taken away from her. As a result, when it comes to her toys she has learned not to trust most people, because so many people have “stolen” so many toys before she could destroy them properly! This is why Rey must go to a home without kids. Rey just doesn’t trust people with her valuables (like toys) until she really knows them first. Once she does trust you though she can be convinced to relax her toy vigilance with savvy handling. This girl’s trust can be earned with just lots of treats, play, and cuddles or belly rubs. GPI’s trainer will teach Rey’s new family methods for interacting with Rey and her toys in four free one-on-one training sessions, and offer priority paid sessions thereafter as needed. She must be the only dog in the household as she wants to protect “her” people and space, as well as food and toys, from other dogs. Apart from this, Rey is very tolerant of other dogs, even in close proximity. But she doesn’t seem at all interested in making dog friends. She absolutely can never live with cats or other small animals. Rey is good on a leash, non-reactive when passing other dogs, and will make a wonderful- albeit really strong -walking companion. Rey is spayed, vaccinated and micro-chipped. With a savvy handler, she is well behaved in most public places, though places like pet supply stores where she can easily snag a toy she considers valuable should be avoided. This is how the person who best knows Rey sums her up: “If you look up love and loyalty in the dictionary you will see Rey’s picture. All this girl wants is to work for the one she loves. Her love is easy to earn. Rey craves mental and physical enrichment, trust, and affection. A little play, show her you're a giver not a taker, and some belly rubs is all it would take for this extraordinary girl to give her whole self to you.” To meet Rey in Woodinville at Greyhound Pets Inc, contact Moira at fastpaws1998@gmail.com.

Story
Meet our cool, energetic and affectionate heeler-hound mix, Casey. Casey was originally transported to WA as a puppy with his siblings after being rescued from Georgia. Unfortunately, his adopters had twins and Casey was returned to RCR due to (after 7+ years in his home) no time for a dog. Casey acts way younger than his 8+years would imply and he is fun and quite active. Casey is a great size at only 35lbs, but he’s ready for a active family who like long daily walks and weekend hikes. Casey is currently being fostered by our trainer Nate Benjamin in Snohomish. Casey has truly blossomed while living at trainer Nate’s home. Casey knows his basic commands and is crate trained and house trained. When you first meet Casey, he will get very excited, but settles down after gets some energy out and gets to know you. His future adopter needs to be physically able to walk an active boy who’s personality is more like a dog half his age. Casey loves road trips, running errands and hanging out with his people. Casey has been good with kids over toddler age but does get nervous around infants, so a home with older kids or no kids, is best for him. Casey is crate-trained and house-trained and not a chewer. He can be trusted out of his crate and quiet in the house- though he will make his presence known if someone comes to the door. Casey is great on a leash and knows his basic commands. He loves people, loves to give kisses and is very approachable and loving! Casey enjoys roaming and sniffing throughout the day- therefore he’d love it if his forever home had a fenced yard. After a good long walk, Casey is content soaking up the sun on the deck too. He has not been around cats much so we’re not encouraging kitties. Casey listens and takes correction well. He will need you to continue and follow up with Nate’s training as he’s not had this kind of consistency in his previous life. Casey is food motivated, so training is a breeze. His adopters will get the advantage of trainer Nate Benjamin’s skills and he has totally set Casey up to succeed. Ideally his new adopter is someone who likes having a companion with them when they venture out of the house and who wants an exercise and life buddy. Casey is fine with other dogs but he is not much of a doggie play partner; but is also fine by himself. Casey is neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped. His is currently with his foster Nate Benjamin of Digg It Dog training in Snohomish and Nate would love to introduce you! Casey is such a good boy and he deserves a great home. For more information, contact Pam at raincityrescue@gmail.com or to complete an application. You just have to meet this awesome and energetic boy and trainer Nate! Both will win your heart.

Story
You just have to meet the most social and friendly beauty- Charlotte! Charlotte recently lost her home due to a divorce and she longs for a stable and loving truly forever home. Charlotte is a 12-year-old Lab mixed with BC? Pointer? We aren’t sure of her breed, but we are sure that she is a total love who is being needlessly overlooked due to her age, her black color or her lack of photographing well? She is so much cuter in person! Charlotte is a 50lb love bug who is so easy going and so very easy to have around. Charlotte loves hanging out with you and other dogs- either at home or on outings. Charlotte loves to go everywhere with you and loves everyone she meets. Charlotte is still very active for her age and enjoys a long daily walk but also enjoys her afternoon naps. Charlotte is super sweet and affectionate and loves kids. She enjoys playing dress up and being groomed. She is mellow and easy going and comfortable with new people. Charlotte knows all her basic commands and is leash trained. She would love a new home where someone worked from home or was around a lot to spend time with her, but she can also be left alone at home for hours at a time. Charlotte would also dig neighborhood walks, time at the local pubs or parks and just hanging out with her people. Charlotte is a sensitive soul who is very in tune with her people’s emotions. As a lab, Charlotte is a “leaner” and will want to get even closer to you if she senses sadness in you- it’s so very sweet! Charlotte is being fostered in the urban living of Ballard. She is quiet and super in her apartment and has no problem with stairs or elevator. If you have a yard, she’ll be happy as well- Charlotte is so adaptable and mellow. She settled in quite quickly to her foster home but is really ready for her forever home. Charlotte knows her basic commands and is completely house trained. Charlotte loves car rides and is great in the car. She loves the outdoors and is always up for a hike or a visit to the local coffee shop to meet her friends. Her foster mom doesn’t crate her and she can be trusted to be left alone in the house. Charlotte is spayed, micro-chipped and vaccinated. She had a recent dental and is terrific physical shape and much more active than her 12 years would imply! For questions or to set up a meet and greet, please email Pam at raincityrescue@gmail.com. We can’t wait for you to meet her! Charming and easy-going Charlotte will make a super lovable and fun companion for you and your family.
