Story
** Currently fostered in Houston Texas, but available for adoption out of state via rescue transportation, included in adoption fee. Offer Zoom call to virtually meet prior to adoption. Meet Barkley! This sweet baby wandered up on someone's property. He was wearing a harness on that had the brand name boots and barkley, so that's where the finder got his name. Barkley was chipped, but unfortunately it was not registered. It shows that he was adopted in January2023, and that he is estimated about 5 years of age. He currently weighs around 55 lbs and we believe him to be a border collie/cattle dog mix. He has energy and he loves to run and play, but can be a couch potato too. His favorite thing in the world is to play fetch with a ball! Barkley likes other dogs if they are female, but has not been a fan of males. We believe it's from a lack of social time with other dogs because he doesn't come off as just an aggressive pup, he just seems like he was kept in a yard and ignored a lot of the time prior to rescue and may not be familiar with most dogs. Barkley clearly knows his basic commands, such as sit, kennel, shake and settle. He is highly toy and food motivated and responds wonderfully to focused training. With continued training, we could even see him being an agility pup! Barkley is crate trained, housebroken and does well on leash. He is fully vetted, meaning he us neutered, up to date on all vaccines, microchipped and on monthly preventions for flea, tick and heartworm. For more information on how to adopt Barkley, contact us at MokasMission@Gmail.com for an application.

Story
*Currently fostered in Houston Texas, available for out of state adoptions via rescue transportation. Video meet and greet available prior to commitment* This dog is a collaborative effort between Moka's Mission and Houston Chow Chow Connection. Mocha is a fluffy mixed pup just eager to find her new lease in life. She was rescued from a kill shelter in Texas just moments before being euthanized. She is believed to be around 4 years old, and based on behaviors definitely has GSD, Chow Chow, and even possibly husky mixed in her as well. Current weight around 65, 70 lbs. Mocha is a smiling, eager to please, extremely intelligent pup who clearly has been desperate for reaching a potential that was never offered to her prior. She loves to play with toys now, ( was unfamiliar with on arrival) and can be quirky, and vocal during her playful bouts. A game of tug which result in some head pats is her favorite. She also is very smart, and when given attention and motivation is quick to learn. She already knows several basic commands including sit, shake, kennel, wait, settle, and leave it. She is extremely versatile and once she trusts you, will give you her best. If you want to go hiking or exercise, she is all about it. If you want a pup to relax in the home and enjoy a movie day, she is ready! She loves to curl up on the couch or at your feet when it's time to settle down, but when it's time to go she is the first one to be there and ready for you. She also loves to keep you company while you do the most menial house chore's such as laundry or dishes. Mocha clearly was kept away from other dogs and animals when she was owned previously, so we do think she'd be best as an only pup. Proper continued socialization training would be required in order for her to eventually be able to share space with other dogs, but she would need to be socialized as an only dog first before considering adding another in. She clearly has a desire to want to know other dogs and can walk by them and flirt while on leash just fine during walks. However, she hasn't had enough time and proper playmates to engage in playtime at present without being rough. Unfortunately, she is not ok with cats, which is to be expected of the breeds she possesses. Mocha is fully vetted meaning she is up to date on vaccinations, spayed, microchipped and on monthly prevention for flea, tick, and heartworm. Her adoption fee and transport is dependent on services used. Story
Nova is a 35lb adult (5yr-ish) French bulldog mix. She is incredibly sweet and affectionate and would love to find a forever home. She is still working on her housetraining (great with #1, still working on #2). She walks perfectly on a leash and adores snuggles and couch naps. She loves to show her excitement by wagging her whole body! She came into the rescue with a number of health issues - like most Frenchies - and needs an adopter who understands the financial committments of owning this wonderful, but expensive breed. She had a corneal ulcer (being treated with eye medication), a UTI (treated), unaltered (we fixed her), and with heartworms (she's on the slow kill treatment). Despite all of that, her spirit is amazing - full of love and happiness!! Nova is located in Houston TX and will only be transported upon completed adoption. Her adoption fee is $400. Inquiries will not be responded to unless a completed application has been sent. You can fill out an application at www.recycleddogsrescue.org. You must fill out all of the blanks in the application - put "n/a" if one question is not applicable to you.

Story
Sadie is currently at a rescue in Oklahoma. We are looking for a home in a state where people treat their animals well. She has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport near one of the cities listed at the bottom. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, she will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Sadie is 2 1/2 years old (December 1) and is possibly a Border Collie/Lab mix. -Come into the local shelter in Summer 2023 as a small puppy. Transferred to our rescue on June 7th -Just went through heartworm treatment and tested negative as of December 9th! -Used to be shy and timid....now she is well socialized and loves to get all of your attention and she's not afraid to ask for it! -Energetic breed who would love a nice yard to run in and a family to love on. -35-40 pounds. -Gets along with other dogs. Would do best in a home with another dog to play with. Does like to be the "alpha" with some females (never aggressive). Gets along great with males -She can walk on a leash, but it does need some work. -If home has kids, must be 10+ -Video of Sadie from December 1: https://youtube.com/shorts/idXhtmRwhwg Sadie is spayed, vaccinated (Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella), dewormed, microchipped, on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. She had a negative heartworm test on December 9th. Health certificate and exam will be performed less than 10 days prior to transport. Adoption fee is $700 total, this is including all vetting above and transport cost. Story
Sweet boy Porkchop is a gem, who loves to be with his humans, and very good with other dogs and does not mind cats either. He is very well behaved, mild mannered, obedient pup. He was rescued from a Houston shelter and he has been great at boarding kennels and foster homes. Apply to adopt him via savesomesouls.com He is very calm, gentle, and velcro pup. He loves his chew toys and treats. He is also an excellent treat catcher. You can throw a treat from any part of the room, Porkie tries not to miss it. His daycare manager says he is one of the smartest dogs he has met. He also does not care that the dogs bark at him, he just walks away. He loves to cuddle, and snuggle. He will be great as a companion for any family or single person. He is good with cats and dogs. He is a big boy, so we will prefer not to adopt him out to a family with little children. Porkchop is 4 yo and weighs 65 lb. He is fully vetted, and neutered. He is also chipped and heartworm negative. Porkchop is currently in Texas, and can travel to any state, and even Canada to the right home. To adopt our puppies, yards must be fully and adequately fenced. We do not accept invisible or electric fences. To meet this sweet pup via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application form via www.savesomesouls.com Porkchop's adoption fee of $400 includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, and Harness. Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them. If, after meeting a pup, the foster parent or the adoption applicant do not feel they are a good fit for each other, we often offer other pups who are better fit. Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued from our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible. So Thank You for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.
