****ADOPTION APPLICATION HERE*** Hi my name is Ash Hondo. I’m a 5 pound two month old Chihuahua puppy. I was left at a kill shelter in South Texas but I have found my way into a wonderful program and I’m now looking for my forever family. I’m a sweet and gentle, loving boy, who enjoys being around other puppies and people. To find out more information on this dog please apply to adopt on our website at www.caretx.org/adopt and CARE will be in touch with you ASAP! This dog was rescued from a kill shelter or the streets and has been evaluated for medical and temperament to prepare for a forever home and is in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas* and is ready to fly to its final destination once adopted. The adoption fee of $995 covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, the kennel it travels in, and air transport. Please email adoptions@caretx.org * CARE rescue is in San Antonio, TX where we have a serious pet overpopulation situation. CARE is a non profit 501c3 rescue that has been saving lives for 14 years and with your adoption, we can help save even more deserving urgent adoptable pets! Story
Cam is a 3 year old brindle Pitbull and 80lbs full of love, kisses, cuddles and affection. Current on vaccines, neutered, house broken and knows basic commands. He has spent the last 4 months in private and group training working on reactivity and mastering, sit, down, stay and focus without a leash. Cam may be the most social people loving dog you have ever met. He is so happy and excited to meet everyone he can be a little overwhelming to people or annoying to other dogs. Does not get along with unneutered dogs and has fear of motorcycles and bicycles. He needs to be in a home without children and the focus of attention on him. We currently need to rehome our sweet boy as he has become jealous of our daughter. We are looking for someone with experience with the Pitbull breed that can offer Cam the life he deserves.

Story
Hi my name is Rue. I'm 2 years old and have a lot of love to give a special person. I live with a dog and a kitty too. I would be happiest as a single pet and with older kids. Balls are my favorite toys. And snuggling on the couch make me feel happy. I am shy when I meet new people but, learning that new people, things and adventures are good. I learned to play and fetch a ball even to swim. I am walking well on leash but still need reminders not to pull. I do need daily runs and walks to make me happy too. I am staying with a foster family right now. Would love to find my forever family.

Not good with cats,
Story
Brooke is a huge sweetheart. She is one of the cuddliest and most affectionate dogs you will ever meet. She's always crawling into your lap, pushing her whole bodyweight into you for a hug, or crawling under the covers with you to snuggle all night long. She likes to play tug and roll around in the grass at the park. Brooke is a smart dog who picks up training quickly and is eager to please. She knows sit, down, wait, leave it, and boop (touch hand with nose). She is potty trained if walked on schedule. She is not spayed. She acts very excited to interact with other dogs and will pull hard towards them while on the leash, but she has never shown any signs of aggression when approached. She lived with dogs in her previous home. She has separation anxiety when left alone. I am normally home all the time so she will need to adjust to being left alone. She is crate trained but you will need a strong crate to avoid her breaking out of it when left alone.

Good with dogs,
Story
Brooke was found in a city park and taken in by a park worker. She was cared for about 2 months before we took her. We've had her for about 8 months, but due to mental health issues we can't care for her any longer. She's a young care-free dog that loves being social. The antithesis to myself. Cuddles, people, and play are her favorite things. I have been training her and she walks well on a leash, knows many commands, and even a trick or 2. She needs a care taker that'll help her feel comfortable a lone, that lucky individual will have a life long shadow that'll be ready to go on any adventure!

Story
Knows the commands, sit,lay down, spin, speak,Hakuna Matata (roll over), left, right (shake),bon appetit (release command to eat),wait, heal, come, inside (to go into his crate),find it where's your ball, drop it. I'm sure there more but those are the basics. The cons: He has separation anxiety. Not tear your house or furniture up but he'll bark for quite a while when you leave. He is crate trained though. And he's not very good in the car he'll bark the entire time, he doesn't run around in the car or anything like that he just barks and yips. I think it's because he's just too excited to ride. Other than that he's a great dog, very smart and eager to learn new things.
