**About Kalvin:**Thank you for your interest in adopting Kalvin! Please note that Kalvin is an international rescue from Taiwan. Upon approval of your application, you will need to pick him up from an airport, such as SFO, SEA, JFK, LAX, ONT, IAH, or YVR. Don't worry; international adoption isn't a complicated process, and we've been doing it successfully for many years. We'd be more than happy to explain how it works. Kalvin's Rescue Story: Kalvin was only one month old when he was found abandoned in a shelter. He was all alone in his cage without his mother or other dogs to keep him company. His skin was plagued by disease, and he was completely bald. The rescuer couldn't bear to see him suffer, so they rescued Kalvin and made it their priority to treat his skin condition and find him a loving forever home.  His coat is back to normal and he is given a clean bill of health by his veterinarian.  About Kalvin: Despite his initial rough appearance, Kalvin has a gentle and kind personality. He never bites people or other dogs and takes time to explore new environments and strangers. Having another dog by his side helps him feel bold and courageous. Treats are helpful in getting him to warm up to strangers more quickly, and he enjoys having his back vigorously massaged by those he trusts. Kalvin is cautious around those he doesn't know well, indicating he may have experienced abuse in the past. However, once he is comfortable with someone, he shows enthusiasm and affection. He is passionate and gentle by nature and loves playing with other dogs. Kalvin truly deserves a forever home where he can be cherished and cared for. If you're interested in learning more about Kalvin, please don't hesitate to contact us for more information or simply fill out the adoption form on our website. Please note that Kalvin is still in Taiwan, so prospective adopters will need to go through our international adoption process. Kalvin is ready to find his forever home and become a loving addition to a caring family. Apply here https://lifeofhopefoundation.org/adoption-application/

**About Aglio:** Thank you for interested in adopting Aglio. Please know that Aglio is an international rescue through South Korea. When your application is approved, you will need to pick him up from the airport - such as SFO, SEA, JFK, LAX, IAH, etc. International adoption is not a complicated process and we‘ve done the process many years. We would be happy to explain to you how the process works. - Personality: He is very energetic and easygoing. He is not sensitive or nervous. He may be a little shy when meeting new people at first, but he warms up quickly. He wants to greet other dogs and has a bright, friendly personality that allows him to get along well with anyone at dog parks. - with kid: He may be a little shy at first, but with time he gets along well with people, including children. - with cats: When he sees cats during walks, he tilts his head and looks at them. Because he is still young, he does not show much reaction toward cats. - car rides: He rides in the car very well. Since he has been riding since he was young, he has no problems at all. - potty training: He goes poop outdoors. He pees both indoors and outdoors, and when indoors, he uses pee pads only. His pee pad success rate is 100%. - left alone: He whines very briefly at first but then stays calm. - guarding behavior: No. With just a simple “wait” command, he can patiently wait his turn next to another dog. He is very smart. - Leash & walking experience: He is currently being walked on a leash and does very well with it. There are no issues.

Story
Meet Peace: A Gentle Soul Seeking Her Forever Home Thank you for your interest in adopting Peace! Peace is an international rescue who resides in Taiwan. While "international adoption" might sound like a major undertaking, we have years of experience streamlining this process to make it as smooth as possible. We’ll be right by your side to explain every step! The Journey Home Once your application is approved, the final step of Peace’s journey begins. Adopters are responsible for picking her up directly from a major international airport. Common arrival hubs include: West Coast: SFO, SEA, LAX, YVR East Coast & Central: JFK, IAH About Peace True to her name, Peace is the embodiment of tranquility and sweetness. She is a Formosan Mountain Dog (FMD) mix, a breed known for loyalty and intelligence. While FMDs are typically medium-to-large, Peace is a rare and "perfect" exception—she sits on the smaller side, making her an ideal fit for various living situations. While her exact DNA remains a mystery, we are 100% certain of two things: she is the perfect size and possesses an even more perfect temperament. If you are looking for a calm, loving companion to bring a little more harmony into your life, Peace is waiting for you. Her Story: From Despair to Hope Peace’s early life was defined by hardship. While we don’t know if she ever truly had a home, it is clear she survived on the streets for a long time. Her journey toward a better life began on a day that looked like it might be her last: she was found collapsed near a gas station, motionless, with breathing so shallow it was barely noticeable. A kind passerby posted her location on social media, hoping for a miracle. A local rescuer rushed to the scene and discovered that Peace had been the victim of a hit-and-run. Though someone had moved her away from traffic, she had been lying there for hours, paralyzed by pain. At the veterinary hospital, Peace was diagnosed with a fractured front leg. She underwent major surgery and spent five days in intensive care. It was during this recovery that her true spirit shined through. Despite the pain of daily bandage changes and post-op care, Peace never once resisted. She simply lay there patiently, wagging her tail at every person she saw—already eager to give the love she had never received. Life in Foster Care Since moving into her foster home, Peace has proven to be an absolute dream. She is a social butterfly who gets along famously with other dogs and cats. She is respectful and friendly toward men, women, and children alike. Additionally, she is 100% outdoor potty trained and has never had a single accident indoors. Health & Care Notes The "Lucky" Leg: Peace has a surgical pin in her left front leg. The vet has confirmed that this does not need to be removed and will not affect her quality of life. She runs, jumps, and plays just like any other happy, healthy dog! Dietary Needs: Due to her time scavenging on the streets, Peace has a sensitive stomach. While she is generally healthy, she may experience minor digestive upset (soft stools) during her transition to a new climate or during drastic weather changes. A consistent, high-quality diet will help her stay at her best. The "100-Point" Girl Peace survived a hit-and-run, a painful fracture, and hours of waiting alone for a rescue that almost didn't come. Now that she is healthy and vibrant, we are looking for a forever home that will cherish her. Peace is truly what we call a "100-point girl"—she is resilient, loving, and ready to light up the world of one very lucky family.

**About Koda:** Thank you for interested in adopting Koda. Please know that Koda is an international rescue through South Korea. When your application is approved, you will need to pick him up from the airport - such as SFO, SEA, JFK, LAX, IAH, etc. International adoption is not a complicated process and we‘ve done the process many years. We would be happy to explain to you how the process works. Personality: Koda is cheerful and energetic. He can be a bit competitive with dogs at a similar energy level but is gentle with older dogs. While he has built a strong bond with his foster, he can be wary of strangers. He should not be let off-leash as he avoids capture or close contact without it. He is generally cautious in new situations but shows resilience and adapts well over time. Koda does well with both children and adults. He may be nervous at first, but after 4–5 days he warms up and becomes affectionate. He has a tendency to chase stray cats, so living with cats may not be suitable. Car Rides: Travels well in the car without issues. Housebreaking: Prefers outdoor potty. Alone Time: May whine a little and bark at outside noises, but settles down. Leash & Walks: Currently in leash training. He may try to run after birds or small animals, so caution is needed. Coming from a street life, he is wary of cars and waits for them to pass even from a distance. - Koda is shy at first, but adapts quickly and shows strong affection once trust is built. - Shows some “one-person dog” tendencies, bonding closely with the foster. - Naturally energetic and active due to his young age, but he has good self-control. Koda is ready to find his forever loving home. If you’re interested in him, please feel free to reach out to us anytime!

**About Bubu:** Thank you for interested in adopting Bubu. Please know that Bubu is an international rescue through Taiwan. When your application is approved, you will need to pick her up from the airport - such as SFO, SEA, JFK, LAX, IAH, YVR, etc. International adoption is not a complicated process and we‘ve done the process many years. We would be happy to explain to you how the process works. Meet Bubu: A Gentle Soul Looking for Her Forever Best Friend Bubu once had a home, but she was sadly abandoned simply because she grew "too big." Despite this heartbreak, Bubu remains a vibrant, confident, and well-mannered girl who holds no grudges—only love! Why you’ll fall in love with Bubu: Social Superstar: She gets along wonderfully with other dogs of all sizes, cats, and children. Household Manners: She is house-trained and prefers going outside, but she’s also smart enough to use pee pads indoors if needed. The Perfect Walking Partner: She walks beautifully on a leash, though she does get a little "puppy-excited" when she sees a bird or squirrel to chase! Quiet & Friendly: She rarely barks and currently lives peacefully in a foster home with six dogs and two cats. A few quirks: Bubu is a "free spirit" who doesn't like being confined by playpens or fences—she’s quite the jumper! Because of this, we focus on crate training instead. Occasionally, if left alone, she might find a pen or a small box on the table to chew on, so she’d love a home that provides plenty of toys. Bubu is ready to find a family that will cherish her for the rest of her life. If you have room in your heart and home for this amazing girl, please contact us today!
