**About Kalvin:**Thank you for your interest in adopting Kalvin! Please note that Kalvin is an international rescue from Taiwan. Upon approval of your application, you will need to pick him up from an airport, such as SFO, SEA, JFK, LAX, ONT, IAH, or YVR. Don't worry; international adoption isn't a complicated process, and we've been doing it successfully for many years. We'd be more than happy to explain how it works. Kalvin's Rescue Story: Kalvin was only one month old when he was found abandoned in a shelter. He was all alone in his cage without his mother or other dogs to keep him company. His skin was plagued by disease, and he was completely bald. The rescuer couldn't bear to see him suffer, so they rescued Kalvin and made it their priority to treat his skin condition and find him a loving forever home.  His coat is back to normal and he is given a clean bill of health by his veterinarian.  About Kalvin: Despite his initial rough appearance, Kalvin has a gentle and kind personality. He never bites people or other dogs and takes time to explore new environments and strangers. Having another dog by his side helps him feel bold and courageous. Treats are helpful in getting him to warm up to strangers more quickly, and he enjoys having his back vigorously massaged by those he trusts. Kalvin is cautious around those he doesn't know well, indicating he may have experienced abuse in the past. However, once he is comfortable with someone, he shows enthusiasm and affection. He is passionate and gentle by nature and loves playing with other dogs. Kalvin truly deserves a forever home where he can be cherished and cared for. If you're interested in learning more about Kalvin, please don't hesitate to contact us for more information or simply fill out the adoption form on our website. Please note that Kalvin is still in Taiwan, so prospective adopters will need to go through our international adoption process. Kalvin is ready to find his forever home and become a loving addition to a caring family. Apply here https://lifeofhopefoundation.org/adoption-application/

Story
story: Thank you for interested in adopting Buddy. Please know that Buddy is an international rescue. When your application is approved, you will need to pick him up from the airport - such as SFO, SEA, JFK, LAX, ONT, IAH, etc. International adoption is not a complicated process and we've done the process many years. We would be happy to explain to you how the process works. Buddy is not high in energy level and likes to take a slow walk, taking time to observe and sniff other things. When he was a puppy, he was small and weak and was bullied by his siblings. He gets nervous towards other dogs. He is not comfortable when the other dog tries to dominate and when the other dog has a young puppy energy so much that it can annoy others. However, once he becomes friendly with other dog, he gets along very well. He stayed in the shelter for a long time so he lacks socialization but he is gentle and careful once he decides to be a friend with the people and the dogs. Now, he is under socialization training. He has not met children yet but is generally calm and good with people. The foster believes buddy is calm and friendly with anyone and so can be with children. Buddy is nervous but stays calm in the crate. He behaves well when he is alone in home. He is under leash training. If he gets scared he just stops and refuses to move. When he gets scared during walks, he leans on the people next to him and depends on the person for protection. With something he has not eaten before, he doesn’t eat it right away. He rubs it on his body first. After he tries it one or two times, he doesn’t do it anymore. Lacking various experiences, he gets scared easily but is also good at overcoming them. If you’re interested in adopting Buddy, feel free to contact us for more info! Thank you.

**About Koda:** Thank you for interested in adopting Koda. Please know that Koda is an international rescue through South Korea. When your application is approved, you will need to pick him up from the airport - such as SFO, SEA, JFK, LAX, IAH, etc. International adoption is not a complicated process and we‘ve done the process many years. We would be happy to explain to you how the process works. Personality: Koda is cheerful and energetic. He can be a bit competitive with dogs at a similar energy level but is gentle with older dogs. While he has built a strong bond with his foster, he can be wary of strangers. He should not be let off-leash as he avoids capture or close contact without it. He is generally cautious in new situations but shows resilience and adapts well over time. Koda does well with both children and adults. He may be nervous at first, but after 4–5 days he warms up and becomes affectionate. He has a tendency to chase stray cats, so living with cats may not be suitable. Car Rides: Travels well in the car without issues. Housebreaking: Prefers outdoor potty. Alone Time: May whine a little and bark at outside noises, but settles down. Leash & Walks: Currently in leash training. He may try to run after birds or small animals, so caution is needed. Coming from a street life, he is wary of cars and waits for them to pass even from a distance. - Koda is shy at first, but adapts quickly and shows strong affection once trust is built. - Shows some “one-person dog” tendencies, bonding closely with the foster. - Naturally energetic and active due to his young age, but he has good self-control. Koda is ready to find his forever loving home. If you’re interested in him, please feel free to reach out to us anytime!

**About Zoe:** Thank you for interested in adopting Zoe. Please know that Zoe is an international rescue through Taiwan. When your application is approved, you will need to pick her up from the airport - such as SFO, SEA, JFK, LAX, IAH, etc. International adoption is not a complicated process and we‘ve done the process many years. We would be happy to explain to you how the process works. Personality Zoe is a very friendly, playful, energetic, and affectionate girl. Whether she is at a dog park or an adoption event, she always behaves with great confidence. She loves being touched by people. Strangers, male or female, can pet her without any issue. She even rolls over and sweetly lets strangers rub her belly. 🔷 Food Guarding Behavior With people, Zoe shows no signs of food guarding at all; you can even take food directly from her mouth. With other dogs, as long as each dog has its own bowl and maintains a proper distance while eating kibble, Zoe does not display any food guarding behavior. However, when it comes to high-value treats, if another dog nearby is more eager or moves quickly toward the treat, Zoe may turn her head, show her teeth, or bark as a warning. This behavior should be carefully monitored. 🔷 Home She enjoys sitting on the sofa and can sleep on a mat or elevated bed. At her foster home, she sleeps in a crate for both naps and at night (this is for easier management due to the number of dogs). When she stayed with her rescuer, she slept on a floor mat in the bedroom since dogs weren’t allowed on the bed. However, she sometimes jumped onto the bed in the morning; if told to get down, she would obediently return to her mat. She rarely barks at home, only when someone enters the immediate front area of the house. Once the person leaves, she stops barking. 🔷 Transportation She is comfortable riding in the car and does not get carsick. 🔷 Bathing She behaves very well during baths and is cooperative when having her anal glands expressed. She is also fine with having her fur blow-dried using either a pet dryer or a standard hair dryer. 🔷 Walking on Leash She walks steadily on a leash. However, if she sees cats, squirrels, mice, birds, or cockroaches, she may get excited and try to rush forward, but she is easily managed. When preparing for a walk, she gets very excited indoors and may jump or pounce on people. Asking her to sit (and being firm about it) before opening the door is recommended. Sometimes, if she urgently needs to pee or poop, she may pull briefly during the walk, but she returns to her normal pace afterward. Occasionally, when she doesn't want to go home yet, she will stand still and refuse to move. Just stay firm, and she will eventually follow. 🔷 With Other Dogs She generally gets along well with other dogs. She is playful but can be a bit rough, which not all dogs appreciate. When going for walks or visiting dog parks, observe how other dogs respond to her enthusiasm. 🔷 With People She is very affectionate and loves both men and women. However, she once got scared by a small child, so she is not very comfortable around preschool-aged children. Currently, if a child runs toward her quickly, she becomes nervous and barks. At dog parks, if small children are present, it is best to put her on a leash first to observe her reaction. ❌❌ Dislikes She dislikes the sound of high heels—especially heeled slippers hitting the floor. This noise scares her and can cause her to bark. ❤️❤️ Likes She loves toys, especially plushies and balls. She doesn’t usually destroy plush toys, but for other types of chew toys, ensure they are durable and appropriate for her strength. 🔷 Affectionate Behavior She is extremely affectionate. Sometimes, when her rescuer naps on the living room sofa, Zoe will come over and ask for cuddles. If the petting stops, she will use her paw to ask for more. This is generally fine, but when her nails are long, her pawing can accidentally scratch you. You can correct this behavior by speaking firmly—she understands and will lie down quietly. 🔷 Potty Training At her foster home, she uses pee pads or artificial grass for potty breaks. When outside, she can also relieve herself quickly during walks. 🔷 Interaction with Cats She gets excited and tends to chase cats, so she is not recommended for adoption by a family that currently owns cats.

**About Bean:** Thank you for interested in adopting Puff. Please know that Puff is an international rescue through Taiwan. When your application is approved, you will need to pick her up from the airport - such as SFO, SEA, JFK, LAX, ONT, IAH, YVR etc. International adoption is not a complicated process and we‘ve done the process many years. We would be happy to explain to you how the process works. Sesame, Bean, and Puff, the 3 adorable sisters, were found stuffed in a non-breathable soil bag and left on the side of the road. Their rescuer discovered them after hearing puppy sounds coming from the bag. The bag was tied up, preventing the puppies from escaping, and if they hadn’t been found, they would have suffocated. The rescuer quickly brought them to a veterinarian to ensure their physical and mental health were good. After a thorough medical examination, the rescuer took them home for care after receiving a clean bill of health. Sesame, Bean, and Puff are incredibly sweet and friendly, always showing confidence in their interactions with both people and other dogs. They are not intimidated by larger dogs either. The 3 sisters are smart and fast learners, having already mastered the joy of leash walking. They behave well during car rides, showing no signs of motion sickness. They have no known food allergies and do not display food aggression when interacting with other dogs. After three months of care, completing all necessary medical examinations, and confirming that they are currently free from any health issues, it’s finally time to find them a permanent, loving home. If you’re interested in adopting Sesame, Bean, or Puff, please don’t hesitate to contact us for more details. We’d be more than happy to help! Bean is still in Taiwan. If you are interested in adopting Bean, please go through our international adoption process. Bean is ready for her forever sweet home.
