Morita sleeps in her foster home, in a dog bed placed on the floor in a designated area. Morita – Sweet, Calm, and Ready for Her Forever Home Morita is a gentle and loving girl who has blossomed beautifully thanks to the dedicated care she received at the Dog Sanctuary Casa de Lugo in Colima, Mexico. With patience, love, and the support of a professional trainer, Morita has transformed into an incredibly smart, happy, calm, and affectionate dog. She has a wonderful temperament and truly enjoys being around people. Morita loves human companionship and will happily spend time by your side, soaking up affection and sharing quiet moments together. Morita is also very social. She enjoys playing with other dogs and has even shown that she can get along well with cats, making her a great fit for a multi-pet household. After all the care and dedication that helped her blossom, Morita is now ready for the next chapter of her life — a forever home where she will be loved, cherished, and part of a family. In return, she will bring sweetness, loyalty, and calm companionship to the lucky people who welcome her into their hearts. Morita’s Ideal Home Morita would thrive in a loving and calm home where she can continue enjoying the stability and care that helped her blossom. She would do well with a person or family who appreciates a gentle, affectionate companion and enjoys spending quality time with their dog. Because Morita is very social, she could happily live with other friendly dogs and has also shown she can get along with cats. She enjoys companionship, playtime, and being around her people, so a home where she is included as part of the family would be perfect for her. Morita’s calm and sweet nature makes her a wonderful match for a home that offers patience, love, and a peaceful environment, while still giving her opportunities to play, interact, and continue building her confidence. In return, Morita will bring loyalty, sweetness, and gentle companionship to the lucky family who gives her the forever home she deserves. Morita’s Rescue Story Morita was rescued along with her little sister near Cerro del Tesoro in Mexico. They were only about two months old when they were found abandoned during a heavy rainstorm. The tiny sisters were completely defenseless and so terrified that they wouldn’t even move. The rescuer’s dog led her to the puppies while they were out on a walk. They were soaking wet, frightened, and alone. It was unclear iif they had fallen into the small pit where they were found or if someone had left them there, but it was clear they would not survive in that place, especially with the rain pouring down. There was a real risk they could drown or die from exposure, so the king person who found them, brought them to safety.  Because of the trauma they had likely experienced—and possibly the mistreatment their mother may have suffered—Morita grew up very fearful and unable to trust people. It took a long time, patience, and dedication to help her heal physically, mentally, and emotionally. Thanks to the incredible support of the Casa de Lugo Sanctuary in Colima City, the guidance of a professional trainer, and the teamwork and commitment of the rescuers at Misiones Caninas, Morita slowly began to blossom. With love, consistency, and care, she transformed into the smart, calm, sweet, and happy girl she is today. Morita’s journey is a beautiful example of how compassion and teamwork can truly change a life. Now she is ready for the final chapter of her story: finding the loving forever home she has waited so patiently for. Morita  is waiting in Mexico until a family is committed to taking her on a 10-day trial. If you are interested, apply at www.northwestwagrescue.org her adoption fee is $600 ##2701751##

Story
Name: GabbitoSex: MaleAge: 2.5 years oldBreed: Pug/Chihuahua MixSize: SmallColor: BrownWeight: 12.5 lbs Medical:Neutered: Yes | Vaccinated: Yes | Dewormed: Yes | 4DX: Negative Personality:Gabbito is a gentle, sweet boy who may be shy at first, but warms up with a little patience—especially with women, who he tends to trust more quickly. He does great with other small dogs and loves having companionship. He enjoys running, eating (of course!), and being close to his people. He is potty trained and currently working on building confidence while walking on a leash, as loud noises can make him nervous. About:Gabbito’s past is a tough one. He was found with a person experiencing homelessness and was removed from that situation due to suspected abuse. During his veterinary exam, he was found to have small scars and what appeared to be old cigarette burns, which likely explains his fear—particularly of men. Despite everything he has been through, Gabbito has never shown any aggression. He is incredibly resilient and simply needs a loving, patient home where he can feel safe and continue to build trust. Gabbito is currently waiting in Mexico for a committed family to say “yes” to him. With that commitment, he will travel north to begin a 10-day trial in your home to ensure it’s the perfect fit for everyone. His adoption fee is $600. This little guy has been through so much—now he’s ready for a fresh start with a family who will show him the love he’s always deserved. ##2696114##

Like most puppies, he's full of energy and curiosity. He’s agile, smart, and absolutely loves toys—especially balls and ropes. His favorite activities include playing with his siblings and enjoying a good meal. Twigg gets along well with both older and younger dogs and is friendly with children. His behavior around cats is currently unknown. About Twigg Twigg’s journey to safety began in Salto, Jalisco, when we received a call about a litter of abandoned puppies. He and his four siblings were found inside a plastic bag, and we rushed to bring them to safety. Story
Meet Alfredo Age: 2.5 years (March birthday) Gender: Male Breed: Mixed – 30% Labrador, 30% Great Pyrenees, 18% Pitbull, and other mixes (DNA results available) Why He’s Looking for a New Home Alfredo was adopted through NW Wag Rescue as a tiny puppy after being found in the desert of New Mexico with his mom and seven siblings. His current family has given him a wonderful start and invested time, training, and love into him. However, due to his size, strength, and reactivity around other dogs and strangers, they feel he would be happier and safer in a different environment. With two young children at home and a busy neighborhood, it has become clear that Alfredo would thrive in a calmer, more suitable home. His family loves him deeply, and this rehoming decision is based on what’s best for him long-term. Personality & Temperament Alfredo is a loyal, affectionate dog who adores his people. He’s equally happy adventuring outdoors on runs and hikes or spending the day lounging and snuggling on the couch. He’s very attached to his family, following them from room to room, and he thrives on closeness and attention. He is protective of his home and family, barking at noises or new visitors. With unfamiliar people, he can be nervous at first—barking and growling—but with patience and calm introductions, he warms up and turns into a total sweetheart, often rolling over for belly rubs once he feels safe. Alfredo is sensitive to loud noises (especially fireworks) and prefers peaceful environments over crowded, noisy places. He enjoys running and zooming in the yard but isn’t interested in fetch or most toys. He does, however, like chew toys, treats, and people food in moderation. Behavior with People & Animals Kids: Alfredo has been excellent with the two young children in his family. However, due to his reactivity and size, it is recommended that he live in a home without young children for safety and comfort. Dogs: His behavior depends on the setting. At daycare, he does wonderfully, playing with groups of 30–50 dogs and even boarding without issue. At home or on walks, though, he can be reactive—barking, growling, or lunging at other dogs. He once got out and scuffled with a passing dog but was quickly called back and no injuries occurred. Cats: He hasn’t lived with cats. On walks, he tends to bark and pull toward them. Training & Habits Leash trained: Yes, though reactive toward other dogs at times. House trained: Very reliable and signals when he needs to go out. Crate trained: Yes. Sleeps in his crate most nights and stays crated if left home longer than an hour. Sleeping arrangements: Usually in his crate, occasionally in bed with his family. Health Alfredo takes 40 mg of Fluoxetine daily to help manage anxiety. Healthy overall with a strong stomach. Ideal Home Alfredo will do best as the only pet in a calm home with a securely fenced yard. His ideal adopter will be someone (or a couple) who has time to dedicate to his exercise, training, and, most importantly, affection. Because of his protective and anxious nature, a quieter area outside of dense city life is recommended. In return, Alfredo will give endless love, loyalty, and companionship—along with the bonus of being a natural guard dog. Strengths Loving, affectionate, and submissive with his family Athletic and well-trained Loyal and protective Low-maintenance lifestyle (happy to lounge or adventure) Areas for Growth Managing anxiety and nervousness Reactivity toward other dogs while on leash Please fill out an adoption application to get in touch with his current family and to learn more about him and schedule a meet and greet. Rehoming fee $200 ##2532613##
