Story
Meet Dandy! This sweet low-rider beauty was rescued from a California shelter and is making her way to the PNW on December 11th! Dandy is about 4 years old and around 40 lbs, with a friendly, gentle nature that wins people over fast. She gets along well with other dogs and absolutely loves affection from her humans. She hasn’t been cat-tested yet, so feline compatibility is unknown. We’re currently searching for a foster home or trial home for Dandy when she arrives. If you’ve been wanting to open your home to a dog who’s grateful, loving, and ready for her second chance, Dandy might be your girl. Ready to help this sweetheart land softly in the PNW? Adoption $500 Spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and microchipped   ##2595355##

Story
Meet Case!Case is a 13-month-old, petite pittie/boxer mix weighing in at just 38 lbs — the perfect pocket-sized companion with a giant heart. Saved from the euthanasia list in Modesto, CA, Case was tagged for rescue the night before his scheduled euthanasia. He patiently waited for his freedom ride and made his way up to Washington, where he is now settling into a local home while he waits for his forever family. Case is gentle, mild, and absolutely dog-obsessed. He LOVES to play with other pups and will thrive with a canine friend who matches his playful, sweet energy. He’s not a fit for a home with cats — this goofy boy thinks the “chase game” is way too fun. He also adores his ball and will happily carry it around like it’s his prized treasure. He’s fully vetted and ready to go: potty trained, neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and heartworm negative. Case truly deserves a chance at the love and life he almost didn’t get. If you’re looking for a gentle, fun-loving companion with a heart of gold, Case is your boy. Adoption fee $500 www.northwestwagrescue.org ##2574302##

Currently, she lives in an open daycare facility where she socializes and plays with other dogs during the day. She is occasionally moved to a kennel for rest. As a young dog, Nala enjoys being with people and may resist being alone at first. It’s best not to leave her alone for more than 4–6 hours, especially in a new home. Ensure she has a safe space, comfort items, and toys to keep her entertained. Sleeping Arrangements:Previously slept indoors at her foster’s home. Currently sleeps in a shared area with two other dogs. Temperament Nala is a vibrant, joyful, and spunky young dog who seems to have left any hardship behind her. She’s trusting, adaptable, and always eager to find joy in the moment. Despite her young age, she’s intelligent, balanced, and a quick learner. Raised with plenty of love and attention, Nala is growing into a confident companion who knows she’s the star of the show. Ongoing socialization with both people and dogs will help her maintain her happy, well-adjusted nature and prevent negative behaviors from developing. Ideal Home Nala will thrive in a loving, structured home where she can be part of the family’s daily life. She would do well with: A single person seeking a loyal, affectionate companion A family with kids A home with another friendly dog She’s looking for more than just a place to live—she wants to be part of her person’s or family’s journey, sharing in cuddles, adventures, and companionship. Rescue Story In March 2025, Nala was found as a 5-month-old puppy by a rescuer who likely saved her from harm. Locals had seen a small pack of puppies in a nearby park, but one by one, they disappeared. Nala was the last remaining pup and was taken to safety. From there, she began her journey toward adoption—receiving care, socialization, and training—so she could one day find her forever home in the United States. Location: Mexico (waiting for a 10-day trial commitment)Adoption Fee: $600Apply at: www.northwestwagrescue.org ##2489872##

Story
Meet Nugget Age: 1 year (born Jan 2024) Gender: Male Weight: 7.2 kg / 15 lbs (small size) Breed: Wire-haired mixed breed Color: Gold Health Neutered Vaccinated Heartworm negative Personality & Behavior Nugget is a spunky, vibrant little guy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He’s intelligent, affectionate, and loves being close to his people. Nugget happily greets new faces and enjoys being part of daily life—whether that’s household chores, errands, or relaxing together. Good with dogs: Yes  Resource guarding: No  Barking: Alert barker; may bark when left alone  Kids: Yes, older children preferred  Cats: No (strong small-prey drive)  Shedding: Minimal (regular brushing recommended)  Energy level: Medium  Nugget is a fully indoor dog and naturally alert, as many small breeds are, but he truly thrives on companionship and bonding with his person. Training & Habits ‍ Leash trained: Yes  Car rides: Yes  Potty trained: Adjusts well to new home routines (currently living in a foster home)  Crate trained: Yes, for travel only (not airline carry-on size)  As with any dog, maintaining a consistent daily routine will help ensure continued potty-training success. Home Life When alone: Nugget does not enjoy being left alone and can become anxious and vocal. He will do best with someone who is home most of the time or in a home with another friendly dog for companionship.  Sleeping: Sleeps indoors on a dog bed and prefers being close to people. Ideal Home Nugget is more than just a pet—he’s a devoted companion ready to fill your home with love, joy, and warmth. Because he values companionship so deeply, his ideal home is one where he isn’t left alone for long periods. A homebody adopter, remote worker, or family with another friendly dog would be a wonderful match. Adopting Nugget means gaining a loyal best friend who will love you unconditionally every single day. Rescue Story Nugget’s rescue story is one of patience, kindness, and perfect timing. He was first spotted near a health clinic, following a man and a young girl who believed he belonged to someone else. When it became clear he was alone, Nugget disappeared into the crowd. Days later, his rescuer spotted him again in the same area. This time, she approached slowly, offering food and patience. Trust was built, and that moment marked the beginning of Nugget’s journey to safety. Over the past month, he has learned what love, consistency, and care feel like—and now he’s ready for a forever home of his own. Story
Meet Alfredo Age: 2.5 years (March birthday) Gender: Male Breed: Mixed – 30% Labrador, 30% Great Pyrenees, 18% Pitbull, and other mixes (DNA results available) Why He’s Looking for a New Home Alfredo was adopted through NW Wag Rescue as a tiny puppy after being found in the desert of New Mexico with his mom and seven siblings. His current family has given him a wonderful start and invested time, training, and love into him. However, due to his size, strength, and reactivity around other dogs and strangers, they feel he would be happier and safer in a different environment. With two young children at home and a busy neighborhood, it has become clear that Alfredo would thrive in a calmer, more suitable home. His family loves him deeply, and this rehoming decision is based on what’s best for him long-term. Personality & Temperament Alfredo is a loyal, affectionate dog who adores his people. He’s equally happy adventuring outdoors on runs and hikes or spending the day lounging and snuggling on the couch. He’s very attached to his family, following them from room to room, and he thrives on closeness and attention. He is protective of his home and family, barking at noises or new visitors. With unfamiliar people, he can be nervous at first—barking and growling—but with patience and calm introductions, he warms up and turns into a total sweetheart, often rolling over for belly rubs once he feels safe. Alfredo is sensitive to loud noises (especially fireworks) and prefers peaceful environments over crowded, noisy places. He enjoys running and zooming in the yard but isn’t interested in fetch or most toys. He does, however, like chew toys, treats, and people food in moderation. Behavior with People & Animals Kids: Alfredo has been excellent with the two young children in his family. However, due to his reactivity and size, it is recommended that he live in a home without young children for safety and comfort. Dogs: His behavior depends on the setting. At daycare, he does wonderfully, playing with groups of 30–50 dogs and even boarding without issue. At home or on walks, though, he can be reactive—barking, growling, or lunging at other dogs. He once got out and scuffled with a passing dog but was quickly called back and no injuries occurred. Cats: He hasn’t lived with cats. On walks, he tends to bark and pull toward them. Training & Habits Leash trained: Yes, though reactive toward other dogs at times. House trained: Very reliable and signals when he needs to go out. Crate trained: Yes. Sleeps in his crate most nights and stays crated if left home longer than an hour. Sleeping arrangements: Usually in his crate, occasionally in bed with his family. Health Alfredo takes 40 mg of Fluoxetine daily to help manage anxiety. Healthy overall with a strong stomach. Ideal Home Alfredo will do best as the only pet in a calm home with a securely fenced yard. His ideal adopter will be someone (or a couple) who has time to dedicate to his exercise, training, and, most importantly, affection. Because of his protective and anxious nature, a quieter area outside of dense city life is recommended. In return, Alfredo will give endless love, loyalty, and companionship—along with the bonus of being a natural guard dog. Strengths Loving, affectionate, and submissive with his family Athletic and well-trained Loyal and protective Low-maintenance lifestyle (happy to lounge or adventure) Areas for Growth Managing anxiety and nervousness Reactivity toward other dogs while on leash Please fill out an adoption application to get in touch with his current family and to learn more about him and schedule a meet and greet. Rehoming fee $200 ##2532613##

Story
Looking for a temp foster: Dec 11-21 Meet Jason (formerly Soli — affectionately known as Mr. Wigglebutt ) This stunning brindle Cane Corso mix escaped the euthanasia list in Modesto and hasn’t looked back. Now settling into Washington life, Jason is ready to find his forever family! Jason LOVES people (especially the ones with snacks ) and will greet you with his signature adorable wiggle from his cropped tail. He’s social with other dogs and is respectful when they give him cues. At about 85–90 lbs and still filling out, he’s a true XL lovebug with the energy to match! He sleeps quietly in his kennel, is progressing nicely with house and leash training, and is always down for an adventure — especially car rides. Ideal Home:Jason would thrive with an active family committed to continuing training and structure. He does well with other dogs, but no cats for this big guy. Jason is also great with kids — he genuinely enjoys being around them — but due to his size and occasional “oops-I-forgot-I’m-a-moose” energy, we recommend kids who are dog-savvy and aware of big-dog boundaries. Details: Male Cane Corso mix — approx. 1.5 years old ~95 lbs  Dog-friendly No cats Healthy & up to date on vaccines Microchipped Neutered If you’re looking for a giant sweetheart with goofy charm and endless love to give, Jason might just be your guy Jason is being fostered in the PNW area Jason's adoption fee is $500 www.northwestwagrescue.org ##2566303##
