Story

Wednesday is currently in a foster home in HOUSTON, TX and is eligible to transport to an adopter as soon as one is lined up. Our adoption application can be found at the bottom of this pet's bio. Once your application has been approved, we'll arrange a virtual meet & greet with you and Wednesday. Meet Wednesday! Wednesday and her brother Pugsley were found roaming as strays at a local public school. They both were crossing a busy street and teachers were worried they would get hit by a car. One of the teachers reached out to us for help with getting the 2 off the streets and we were able to take them both in. Wednesday is now in a loving foster home and is flourishing, but she's ready for her forever home! Wednesday is estimated to be about 6 months old (as of 12/13/25) and is fully vaccinated and microchipped. She'll be spayed between 6 months - 1 year of age. Wednesday is a shepherd mix and currently weighs 30 pounds. We do anticipate she will grow to be a medium - large sized pup once she's fully grown. Breed, age & estimated weight are all based off of our vet's best estimate since we don't have any parents to go off of. Wednesday is dog friendly and currently lives with other dogs in her foster home. She enjoys running and playing with her doggie foster siblings. She's young and still has some puppy energy, but her foster mom also describes her as a couch potato who enjoys cuddles on the couch with her human. Wednesday is also cat friendly and currently lives with cats in her foster home. Her foster mom describes her as very calm and says that Wednesday is fine with the cats and doesn't really pay any attention to them. Wednesday is kid friendly and has been around children ages 2 and 8 and she is so sweet and gentle with everyone. Wednesday is potty and crate trained and does well in her crate! She stays in there while her foster mom is away from home for work or errands. She sleeps in bed with her foster mom at night time and is such a good girl. She curls up in bed and sleeps all through the night. Wednesday is still a young pup, so she's still learning to walk on a leash, but she's such a smart girl and a quick learner! Wednesday is great in the car and just sits back and enjoys the ride! Here's a small blurb about Wednesday from her foster mom: Wednesday is the sweetest girl and deserves the best home! She enjoys the company of her human and doggie companions and loves being near you and spending time with you. She's very patient with little kiddos and doesn't pay attention to the cats. She is gentle, sweet and cuddly. She's the perfect companion to take out to a coffee shop and just have her sit at your feet. She truly doesn't know a stranger! We've taken her to multiple events and she loves meeting new people and getting cuddles. She'll make the perfect addition to any loving family! a. She is a 9-year-old, spayed, healthy white dog, about 35 pounds, with a deeply loving and loyal heart. I found her 9 years ago in a trash bin between Georgia and Azerbaijan, and since then I have tried to carry her into a better life across countries and different chapters of my own life. She later came to Turkey, and a few months ago, she came to the U.S. She has her passport, vaccination records, and documents. She is incredibly people-oriented and forms very deep bonds. She is the kind of dog who loves her person with her whole heart. She is clean, expressive, talkative, and full of personality. She enjoys walks, car rides, beach outings, and simply being close to the person she trusts. Her ideal person is someone calm, patient, and emotionally attuned, with the time and heart to build a real bond with her. She would do best as the only dog, in a calm home without small children or frequent guest traffic. With the right person, Kartoshka will be the most loyal and loving friend.

Story

Woody is a very sweet, very loving senior dog with a lot of life left in him. While he does not enjoy being pet, he loves to snuggle and be close to his person at all times. Despite having chronic pain, he still enjoys walks and adventures. He is mostly indifferent to other animals as long as they give him space, but will defend his territory if needed and can therefore not live with persistent or reactive animals. For 15 years, Woody was in a bonded pair with his sibling, who passed in November 2024. Since then, he has needed a full-time human companion. I have been unable to work outside the home because of this and can no longer provide for my own basic needs while also caring for him. He gets extremely stressed with left alone and struggles increasingly with incontinence. He has a heart condition and takes multiple medications daily. I love him deeply and hope to find someone who can enjoy his companionship in the time he has remaining.

Hi! My name is Carma and I am available for adoption.I was brought in by my previous owner on 2/1/26 because they could no longer care for me. I lived in a home with other cats and dogs.I weigh 75 lbs and am considered a `large breed` dog. I am quite chonky and should be about 10 lbs lighter :)I am a very smart dog! I am potty trained and crate trained. I have a lot of energy and am still learning not to pull on the leash when I`m excited, so I would do well in a home with a yard or someone to take me to the park where I can get my zoomies out regularly. However, I am learning how to heel and walk nicely on a lead very quickly. I love the treats my foster gives me for being a good girl. I also am a good listener and come to my name quickly.I am an affectionate lovebug who would be thrilled to cuddle up with you at home! I love my human and wish to be with them all the time, but I also love to play with toys by myself! If you`re chill, I`m usually chill, but sometimes I just want to play!My caregivers have noticed that I seem to do well with other dogs and lived with cats previously. When meeting pets in a new home, I would do best with a slow introduction, as I can be very excited to meet new friends.I am an adaptable dog who loves to go with the flow! I am outgoing and carefree, and I just can`t wait to find my forever home!Your new pet received a basic physical exam, in addition to routine vaccines, deworming, and topical flea preventative, if indicated. Although your new pet is ready for adoption, there is always a possibility of additional medical conditions that have not been detected or may develop in the future. Current medical conditions are noted below.1) Obese - this dog is obese. Being overweight can lead to many health issues and can damage the heart, lungs, kidneys, liver, joints, etc and increase risk of developing diabetes mellitus. Please follow up with your regular vet on a weight loss regimen.2) Blood in urine/urinary tract infection and crystals in urine - this dog was noted to have blood in her urine. We submitted her urine to the lab for a urinalysis. This showed evidence of a urinary tract infection and some crystals. We have started her on oral antibiotics. We have also started her on a prescription urinary diet, which she may need for life. Gerty is the goodest girl! I am devastated that we have to get rid of her. I am a newly divorced single mama of three kids and two of them have severe disabilities so my plate is too full to give Gerty what she needs. We've recently entered low income housing and cannot keep her. She needs a good family to live out the rest of her days. She is a beautiful and well behaved dog who needs a place to run! You'd be crazy not to pick her! Just be aware that she is an alpha so she will need an introduction in order to suite compatibility with other pets.
