Story
This snuggly girl loves squeaky toys and cuddles. She's energetic and playful when playtime is happening, but she also knows how to chill. Asuna was adopted as a young puppy, along with her litter mate Hermione (also available for adoption). About a year later their adopter developed extensive medical issues and could no longer care for them. With people she knows, Asuna is very affectionate. She's comfortable with calm older children, but she becomes anxious in chaotic environment. She would do best with a family with kids who are used to dogs. With strangers she tends to be shy, but she'll warm up if they're gentle and patient. She is very attached to Hermione, but both dogs would probably do best if adopted separately. Asuna gets on well with most of the other dogs in her foster home, but can be reactive with grumpy or playfully antagonistic dogs, especially if they're pushy. She would probably do best in a home with another calm, friendly dog who doesn’t mind letting her be the center of attention often. She is not safe with cats or other small prey animals. This sweet girl tends to be anxious, and will do best in a home where she has canine or human company, but she copes well with separation when her human needs to leave home without her. She needs ongoing help building her confidence and learning to be comfortable with strangers and in unfamiliar places. However, she loves going for walks and would be a great companion for a casual hiker. And she loves car rides! She's pretty laid-back and enjoys her kick-back-and-do-nothing time - which is often also her chewing time; this girl LOVES a good chew! But she also has spurts of energy when she runs crazy zoomies and eagerly engages in play, especially with squeaky toys, ropes and kongs. She's getting the hang of fetch, and loves to play tag with humans or dogs. Mostly, however, she really just wants to be with her special person. She's super snuggly, and always up for a belly rub. Asuna needs a secure backyard. She won't jump a fence, but would push through a weakness in a fence or might try to dig out if she's alone and worried. Her house manners: she's quiet and rarely barks, and is generally polite. She is house-trained and crate-trained, and she wants to please so quickly picks up on her human's routines and expectations. She already knows some basic obedience commands, walks well on a leash, and has fairly good recall, and she'd love to share her life with someone who is interested in taking her to school and teaching her new things, as that would help build her confidence. She is very teachable, motivated by both treats and praise. Due to neglect Asuna was in poor condition when we took her in, but she is now healthy and feeling good about life. She is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated up to date, and has been treated for internal and external parasites. Story
Meet Butters – The Energetic and Loving Labrador! Butters is a playful, high-energy dog who’s always ready for action! He loves running, playing, and especially car rides. While Butters is friendly with the people and animals he knows, he has some behaviors that need attention due to a lack of early training. His excitement can sometimes make him a bit overwhelming, so he would thrive in a home with an experienced owner who’s ready to provide some structured training. Butters can be strong on the leash and has some work to do with basic commands like recall. With patience and consistency, Butters will become the well-behaved companion you’ve been looking for. He would do best in a home with a secure yard where he can safely play and get his energy out, as he’s a big, strong dog with a lot of love to give. Fun Facts: * Butters is a car ride enthusiast – he loves to go for drives and explore new places! * His energy and playful nature make him an ideal companion for an active family who enjoys outdoor activities. What Butters Needs: Butters requires a secure, fenced yard for safe play, as his large size and strength mean he can be a handful at times. He’s looking for a family who can help him work on leash training and recall, and who’s committed to providing him with the exercise and structure he needs. With time and patience, Butters will grow into the well-mannered, loyal companion he’s meant to be. If you’re an experienced dog owner with a love for energetic pups and are ready to put in the training work, Butters will be your loyal, fun-loving companion for years to come! Story
Meet Canelo – The Wiggly Meatball with a Squeaky Bark & a Trust Fall Staffy / American Bully Mix | Neutered | House & Crate Trained If you’re looking for a low-rider goofball with a tough-guy bark and a marshmallow heart, say hello to Canelo — a short, stocky Staffy/American Bully mix who’s equal parts cuddle monster, body-slammer, and emotional support clown. He’s the kind of dog who chases a ball but never fetches, throws his weight into full-body chest bumps when he’s excited, and performs trust falls when it’s time to cuddle. Oh, and did we mention his bark sounds like a squeaky toy when he’s happy? But don’t let his funny antics fool you — Canelo is also: • Neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped • Crate trained & house trained • Knows basic commands (still polishing his manners) • Highly treat-motivated Personality Snapshot: • Big bark when he hears noises — but immediately hides. Excellent “alarm system,” poor security follow-through. • Loves to cuddle and seeks close contact (sometimes a little too enthusiastically) • A little droopy in the best, bully way — full of jowls and floppy charm • Playful and goofy, but still figuring out how to manage his excitement • Body slams/chest bumps are his “love language” — his adopter will need to set boundaries while appreciating his… enthusiasm -Not cat-friendly -Dog-selective – May do well with the right dog and slow intros -Terrified of fireworks, thunder, and rain – needs a quiet, safe place to hide - Needs a very secure fenced yard or daily walks with a strong handler Canelo’s Perfect Match: • Someone who appreciates bully breeds and their quirks • A person or family willing to work on structure and basic manners • A home that understands how to balance play with calm • No small children, due to his enthusiastic “love slams” Canelo is a lovable, oversized ham who just wants to be included, cuddled, and guided. With consistency, patience, and lots of belly rubs, this blocky boy will make someone laugh every single day. Story
Meet Tony Stark Super smart, high energy, loving and playful - he's all that and more! If you're looking for a sidekick to share your active lifestyle, Tony Stark would love to meet you. A kind person found this scared pup when he was dumped on a country road in Central Washington in summer 2023, They asked us to find him a great forever home ... and he's been in our care ever since. Tony really likes people. He is friendly and polite to adults and older kids. He hasn't been exposed to young children while in our care, and he may be a little bouncy for timid or very small children, but would probably do well with kids who are kind and understand good manners around dogs. He shares his foster home with several dogs and does well with them. He's playful and friendly with well-mannered dogs. However, he is not safe with cats or other small prey animals. This agile, athletic boy has loads of energy and enjoys life to the last drop - especially hikes and playtime. He would probably be a great companion even on challenging hikes, or to cheer you on during your daily run or bike ride. But once he's had his daily workout and had an opportunity to use his brain, he's the best snuggle-buddy, with a plush, soft coat that's a delight to pet. Tony needs a human who will love that he's very smart and highly trainable, because he really, really loves to learn. This is not a dog who can spend the rest of his life hanging out in your backyard; he's exceptionally smart, and is looking for someone who is interested in advanced training, or who enjoys plenty of stimulating hikes, games and adventures. He enjoys rough-housing with friendly dogs of compatible size, hanging out with his human, exploring new places, learning new things, playing chase, chomping down on bones and chews, and figuring out puzzle games. He needs a secure yard - although he doesn't go over fences, he will open doors and gates if they're not well secured. However, he doesn't wander - he's just curious about what's out there. Generally Tony is quiet (apart from excited play-growls). He may bark when someone comes to the door or if he sees something suspicious. Tony's house manners are generally good. He's polite, he's house-trained and crate-trained, and he waits for an invitation before he gently jumps up to give you a hug. However he's young and he does have a few bad habits. He'll chew when bored - and if you don't provide something he wants to chew, he'll find something he likes. His recall is excellent, and he walks well on a leash. He knows a lot of commands, including sit, stay, come, back up, wait, leave it, kennel, outside, inside, load up, let's go, spin and shake. Tony has been neutered, microchipped, treated for external and internal parasites, and is up to date on vaccinations. His estimated date of birth is 6/15/2023, and he weighs around 55 lbs. Story
Meet Thor – Loyal, Low-Key, and Treat-Motivated Don’t let the name fool you—Thor is a gentle soul with a soft heart. Recently abandoned in a rural area and never claimed (no collar, no chip), Thor was rescued by good samaritans who kept him safe until they could surrender him to us. Now fully vetted, neutered, and ready for adoption, he’s looking for a home that will never let him down. Thor is a well-behaved, easygoing guy who is: - Potty trained - Crate trained - Walks well on leash - Motivated by food and praise He doesn’t always respond to commands right away—but wave a treat and he’s suddenly very interested in listening! Thor is great with other dogs, big and small, and very submissive even when challenged by pushier personalities. He’s not a fan of drama and avoids conflict. Unfortunately, he is not good with cats, so he’ll need a feline-free home. - Neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped - Good with large & small dogs - Not good with cats - Good in the home – potty & crate trained - Energy level: Medium-low If you're looking for a fun, devoted companion who’s just happy to be safe and loved, Thor might be your perfect match. Story
Meet Buster Meet Buster – The Underdog Who Just Needs His Person Pit Bull Mix | Neutered Male | Medium-Large | Healthy & Fully Vetted Buster’s story is one of resilience. Once on a shelter euthanasia list due to severe skin issues and stress-driven behavior, he was rescued and enrolled in nearly a year of professional board and train. With patience and structure, he’s become a healthier, happier, and more balanced dog — and now he’s ready for a home that truly understands him. The Buster You’ll Come to Know (If You Earn His Trust): Once Buster lets you in, he’s not just a survivor — he’s a total goofball. • He LOVES to fetch and will happily chase a ball • His absolute favorite thing in the world? Sprinklers and hoses! ? • Loves to roll on his back and melt into belly rubs and booty scratches • Will do a silly trust fall into your arms once he knows you’re safe • He’s happy, playful, and so full of life — but only when he feels secure Behavior & Training: Buster is trained, but still needs a very structured and experienced home. + Crate-trained + House-trained + Knows basic commands, including sit and shake before meals + Food motivated and thrives on routine + Must be fed separately — he has resource guarding with food and should eat away from other pets and people + Extremely gentle when taking treats Boundaries & Needs: • Slow to trust — especially with strangers and men • Bite history (from being crowded at an adoption event and officer not following the warning) • Cannot live in a high-traffic home • No young kids • May do well with calm, respectful dogs • Shows gentle interest in cats, but needs a slow, controlled intro and ongoing monitoring • Needs an adopter who will respect his space and never force interaction His Ideal Home: • Adult-only, low-visitor household • Calm, structured, and free of chaos • Experience with behaviorally complex dogs required • Fenced yard ideal for hose play and decompression • Possibly a home with a calm, neutral dog, but must feed separately (slow introductions) • A human who understands that dogs like Buster don’t need to be perfect — they need to be safe Buster’s Journey So Far: • Rescued off the euth list after shelter stress took a toll • Healed from skin infections and gained healthy weight • Trained for nearly a year in a structured program • Learned trust, boundaries, and how to be part of a routine • Still growing, still learning — still worthy of love In His Words (If He Could Speak): “Please don’t rush me. I’ve been through a lot, and I need to know I’m safe before I let go. But once I trust you — I’ll make you laugh, bring you the hose, and roll over for all the belly rubs you’ll give me. I don’t want the world — I just want one person who gets me.” *Serious, experienced adopters only. Buster is a dog who’s been failed before. He deserves someone who won’t fail him again.
