Story
Meet Briggs! He is a 8 year old boston terrier that I have been fostering for the past few months. He is super sweet and loves to be around people as much as he can. He follows me around the house everywhere I go, even to the bathroom if I would let him. lol His best trait is that he's smiles with his underbite when you pet him. See photo :) While he has been ok around other dogs, he does have anxious tendencies so I think it would be best if he goes to a home as an only dog. If you have a dog, he would need to be around a dog that is layed back. I haven't seen him around cats so unsure if that would be ok. Also I think it would be best if he goes to a home to an owner that works from home or a home that has someone at home most days of the week. Briggs is crate trained but definately prefers to sleep in the bed with humans, he does fine either way. Briggs does ok on a leash but does have some pulling tendencies, with a little work/training that could easily be corrected.

Story
Orvi (full name Orville) loves to be around people. As a 5 year old Husky Boxer mix he has many qualities. He can lay around all day or keep up with long walks and adventures. He can talk like a Husky if desired, but typically relies on gestures and expressions like a Boxer. After his primary owner became incapacitated, we are looking for a new home that can provide him the love he needs.

Story
Meet Lottie! She is a 2.5 year old mixed breed. We were told she most likely has some German Shepard, Doberman and Lab. We adopted Lottie from the humane society when she was 6 months old. We have had her for 2 years. She lives with another dog (German shepherd), 2 cats, and two children ages 8 and 10. Lottie has been a loving member of the family but has some quirks. Lottie should be in a home with experienced children, and slow dog introduction. Lottie is a very anxious girly. I recently battled stage 2 cancer and can no longer dedicate my time to continued training. Lottie would do best with someone who can give her the training she needs and deserves. She would make an amazing hiking buddy, loves car rides, and to swim. Lottie does show some resource guarding over food and bones. She is most anxious around men and very young children. She deserves so much and I want to see her thrive with a family who can give her all the time she needs. I would love to tell you more about her!

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO ON THIS DOG BEFORE REQUESTING AN APPLICATION. MANY OF OUR DOGS HAVE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR ADOPTION. To see more pictures of this dog, please visit our Facebook page and look under “photos” and then “albums”. 9-month-old male Beagle/Chihuahua mix, about 10 pounds. Liberty and Honor were born at the rescue on 5/22/25 to momma Daisy, who was pulled from the Fresno shelter pregnant. Honor is timid at first but quickly becomes your best buddy. He like to be where the people are and will get anxious and vocal when alone. He is good with other dogs but would do fine being an only dog. He is a cuddle bug with adults but has been afraid of children. Not sure how he does with cats. He needs all the things puppies need; potty training, leash walking and further socialization! To request an adoption application, email smidgetrescue@hotmail.com Adoption contract and fee applies. All adoptable dogs can be met at adoption events hosted every weekend. PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO ON THIS DOG BEFORE REQUESTING AN APPLICATION. MANY OF OUR DOGS HAVE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR ADOPTION. To see more pictures and some videos of this dog, please visit our Facebook page and look under “photos” and then “albums”. 2-year-old female Terrier/Pom/ShihTzu mix, about 22 pounds. Jenzie is a very active and high energy girl. She is so sweet, a lot goofy and very inquisitive about everything! And she has EARS for days! She LOVES her people and to be around (or ON!) them all of the time, but she does not have separation anxiety. She can chill in her crate just fine if you are away or need a break. She tends to be too much for dogs smaller than her but does great with dogs her size or bigger. Not a good dog to have with kids due to her wild play style and cats are a no! She will need lots of walking, exercise and enrichment. She is a dog that will require you to spend some time training and engaging with, as she is not your average Netflix and chill type dog. If you are athletic, like to hike or run, do agility or activity engage in fun dog activities, she will be an excellent adventure buddy and loyal friend! She is such a great dog!! 9-year-old female Chiweenie, about 15 pounds. Cherokee is a sweet yet shy girl. She gets very attached to her person and likes to follow around, sleep and cuddle with them. She has a very Doxie personality; smart, opinionated, LOVES to eat and sometimes be vocal. She does not like to share her house with other dogs regardless of temperament, so she needs to be an only dog OR with a human that is very dog pack savvy. She is long and low, with the typical Doxie body, so all the normal Doxie long back protection steps should be taken. Not too fat, ramps, steps and such to prevent her from jumping down from high places. She grows crazy long toenails too, so be prepared to clip and snip regularly! She lets you know when she has to go outside. If you like a dog that likes to get dressed up, she's your gal! Bring on the dresses and sweaters! She does not necessarily need a fenced yard but would love to go for walks and probably no kids under 10.
