Story
Meet Lottie! She is a 2.5 year old mixed breed. We were told she most likely has some German Shepard, Doberman and Lab. We adopted Lottie from the humane society when she was 6 months old. We have had her for 2 years. She lives with another dog (German shepherd), 2 cats, and two children ages 8 and 10. Lottie has been a loving member of the family but has some quirks. Lottie should be in a home with experienced children, and slow dog introduction. Lottie is a very anxious girly. I recently battled stage 2 cancer and can no longer dedicate my time to continued training. Lottie would do best with someone who can give her the training she needs and deserves. She would make an amazing hiking buddy, loves car rides, and to swim. Lottie does show some resource guarding over food and bones. She is most anxious around men and very young children. She deserves so much and I want to see her thrive with a family who can give her all the time she needs. I would love to tell you more about her!

Story
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO ON THIS DOG BEFORE REQUESTING AN APPLICATION. MANY OF OUR DOGS HAVE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR ADOPTION. To see more pictures of this dog, please visit our Facebook page and look under “photos” and then “albums”. 9-month-old male Beagle/Chihuahua mix, about 10 pounds. Liberty and Honor were born at the rescue on 5/22/25 to momma Daisy, who was pulled from the Fresno shelter pregnant. Honor is timid at first but quickly becomes your best buddy. He like to be where the people are and will get anxious and vocal when alone. He is good with other dogs but would do fine being an only dog. He is a cuddle bug with adults but has been afraid of children. Not sure how he does with cats. He needs all the things puppies need; potty training, leash walking and further socialization! To request an adoption application, email smidgetrescue@hotmail.com Adoption contract and fee applies. All adoptable dogs can be met at adoption events hosted every weekend. For a list of scheduled events go to: https://www.facebook.com/SmidgetRescue/events . Smidget Rescue is not a shelter, and dogs cannot be seen at the Rescue location. PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO ON THIS DOG BEFORE REQUESTING AN APPLICATION. MANY OF OUR DOGS HAVE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR ADOPTION. To see more pictures and some videos of this dog, please visit our Facebook page and look under “photos” and then “albums”. 9-year-old female Chiweenie, about 15 pounds. Cherokee is a sweet yet shy girl. She gets very attached to her person and likes to follow around, sleep and cuddle with them. She has a very Doxie personality; smart, opinionated, LOVES to eat and sometimes be vocal. She is long and low, with the typical Doxie body, so all the normal Doxie long back protection steps should be taken. Not too fat, ramps, steps and such to prevent her from jumping down from high places. She grows crazy long toenails too, so be prepared to clip and snip regularly! She lets you know when she has to go outside. If you like a dog that likes to get dressed up, she's your gal! Bring on the dresses and sweaters! She does not necessarily need a fenced yard, but would love to go for walks and probably no kids under 10. She does need a bit more work on not pulling on the leash.
10-month-old male Chihuahua mix, about 7 pounds. Born 6/30/25, one of the 4 members of "The Boy Band". Brother to Kikkoman, Tofu and Miso. Mochi is very playful and snuggly. He is cautious upon meeting new people and dogs but warms quickly. He sleeps in his crate at night but would surely prefer to share the bed with his humans. His potty training is about 80% complete. He is trained to use pee pads or newspaper indoors, and we’re getting him accustomed to using the outdoors to potty exclusively. He learned how to use our dog-door after only a few days of training, and is curious, therefore very trainable. He’s a quick learner and gets along well with other dogs. He reads social cues well and plays nicely. He walks well on a leash, and loves walks, especially with a small group of dogs, AKA “pack walks”. He is not reactive and does not bark excessively but does sometimes vocalize in response to noises of unknown origin. Because he is a puppy he loves to chew, so it’s good to supervise or limit his access to household objects that may be inappropriate dog toys. If he gets a hold of an item that is not suitable, we re-direct him to a dog toy or chew treat, and he does fine. Puppies love to chew! We think over time he will become more confident and out-grow his initial shyness. Mochi has a good appetite and is not a picky eater. If you are sitting on the couch, he will surely join you, and may follow you around the house, but does not appear to suffer from separation anxiety. He would be good in a household with other small dogs, and adults or older children. He’s unlikely to do well with small children due to his slightly timid nature. We do not know how he is with cats. He is a very well-adjusted little guy and can’t wait to meet you. If you’re looking to add a Smidget to your family, you can’t do any better than Mochi. Story
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO ON THIS DOG BEFORE REQUESTING AN APPLICATION. MANY OF OUR DOGS HAVE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR ADOPTION. 2-year-old male Chihuahua mix, about 20 pounds. Jimbo was found stray in the city of Tieton and taken in by the Public Works department. They do not have animal control, so they reached out to us for help. Jimbo is shy but quite friendly, playful and interactive when he gets to know you. He is more of a people dog than a dog's dog and will get very attached to "his" person very quickly. That sometimes manifests itself as resource guarding which makes it difficult for him to share. He would do best in an adult only home, as an only dog or with a very dog pack savvy human with indifferent dog pack members. Because he likes to run, a fenced yard would be ideal! To request an adoption application, email smidgetrescue@hotmail.com Adoption contract and fee applies. All adoptable dogs can be met at adoption events hosted every weekend.
