Story
Hi there! My name is Malcolm. If you didn't fall in love with my sweet face and gorgeous eyes, wait until you experience my sweet heart! I am an 11 month old pitty/lab mix. I weigh about 45 pounds and have mostly stopped getting bigger! I was found on the streets with my two siblings at barely 3 months old and still lack some confidence, but my foster parent thinks with the right home I will flourish! I have a foster dog brother, who is bigger than me, we play and wrestle all the time. There are also a few cats and a little dog that live with us, but I get too excited and wanna chase or am too rough with them. I like watching them from my kennel, though, and sometimes try to talk to them. Speaking of talking, I love to argue and talk back, it makes my foster parent laugh. I’ve not met many kids, but if they are bigger and like to play (and cuddle!), I’m sure we would be best friends! I do well in my kennel and prefer my time in there (especially after I steal a cat toy). I am quiet and well-mannered in the kennel unless I hear a car pull into the driveway, or I need to go potty. I never potty in there and only ever excited tinkle anywhere else in the house. I like to de-stuff toys and beds, so towels or blankets are preferred in there with me so I don’t make a big mess. Squeaky toys are my favorite and I love to pull the squeaker out first when I get a new one. I love to chew on anything I can get my teeth into, if I’m bored, so lots of enrichment to keep me busy is important for my new home! I’m still getting used to walking on a harness and leash, but I am a quick learner and catch onto things without prompting so I’m sure I’ll get it down soon! Malcolm is a really good and sweet boy and deserves a patient and loving home with someone who has the time and energy to play and love on him a lot. He would do well with another dog similar to his size, but definitely no small animals. He is in the Huntsville, AL area and is chipped, fully vetted and ready for adoption! Please fill out an application if you are interested in Malcolm! He may be transported to one of the many areas we provide transport but those fees are in addition to his adoption fee.

Story
Meet Leo! This lovable pup is a unique mix of Siberian Husky, Great Pyrenees, and Mountain Cur. Leo is a sweet, affectionate boy who adores spending time with his humans. He loves to play with his ball and to go for walks and hikes. He’s a great indoor dog that is crate trained and also loves quiet time cuddling with his human. He loves to go for rides in the car, especially when going for a hike or play date. At the shelter, Leo earned the title of "play yard rockstar" for his excellent social skills with other dogs regardless of their size. He’s a smart pup who already knows several commands, including "sit," "down," "shake," and "leave it." Leo will need a home with a 6-foot fence and a playful canine companion to keep him company. He may be a little shy around men at first, but with patience, kindness, and treats, he quickly warms up and shows his loving nature. He’s ready to find his forever family—could that be you? Leo can’t wait to meet you!

Story
If you are searching for a great family pet who has the most soulful brown eyes, look no further! This gentle sweet girl is the answer and her name is Glory. Glory adores and worships kids and wants nothing more than to be near them. Her best days are spent running along side them, sitting under their chair and laying next to them as they play. She is mellow, laid back and loves being at home with her people. Glory is potty trained, knows “sit, wait, potty and go in” (come inside or go into a room). Currently, she does not use a crate, but would  revert to it easily. She sleeps in a small room with a gate simply propped at the door. A harness is used when walking her and she needs to improve on not reacting to other dogs. Not one to play with toys much ( unless taunted by another dog to tug), she loves bones, treats and kongs. At times, Glory may try to leave the house without permission. Glory has lived in a house (and yard) with a variety of visiting dogs and a “ sister”. She has no experience with cats and the barking of small dogs makes her nervous. She should not be homed with small animals. If you are looking for your new best buddy, you have found her and she’s waiting to go home with you! Glory is up to date on vaccines, h2 negative and spayed. Apply at forrescue.net
