Story
Lulu is a 4 year old F1b Mini Goldendoodle with a Merle coat. We have had her since she was an 8 week old puppy. She mostly loves to curl up on the couch and will climb on your lap any chance she gets. She also loves walks and is a good outdoor companion if you like hiking/walking. Unfortunately, she seems to get easily annoyed by our kids, and has nipped at them more than once, drawing blood. While she is small, thus her bite is not extreme, we feel it is best for her to live in a home without any children. She gets along with some dogs, but tends to be more of an alpha dog, so she probably wouldn’t do well with another dog who is dominant. She also seems to dislike anything with an engine, so can sometimes lunge at cars while walking. We believe that is something that can be trained out of her, but we haven’t made a huge effort. We still love her a lot, and it has been an extremely hard decision to rehome her, but feel it is best.

Story
Bartleby here! I’m guessed to be about 1 1/2 year old & a border collie mix, & I’ve topped out at about 55lbs. Mom says I’m a very good boy. I sleep quietly through the night, & my manners are impeccable. I get along with my doggy foster siblings - all various sizes & personalities. I don’t live with any cats, but I’ve had interactions with them & am very respectful. I’ll do best in a home with kids over 10 or younger ones who know to be patient with me as I’m a very shy boy until I warm up. Another confident, energetic, & similar-sized dog is mandatory for me - I always look to my foster siblings to tell me what to do in a new situation & they help me feel safe. My new family will need to be patient as I come out of my shell, but the reward is worth the wait. I’m the sweetest boy & love being near my people. I’m looking for a very special family who is willing to go at my pace instead of forcing me to go at theirs. I need a calm home where I can feel safe & continue building my confidence on my time.DATCP# 483538

Story
Merlin is a wonderful dog & very loved in her foster home. She’s a Chow Chow, & her adopters should have some understanding of her breed. Although she warms up quickly, she tends to be cautious in the beginning. She’s skittish around children and new people. She loves car rides and would be happy to join her person on any adventures. Families with older children will be considered on a case by case basis. Children will need to be able to control their behavior around her. She’s done well with the dogs she’s met, but after raising her puppies she might also love to be the only pet getting all of the attention. She loves to go on walks, usually keeping a loose leash & she doesn’t bark when passing other people or dogs. She will need a strong handler for when she sees small animals and pulls on her leash. She’s not been around cats, but she’s very interested in the small critters like squirrels & bunnies that she’s seen outside & might want to chase a cat. She’s calm & relaxed at home, but also is up for a little playtime. She’s mostly potty trained & does okay in her crate, but also has been trusted to not get into trouble when given free roam. Merlin has bilateral medially luxating patellas- grade 3 and 4. Although this doesn’t appear to have an affect on her quality of life now, she could need surgical intervention in the future. Applicants are encouraged to consult their veterinarian to learn more about what the long term care could entail before applying. If you’re looking for a loyal companion, apply to meet Merlin!DATCP#483538

Story
Peppermint Patty is a 2 year old mixed breed who couldn’t possibly be sweeter. She came to Wisconsin in December filled to the brim with puppies & gave birth to eight perfect Peanuts in her foster home in January. After some much-needed relaxation & rest from being the best mama, she is ready to find her family! She’s about 40lb, is crate trained, & is doing very well with potty training when kept on a schedule. Peppermint is very food-motivated & eager to please, so continued training should be a breeze. She gets along great with other dogs & kids. Cats are unknown, but it’s assumed she’ll do just fine.Get your application in to learn more about her!DATCP#483538

Story
Karley is a small 8-pound chihuahua mix estimated to be about 4 years old. She is most comfortable around women and other small dogs. Karley is not a very active girl. She prefers consistency and predictability in her day to day routine with those she feels safe with. Karley is not interested in being the center of attention and would do best in a home with little foot traffic. She is a sweet girl looking for someone to enjoy the quiet life with. Her initial hesitancy towards new people is lessened when she has another small dog to show her she is safe and being social can be fun. Although a home with another small dog is preferred, it is not a requirement. Applicants without other animals in their home will be considered on a case by case basis. Karley requires a home with a secure fenced-in yard to continue working on potty training. Continued training patience with this is to be expected. Given time & love Karley will be a devoted dog to a kind and patient family.DATCP# 483538

Story
Loretta is almost two & is an adorable female terrier/basset hound mix with the cutest low-rider body, beautiful brindle fur and the cutest ears!! She is a sweet, affectionate, loyal girl who loves her humans, snuggling up on your lap & giving kisses. She is doing well with potty training as long as kept on a schedule & is crate trained. She is initially unsure around new dogs so needs slow dog introductions, but is currently being fostered with another dog and after a week of her foster dog sister respecting her space, they are now friends! She most enjoys attention from her humans though! Don’t let her short legs fool you, she loves going for long walks & her little legs can go quickly! Loretta is spayed, current on all vaccinations, ready & waiting to meet her new forever family!DATCP#483538
