Story
I rescued Baz from a local shelter that's well known for adopting out sick animals and lying to adopters about it then refusing to help with medical bills. I've had him 4 years, he's 95% purebred 5% ??? I have to re-home him due to my own medical issues recently that have changed my life forever and he deserves better than I'm about to give him now. He's great with my disabled daughter and my other dog but absolutely hates cats. He has anxiety issues around loud noises like thunder and fireworks but hates anyone knowing that! He's a loving, snuggly, goofy, crazy alien boy with about a million nicknames now. I'd prefer him to go to a home with a fenced in yard but he's used to being on a lead and/or taking walks. He's trustworthy enough for me to leave him home alone not in a kennel and come back to find everything exactly as it should be! I don't want to let him go but it's in his best interest - this is breaking my heart! Let me know if you have any other questions!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Rachel: certified drama queen turned emotional support potato. She started her glow-up by shredding her potty pad—not out of stress, but because apparently, destruction is her love language. Tossing it in the air like confetti? A+ entertainment. And once she decided the humans might not be out to ruin her life, she let me sneak in a quick pet… as long as I didn’t make eye contact. Classic Rachel. Then came the big moment—into my lap she went, trembling like a chihuahua in a snowstorm, only to fall asleep like I was the world's most boring Netflix show. Progress!  She’s enjoying some shopping trips to gain some confidence. That night she shocked everyone by sleeping through without peeing, pooping, or protest. If you knew her track record, you’d be asking what alien replaced our mess-making gremlin. And then—drumroll please—she peed outside for the first time. Not exactly Olympic gold, but in Rachel Land, it’s a huge win. She now follows Tyson, resident pup, like a little shadow, copying his every move, including bathroom breaks. Honestly, she thinks he’s the cool older sibling and we’re just her weird landlords. She’s also discovered she has opinions now. Crate her? Expect sassy barks. Leave her alone in the bathroom? Prepare for protest vocals. But let her cuddle with Tyson? Pure bliss. Don’t get too confident though—she’ll bounce around like a happy maniac with the dog pack, but try approaching her solo and she remembers she’s made of anxiety and secrets. Still, she’ll sneak in for treats if she thinks you aren’t paying attention. Classic Rachel move. Rachel has a soft soul.  She needs a quiet home without chaos to help her continue to build her confidence.  Her ideal home would have very little time of confinement away from her humans. She is a snuggler at night with her human, once she starts to trust, and she LOVES to cuddle up with other dogs on the softest bedding she can find. She’s not quite ready for center stage, but our shy little chaos goblin is coming into her own. Slow and steady wins the race—and she’s at least facing the right direction now. RachelLeighCook is from Texas. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Before joining the rescue, Barkley spent time surviving on the streets of Texas. Understandably, he's still learning to trust people, but his gentle spirit shines through. Barkley is a sweet, sensitive soul who is cautious and will retreat when he feels uncertain or overwhelmed. He would thrive in a calm, compassionate, slower-paced home with a family committed to building his confidence at his own pace.   While he may do well with older, respectful children, younger kids can be a bit too fast-moving and unpredictable for him, which can be scary. Barkley clearly longs for connection and he’s still figuring out how to ask for it. With patience, love, and consistency, he’ll blossom into a loyal and loving companion over time. It will take him time to approach his human and nose bump the tip of their finger.   Barkley has made great progress with potty training and is currently learning how to walk confidently on a leash. While he's still building trust, it's important to treat him as a potential flight risk. For his safety, he should always be kept on a leash until he feels secure and recognizes his adoptive home as his safe haven.   Given his agility—he’s quite the jumper! A fence of at least 4 feet is required. He has previously cleared a 3-foot pen when feeling anxious, so a secure fence top and bottom is key.   Barkley truly blossoms in the company of other friendly dogs. Having a canine companion or more in his adoptive home is essential to help guide him, build his confidence, and show him that he’s safe and loved. He feels noticeably more at ease when other dogs are around. Although Barkley isn’t a fan of being crated, he’s a well-behaved boy who can be trusted to free roam the house when you're away.   In his foster home, Barkley enjoys following the other small dogs around—whether it’s exploring the house or heading outside to the fenced yard to do his business. He loves lounging in the grass and soaking up the outdoors or running around the yard playing chase with his canine friends.   Barkley is from Texas.  If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Osaka, the pint-sized tornado with a bark big enough to keep your whole block informed of every passing squirrel, leaf, or suspicious breeze. Subtle? Not her style. But hey, if you’ve ever dreamed of owning your very own furry security system, she’s got you covered. She’s currently perfecting kennel training—translation: she’ll sleep peacefully in her foster’s room, but she’s not shy about reminding you when she thinks bedtime came too soon. Digging is also on her résumé, though whether she’s unearthing buried treasure or just following her nose, only Osaka knows. This girl has energy to spare, so be prepared for zoomies, ball-chasing marathons, and the occasional brain game to keep that clever mind busy. And once she’s worn herself out, she’ll happily claim her favorite spot on the couch to supervise the outside world through the window—because clearly, neighborhood watch is a full-time job. Potty breaks? She’s working on it. Sometimes she’s so eager to get back inside and be with her people that she forgets to finish. Priorities, right? She adores other dogs and always comes ready to play, though her “enthusiastic” style may test the patience of more mellow pups. Her car ride review: “1 star, way too bumpy, but I survived.” On the flip side, she already knows “sit” and “shake,” proving she’s both smart and trainable. With structure, activity, and a family who appreciates her blend of sass and sweetness, Osaka will be the perfect mix of watchdog, workout buddy, and cuddle companion. Osaka is from a local rescue partner. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application.
