Story
Hi, I’m Penny.
I may be small, but my heart is very, very big. If you’re looking for a loyal little shadow who wants to be wherever you are… congratulations, you’ve found me. My favorite place in the world is right next to my person — on the couch, at your feet, following you from room to room. I just really love being part of your day.
I’m a sweet, doting, snuggly girl who lives for pets, treats, and attention. In the mornings, I greet you gently and head outside to take care of business (yes — I’m potty trained!). Then it’s breakfast time, maybe a short walk, and ideally some couch snuggles. I enjoy walks and little adventures, but I’m also perfectly happy staying cozy inside on chilly days. I’d call myself low energy… but always up for love.
I’m leash trained and have lovely house manners. I sleep downstairs and might bark a tiny bit when you first leave (I just miss you!), but I settle down quickly. I do have a touch of separation anxiety — nothing dramatic, just the kind that comes from loving my people a lot. With a little reassurance and routine, I do just fine.
When it comes to other dogs, I’m polite and respectful. I don’t really play much, and I might feel overwhelmed by a super in-your-face pup, but calm canine companions are just fine by me. I mostly just want my humans.
Before rescue, I was picked up by animal control. My previous owners knew I was there but chose not to come for me. I arrived with a rough haircut, some matting, and tummy troubles — but those days are behind me now. I’m feeling better, looking cuter every day, and ready for my real forever home.
If you’re searching for a gentle, devoted little companion who will love you with her whole heart and never let you feel alone… I’m your Penny.
Can I come sit next to you?
Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption.
The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Request Form prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online forms here as well.
