She is pottie trained and enjoys racing around the backyard playing keep-away with the rest of her pack; especially with crinkle and squeaky toys. Bunny enjoys being sung to using her name ("Every BUNNY loves some BUNNY sometime"). Bunny wants her forever home to have lots and lots of cuddles and lots of lap time. She expects to sleep next to, touching, her favorite human. In return she will guard and protect her new family from all dangers. ##2706756##

Meet Lexie! She is a happy, energetic 6-year-old Beagle mix weighing about 45 pounds. A very loyal dog that loves to follow you around the house and lay at your feet. Lexie's favorite activities include chasing balls or the flirt pole and going on walks and hikes. Needs an adult household without any children or cats. She gets anxious around small children and bit our toddler. Enjoys the company of other dogs in the home but is reactive to strange dogs when on leash. Lexie has an indomitable spirit and boundless happy energy!

Story
HI From Picket Fence Poodle Rescue! Yes! Rainey is NOT a Poodle but a proven: Supermutt™ who is still available for adoption! This is the information that we received from Rainey’s DNA Test: "We analyzed Rainey’s breed ancestry by comparing her DNA to our reference database of 400+ dog breeds, types, and varieties. Her DNA shows that she belongs to this special category reserved for dogs with unique ancestries. Because Rainey descends from other mixed-breed dogs, some of her DNA comes from breeds in her distant past. Over time, that amount of DNA may become too small for us to attribute to any one breed. We classify this DNA as “Supermutt” (though we can tell you some of the breeds that are likely part of that “Supermutt” percentage). We believe that this is the most scientific and transparent way to report the complexity of this ancestry." * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Rainey and her 2 sisters were born on March 3, 2019, at the Tri County Humane Society. Sort of a sad way to start her life, but at 6 weeks old, Rainey was quickly adopted by a wonderful and loving family who deeply loved and cared for her until…… Rainey is a BIG but very easy going, gentle, sociable, very smart, loving girl. She is quiet, but will bark when someone comes to the door as she is our security system which is easily turned off with the “NO” word. Since Rainey has been with us, we found that she just LOVES to be with men, women, and older children. She has always been a house dog, so if we are gone, she has free access to our entire home (housetrained). She then feels the living room couch and our bed is hers to sleep on. At night she wants to be near us, so she sleeps on the floor next to our bed. Rainey considers herself a family member and NOT a dog. Did I tell you that this is a smart girl? Rainey is just fine with (but mostly ignores) all our gentle and easy-going Poodles. She has been an only dog with cats around her all her life. But while on her 2 mile walks and at various events, she is just fine meeting other older, gentle, and easy-going dogs. Rainey greatly enjoys playing fetch with her Kong toy, going to softball games, meeting people at the Anoka Car Show, attending our neighborhood National Night Out, going to the beach, riding in a car and having her coat brushed. She just loves hugs, her food and treats! She will follow you around the house, will “come” when called, “sit” upon command and listen to whatever you have to tell her. When Rainey first came to us, she was obesely overweight at 120 pounds. With instructions from our Vet, we have reduced her quality food intake and increased her daily walk to 2 miles a day, which she just LOVES to do. Just grab her leash (or say the w-a-l-k word) and she’s ready to go. She now weights a healthy 100 pounds which my Vet feels is all muscle! Rainey was surrendered to us by a family who we know. Sadly, their special needs child was physically abusing and attacking Rainey even though Rainey did nothing wrong. Finally, it was tearfully decided that for Rainey’s safety, she needed to go to a new home. Rainey has been checked by our Vet and found healthy with no physical or emotional problems. She is spayed, has been Heartworm, Lymes and Ehrlichia tested negative, Home Again microchipped and registered. All her vaccinations and worming are up to date. *Preference will be given to a family with large dog experience. *Rainey has always been an only dog. She is OK with other dogs, but really prefers that they go away. BUT PLEASE: *NO young children. *NO cement trucks. (long story there) *Like most rescue groups, we do not adopt our Poodles to homes more than 1 day’s drive (round trip) from our location here in central Minnesota. If you feel Rainey would fit into your family or know of a family who would like to adopt her, the adoption fee will be $200.00 which includes the Minnesota sales tax, her leash and collar, a large bag of quality dog food, her food dish, a dog food bin, a large dog pillow, a dog comb and some toys.
