Story
Hi, I’m Penny. I may be small, but my heart is very, very big. If you’re looking for a loyal little shadow who wants to be wherever you are… congratulations, you’ve found me. My favorite place in the world is right next to my person — on the couch, at your feet, following you from room to room. I just really love being part of your day. I’m a sweet, doting, snuggly girl who lives for pets, treats, and attention. In the mornings, I greet you gently and head outside to take care of business (yes — I’m potty trained!). Then it’s breakfast time, maybe a short walk, and ideally some couch snuggles. I enjoy walks and little adventures, but I’m also perfectly happy staying cozy inside on chilly days. I’d call myself low energy… but always up for love. I’m leash trained and have lovely house manners. I sleep downstairs and might bark a tiny bit when you first leave (I just miss you!), but I settle down quickly. I do have a touch of separation anxiety — nothing dramatic, just the kind that comes from loving my people a lot. With a little reassurance and routine, I do just fine. When it comes to other dogs, I’m polite and respectful. I don’t really play much, and I might feel overwhelmed by a super in-your-face pup, but calm canine companions are just fine by me. I mostly just want my humans. Before rescue, I was picked up by animal control. My previous owners knew I was there but chose not to come for me. I arrived with a rough haircut, some matting, and tummy troubles — but those days are behind me now. I’m feeling better, looking cuter every day, and ready for my real forever home. If you’re searching for a gentle, devoted little companion who will love you with her whole heart and never let you feel alone… I’m your Penny. Can I come sit next to you? Story
Around the foster home, these three - Frida, Noodle and Pickles - are known as “The Kids”—a lovable trio of 9-month-old pittie puppies, each with their own nickname: the smart one, the sweet one, and the scrappy one. They may share a past, but each has a unique personality and is ready to shine in a forever home of their own. Frida – The Smart One Hi, I’m Frieda! If you look closely into my eyes, you might just see the gears turning. I’m the curious one of the bunch, always checking out what you’re doing and making sure I don’t miss anything important (like snack time). I love learning new things and pick up on routines quickly. If there’s something to figure out—like a food puzzle or how to get the best cuddle spot—you can bet I’ll be the first one to crack the code. I’m confident, outgoing, and always ready to explore, but I also enjoy being near my people and keeping them company. Like any young pup, I’m still working on my potty training and manners, but I’m eager to learn and ready to grow into an amazing companion. If you’re looking for a smart, curious, and loyal sidekick, I just might be your girl. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption.   The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. Story
If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please complete  an Adoption Request Form. This is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about our adoption process, please visit our Adoption Process page on our website at www.rescuecrew.org. From Sneaker's Foster mom: I have a never-ending list of wonderful things to say about Miss Sneakers! First and foremost, she is incredibly sweet and responds wonderfully to training. She’s not only treat-motivated, but also thrives on praise—which is so easy to give, because she’s truly a good girl. She’s completely potty trained and adapts well to both a house or apartment lifestyle. Sneakers already knows several commands: sit, lay down, off, wait, and—of course—“good girl.” She’s gentle with her toys and prefers stuffed animals over puzzle toys. Her favorite snacks are biscuits, bully sticks, and meat treats—though she’s not a fan of peanut butter. She gets plenty of exercise with 2–3 walks a day (plus some running!) to help burn off energy. Behavior & Socialization: Sneakers is considered reactive, meaning she gets nervous around new people and may bark to try and keep them away. But in the short time I’ve had her, she’s already shown amazing progress with consistent, positive exposure—especially in outdoor spaces like parks, where she can take things at her own pace. She simply needs time and patience to build trust. Once she does, she bonds deeply. ‍ Bonds quickly with women ‍ Slower to trust men Would do best in a home with older kids (she’s a little jumpy and sensitive about her tail) No cats due to prey drive (not officially tested) Best as the only dog—she’s shown nervous behavior around others Her Ideal Home: Sneakers needs a calm, structured home with patient humans who’ll give her space and support as she decompresses. Once she feels safe, she is the sweetest soul. She loves: Tummy rubs Hand-holding (yes, really!) Walks in the park Sunbathing Taking treats ever so gently She’s a total mama’s girl, and I know she’ll thrive in the right adoptive home—one that sees the loving, loyal dog she already is. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please complete  an Adoption Request Form. This is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about our adoption process, please visit our Adoption Process page on our website at www.rescuecrew.org.  Midas is a truly special boy with the gentlest soul. He is quietly resilient and full of heart, just waiting for a forever family to show him that the best chapters of his life are still ahead. When Midas first came into rescue, he was severely emaciated and had clearly not received the care he needed and deserved. Thanks to a careful refeeding program and lots of love, he has been steadily gaining weight and strength. Watching him fill out and grow more confident each day has been nothing short of incredible. Midas would thrive in a home with another confident, well balanced dog who can continue to show him how to simply be a dog again. He looks to other dogs for reassurance and learns beautifully by example. He gets along well with cats and is gentle with kids, making him a wonderful addition to many types of families. He knows basic commands and has great house manners. It should be noted that because of his past, he can sometimes have accidents in the home when he becomes scared, worried or anxious about being confined and left alone all by himself. This is another reason why a confident canine companion would greatly benefit him. With consistency, reassurance, and time, it is expected that this behavior will continue to improve. Midas does not do well in a kennel and becomes very anxious when confined. The good news is that he can be trusted when left out in the home and settles in comfortably. Midas is not just looking for a home. He is looking for safety, patience, and love. In return, you will receive unwavering loyalty, gentle affection, and a companion who will always be grateful for his second chance. Story
Hi, I’m Mila. I’m a quiet girl with a gentle heart. The world is still a little new and overwhelming for me. I came from a puppy mill, so I didn’t grow up learning how to be a regular dog. I’m very shy, but I promise — I’m never aggressive. I just need a little time to feel safe. Right now, I’m more of an “Aloof Admirer.” I like to hang out nearby and watch what’s going on. I’m curious… I’m just still figuring humans out. The good news? I’m making really nice progress. I'm pretty low energy and I’m happiest in a calm environment. I don’t play much yet, and I’m very quiet. I eat breakfast and dinner like clockwork (routine makes me feel safe), and I love food — treats are the fastest way to my heart. I’m crate trained and still learning the basics of home life. I do well with other dogs, and having a confident dog friend might help me keep building my courage. What I really need is a patient family. Someone who understands that healing takes time. Someone who will celebrate the little wins — like when I take a step closer, or choose to stay nearby instead of hiding. I may not be the life of the party… but if you give me the gift of safety, I promise to quietly bloom. Could you be the one to show me that the world is kind? This is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about our adoption process, please visit our Adoption Process page on our website at www.rescuecrew.org. Alfred, or “Alfie” for short, is a sweet chi mix whose little life didn’t get off to a great start and is still working on trusting his surroundings.  He loves to play with other dogs his own size and after a good romp will curl up in the same bed for naptime together.  While he is wary of new people, he is quickly learning that belly pets are kind of a great thing.  He has even learned that if he climbs the pet steps it leads to the foster’s comfy bed where he can snuggle right in! Due to his skittish temperament, it is recommended Alfie be placed in a home with children over the age of 10. A few facts about Alfie: His favorite game is tug. Bring it on! He LOVES to snuggle….with other dogs and in cozy places.  We think with time and patience, he will actually be a real snuggle bug! Alfie comes to you housetrained.  No accidents!  He will bark when excited but is not overly vocal. He really enjoys the companionship of other dogs and would be happiest in a household with another canine friend. While he isn’t afraid of a kennel, he is not considered kennel trained. Alfie has not been cat tested and his prey drive is unknown.
