Meet Ladybug! Ladybug’s story didn’t start the way any dog deserves. When she arrived at the shelter, she was abandoned by the very person who should have loved her most, claimed as a stray with no name, no age, and no history. Thankfully, someone stepped forward to tell us the truth. Now? That’s all behind her.Today, Ladybug is a happy, goofy, tail-wagging girl who is ready to write a brand-new chapter. She absolutely loves meeting new people…and YES, she loves kids too! Just be warned—her excitement is contagious, and she may accidentally knock you over with pure joy!She walks nicely on a leash but is always ready to stop and investigate every smell along the trail. At 5 years old and 47 pounds, she’s the perfect size for adventures, cuddles, and becoming someone’s best friend.Ladybug has every reason not to trust people…yet she chooses love anyway.Could you be the family that finally gives her the forever home she’s been waiting for?Ask about Ladybug today! Story
Meet Rock!Rock came to the shelter in May of last year and has been patiently waiting for a place to call home ever since. He was found abandoned at a local dog park here in Walworth County. Frightened and unsure of strangers, Rock wasn’t about to walk up to just anyone. A staff member and a Good Samaritan tried to find him the night before with no luck. Thankfully, that kind-hearted Good Samaritan came out the next day. With the help of her own friendly pup, she was able to gain Rock’s trust and safely bring him to us. Since that day, he’s been under our care, waiting for his fresh start.Rock is the kind of dog who makes you earn his affection — and that just makes it all the more special. He’s an independent guy who loves to explore the trails, take in his surroundings, and quietly observe the world around him. He may not immediately seek out attention, but bring out a treat and you’ll have his full, unwavering focus!Rock is a smart boy who already knows how to sit and will happily offer his paw in exchange for a snack — and yes, it’s quite the thick paw. He thrives with patience, consistency, and someone willing to let him build trust at his own pace.If you’re ready to give a deserving dog who’s had a rough start the second chance he’s been waiting for, consider applying to meet Rock today. His best chapter is still ahead — could it be with you?Adoption information•2 years old•Neutered•Current for vaccinations •Microchipped •Large boy! •Older children due to stories we were told about the previous ownerYou can call 262-723-1000 or email us at lakelandanimalshelter@gmail.com Please remember dog meetings are by an appointment with an approved application. Hi! My name is Hershey! I came to the shelter as a stray with my friend Molly. We need to go to a new home together, since Molly is very attached to me. I`m a husky and love to RUN and investigate, which can get me in to trouble. Husky knowledge would be great. Ask about us today!
