Story
Odette is a 12-week-old mixed breed sweetheart with a whole lot of charm! She’s the kind of pup that wins hearts wherever she goes. While we can’t say for certain what her breed mix is, our veterinarian’s best guess includes American Staffordshire Terrier, Labrador Retriever, Kelpie, and a generous helping of pure adorable mystery. Odette and her littermates had a rough start—discovered in an abandoned building in Texas. Luckily, our amazing friends at Waterford Wags swooped in to save them and reached out to us for help. After lots of love, good food, and belly rubs, Odette is thriving! She’s even bouncing back beautifully from a little skin mishap (nothing gruesome, we promise—her gorgeous coat is growing in wonderfully). She’s up to date on immunizations, dewormed, microchipped, and ready to find her adoptive home! At Blackberry Point Haven, we believe adoption should be fun and meaningful, not filled with red tape. That’s why we follow the ASPCA guidelines for conversation-based adoptions—no lengthy applications, no home invasions, just thoughtful discussions to ensure the best match for both pup and family. Story
Have you met the lovely duo, Blue and Star? Blue and Star, two adorable dogs found abandoned, are searching for a loving home.It all started in March 2023 when an abandoned dog was spotted on Comus Lake in Delavan. He had been there all day, and when the kind stranger reached out to him, Blue was unapproachable. That’s when the Delavan Police Department stepped in. They sent two officers to contain the pooch, but that went nowhere. That’s when the staff member came into play. Everyone that came to help spent hours with Blue in freezing temps, and after some snacks and kind words, they made headway with him. Blue ended up being able to be leashed with the help of a gentleman who was sitting down and was willing to get close to Blue. It was like they knew each other forever.During the ordeal with Blue, the police department got a call about another husky being found a bit down the road. That dog turned out to be Star. As it turns out, both dogs were chipped! The shelter was able to get both dogs names and ages. Blue is a man’s dog, who gets excited to see them and bonds quickly. Star is a big fan of all people and gets excited whenever her friends come to walk her, so much so that if they don’t come quickly enough, she takes it upon herself to go on a walk. That’s right—Star is THAT mischievous husky that digs her way out if she can’t find another way. As with most issues that come with this breed, there are solutions that can help with time and knowledge. Unfortunately, Blue can’t be in a home with children, but Star likes everyone. That doesn`t help when they need to go home together! Star can be a bit dramatic with her husky sounds - she just LOVES to talk.Adoption Information ~ •Husky mix•Blue - 5 years - almost 6•Star 4 years old - almost 5•Spayed and neutered•Microchipped •Current on yearly vaccinations •Fecal Exam•Star has High energy and needs an outlet for it. Blue would rather have a couch, bed or a nice grassy backyard to chill in•NO CATS for either of them•Needs a husky experienced home

Story
Bradley was a local stray who was thin and scared when he arrived, but now the formerly scared guy enjoys a loving touch!Bradley needed to gain weight and learn some basic obedience – walking on a leash, greeting people, and most importantly, PLAYING! He has loved his time in the play yard, where he runs around chasing toys or just soaking up the warm weather and green grass. Investigating the trails in another favorite of his. He`s a good friend who does best in a home that can give him all the exercise he needs. He hasn`t had a canine friend in the shelter, but you never know who might just become a best friend, so we are not ruling out the possibility of having dog friends. He`s not sure of his size and would do best in a home without cats or small children.Ask about Bradley today.

Story
HI I`m Junior! I`m like a big dog in a midsize body. With my short gravity base I can be a strong dog, but after a while I ease up pretty well on walks. I can be intimidating at first until I ok you but after that we`re all good. I am a confident dog and get along with most everyone. Let`s be real, how can you not like this face?
