Story
Hi! I’m Ezmerelda, but my friends call me Ezzy. I came in hot from the South and I’m built for just about anything — especially becoming someone’s just right adventure buddy. I’m not little, I’m not big… I’m perfectly in between and ready to keep up with whatever life throws our way. Want a hiking partner? A running buddy? A co-pilot for road trips? Or maybe you’ve been eyeing that agility class and just needed the right dog to try it with — because watch out, Ilona Maher… I’ve got some moves. I’m a little athlete with moderate-to-high energy and a big enthusiasm for life. I do have a tiny voice that pops out now and then — only because I care so much and want to make sure I’m doing exactly what you’re asking. It’s the sweetest little hound sound, and most people say it’s impossible not to smile when they hear it. I truly love everyone. New people, new friends, playtime — I’m all in. I’m also proud to say I’m 100% potty trained and quiet and content in my kennel when it’s time to settle down. If you take a chance on me, I promise to show you just how full of adventure (and joy) everyday life can be.  Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption.   The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Request Form prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please complete  an Adoption Request Form. This is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about our adoption process, please visit our Adoption Process page on our website at www.rescuecrew.org.  Meet Buckles: Classy, Sassy, and Currently Accepting Applications  Buckles would like to start by saying she is very polite when you first meet her. Calm. Reserved. Practically an angel. This is a lie she tells to see if you’re worthy. The moment you pet her and she realizes you’re not a threat, her entire body turns into one enthusiastic wiggle. Shy? No. Strategic? Absolutely. Buckles is what you’d call high-functioning perfection. She’s house-trained, crate-trained, and already knows sit, lay down, come, kennel, and heel. She learns insanely fast and lives to impress. Beauty and brains. Dangerous combination. Social skills? Immaculate.  Loves kids of all ages  Adored by adults  Dog-friendly (would thrive with a canine roommate)  Chill with cats, chickens, and ducks — because she’s cultured She’s athletic, smart, and ready to be your hiking buddy, sport prospect, or “let’s learn something new” partner. Physical and mental stimulation are her love languages. That, and belly rubs. Mostly belly rubs. Now let’s address the diva energy. Buckles believes: • Sweaters are not optional. • Snow booties are a fashion statement. • Mud puddles are self-care. • Sass is a personality trait, not a flaw. She is one of those once-in-a-lifetime dogs — the kind you meet and immediately start rearranging your life for. The kind you tell your friends about even if you don’t adopt her, because how could you not talk about Buckles? Buckles may be your soulmate if: • You would choose your dog over your spouse (green flag). • You can commit to endless belly rubs. • You’re okay being mildly bossed around by a puppy. • You’re missing a little sass and a lot of love in your life. Story
Berlioz is settling into his foster home well. The first few days were filled with uncertainty as he made the long drive to Minnesota, was separated from his brother, and spent his first night alone. Now, he is starting to explore in earnest and finding his routine. Berlioz prefers to have company, human or canine (no info on cats). He is also a world-class snuggler who likes to give hugs, kisses, and sit in laps. As he gets more comfortable, we are seeing typical puppy boundary testing and a strong intellect. Berlioz loves toys, puzzles, and trying to outsmart everyone else. He is a ton of fun and will be an excellent sidekick or companion for anyone looking for a pup who will play hard, then crawl into your lap to sleep. This is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about our adoption process, please visit our Adoption Process page on our website at www.rescuecrew.org. From Sneaker's Foster mom: I have a never-ending list of wonderful things to say about Miss Sneakers! First and foremost, she is incredibly sweet and responds wonderfully to training. She’s not only treat-motivated, but also thrives on praise—which is so easy to give, because she’s truly a good girl. She’s completely potty trained and adapts well to both a house or apartment lifestyle. Sneakers already knows several commands: sit, lay down, off, wait, and—of course—“good girl.” She’s gentle with her toys and prefers stuffed animals over puzzle toys. Her favorite snacks are biscuits, bully sticks, and meat treats—though she’s not a fan of peanut butter. She gets plenty of exercise with 2–3 walks a day (plus some running!) to help burn off energy. Behavior & Socialization: Sneakers is considered reactive, meaning she gets nervous around new people and may bark to try and keep them away. But in the short time I’ve had her, she’s already shown amazing progress with consistent, positive exposure—especially in outdoor spaces like parks, where she can take things at her own pace. She simply needs time and patience to build trust. Once she does, she bonds deeply. ‍ Bonds quickly with women ‍ Slower to trust men Would do best in a home with older kids (she’s a little jumpy and sensitive about her tail) No cats due to prey drive (not officially tested) Best as the only dog—she’s shown nervous behavior around others Her Ideal Home: Sneakers needs a calm, structured home with patient humans who’ll give her space and support as she decompresses. Once she feels safe, she is the sweetest soul. She loves: Tummy rubs Hand-holding (yes, really!) Walks in the park Sunbathing Taking treats ever so gently She’s a total mama’s girl, and I know she’ll thrive in the right adoptive home—one that sees the loving, loyal dog she already is.
