Story
Riley is an easy going, low energy mini aussie , he is 10 yrs old, 27lbs. and has a heart murmur, and some enlargement of the heart. He is on medication and doing well. Vet did not say he has any exercise restrictions. He does have some arthritis in his front paw, so he has a limp. His favorite toy is a ball that he’s had since coming to rescue. Riley has good house manners, can be left without being kenneled, but will tolerate being in one if he is given a busy bone, or Kong. He currently sleeps on floor in bedroom. Riley can be selective when meeting strangers. He has been fine with both men and women he has met here. Not sure what triggers this. He has reactivity on walks also. At another foster he did pack walks and was fine. He’s good with other dogs, that are not looking for a playmate. He enjoys laying outside , he will bark at people but will stop when told its OK. A yard without a lot of foot traffic going by would be good. Has some anxiety in the car, and visiting the vet. Living in the metro area would be a plus, and willing to go to our vet in Elk River. All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers. We need an approved application on file to set up a meeting with a dog you might be interested in. You can find our application at www.aussierescuemn.com All dogs have an adoption fee of $300 plus MN sales tax. We pride ourselves on matches that are awesome for both the dog and your family. Aussie Rescue of MN is here for support, advice and as a safety net for our dogs for the rest of their lives

Story
Gordy is a 52 pound 5 1/2 year old male Australian shepherd. He is up for adoption because he does not do well with children, and his family recently had a baby. He would do best as an only dog as he does not like other dogs. Gordy loves walks and is very well behaved on a leash. He loves outside time and loves to chase squirrels and rabbits. He is athletic, high-energy, and loves to be active. Gordy is perfectly house trained and does not chew. He does very well in his crate and feels secure there. He is sweet, eager to please, and very food motivated. He comes from a loving and secure home and will be missed very much! All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers. We need an approved application on file to set up a meeting with a dog you might be interested in. You can find our application at www.aussierescuemn.org. Story
ArthurHi! I’m Arthur! I’m a young and energetic boy! I love toys and making them squeak! And, I won’t deny myself a good chew on a pillow, blankie, or loose bit of paper either! I’m just so curious about everything and tend to investigate with my mouth. I might even jump and nibble on a hand here and there because I get so excited when I meet a new person too. If I’m being too rambunctious in the house I’m more than happy to get outside for a walk. My foster mom says I’m a good walker. I love to meet new dogs, especially if they’re young and playful, like me! While I’ve been in foster care I’ve gotten much better about my separation anxiety, but I still get really sad when my humans leave me and I will vocalize my displeasure and sadness. Ideally I just want to spend all the time with you and watch you go about your daily business and then snuggle on the couch and eat cottage cheese with you in the evening.   If you’re looking for a playful and sweet boy I’d love to meet you! - xo, Arthur To see other hounds currently in our care please visit the Hounds in Our Care page on our website. Story
Turbo Shiloh R 22F, L 75166Hi, I’m Shiloh. I’m a real shy guy, but am very sweet and gentle. It takes me a little while to warm up to a new person, but once I do get ready for lots of kisses. I like it best when my house is calm and quiet and would love it if there was another dog there to keep me company when you’re busy. Most of the time I’m very quiet, but will get a little upset if you put me in a crate and leave me. I do really well left out, I just don’t like being confined. While you’re away I’ll just gather up all your shoes for you and put them in the bedroom for easy access. Don’t worry I’m very gentle; I just want to move them closer and keep them safe, along with some of my favorite toys. Also, if you have any dirty laundry that you want kept warm I’m an expert laundry warmer! And now that we’re talking about things I like I have to mention that treats are pretty great and toys, fluffy ones please! I like playing with my foster greyhound brother too! I get excited for walks and may pull you a little, but I won’t be chasing after squirrels or bunnies. If you have a quiet household and patience for me to get comfortable in my new surroundings I’d love to be the sweetest addition to your family. xo, Shiloh To see other hounds currently in our care please visit the Hounds in Our Care page on our website. Story
Bella is a 3 year old spayed female aussie who is between 45 and 50 pounds. Her family describes her as a very sweet cuddle bug. Unfortunately their resident GSD was not thrilled with the changes that occurred when she joined their family, so she needs to find a new home. She does fine with male dogs, no female dogs. She would enjoy being an only dog in the home. She is fine with cats as well. She needs a bit of patience as she can be nervous. If she thinks she was naughty and hears "Bella!" she may pee out of nervousness. They have observed some resource guarding towards the other dogs with food, but does fine if she can eat in her own space. She is being fostered in Bemidji, MN. Reason for rehoming is she has caused serious health and behavioral issues with our German shepherd. Almost like she stresses him out? Our GSD has started losing hair and peeing inside which he hasn’t done since he was 10 weeks old.

Story
Turbo Spencer, R 22E, L 75166 Hi, I’m Spencer,   I’m a self described “friend to all”. Where I’m living now there are bunnies, chinchillas, chickens, and two other greyhounds and we all get along swell! I’m a real gentle - WHOA, what was that!? Oh, phew. Ok, it was just someone throwing a toy for one of my foster brothers. I’m still getting used to things just flying through the air, all of a sudden! But what was I saying? oh yeah, - I’m a real gentle soul. I can definitely be startled easily and can be shy at first, because everything is still so new. I love to give kisses once I get to know you though  . I actually do love to play with toys, just as long as they’re not zinging over my head unexpectedly.  I also enjoy going for a walk, if there is another dog along with us. I LOVE hanging out in the yard; I love it so much that sometimes I don’t even want to come back inside! And I’ll do pretty anything for a treat, including go into a crate!  If you’re looking for a sweet and gentle guy and have another dog and some patience to work with me, while I adjust to retired life, then I’d love to meet you! xo, Spencer To see other hounds currently in our care please visit the Hounds in Our Care page on our website.
