She was given to us by a friend who told she had been to multiple homes with obviously no success for a long-term home. We happily took her in and started tackling challenges from day one: separation anxiety, crate training, leash reactivity, house training - We had great success. We absolutely love and adore Nye but with our newborn we have found that he is allergic and we are simply struggling to manage both fur-babies and the new baby. Tex has been a part of our family since he was just 4 months old, when we welcomed him home from a humane society and he’s been full of personality, energy, and loyalty ever since. Even at 10 (he turned 10 in January!), he still loves playing ball, being outside, and when he's not on the move, cuddling up under a blanket with his person. He truly just wants to be by your side. He’s in great health—our vet always comments on how healthy he is. Tex is fully potty trained, does well home alone for extended periods, and is a great little “security system.” This is a very hard decision for us, but with a growing family and another baby on the way, our home is no longer the best fit. Tex would thrive as the only pet in a home without children. Tex deserves a home where he can continue to be the center of attention, get plenty of playtime, and enjoy all the love he has to give. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful companion with lots of personality, Tex could be your perfect match.

I am a senior, still working part time and plan to do more traveling. I feel a loving home with more time to give Ole for walks and company at home would be wonderful for him. He is loyal and a good companion by your side. I have two granddaughters ages seven and nine who have frequent sleepovers here. He is very good with children. I also keep my daughter’s Sheep-a-doodle here from time to time and he is also very good around other dogs! Groomers always tell me he is very cooperative during his appointments. He is also non-shedding.

Adoption fee for a dog over 3 years of age is $300 + Mn tax., pup/dog1 year to 3 years is $400 + Mn tax. Under 1 year of age $500 + Mn tax. Because NWMNAR is not a public shelter, meet and greets do not take place until an application has been approved and a home visit has been completed in person or virtually. Meet and greets will take place in a public setting along with the adoption if compatible. Dogs can be met in Ada, MN weekday and weekends, or in our alternate office location in Maple Grove, MN on weekends only.
